Bayne has been keeping me up to date with the Fun Runs after I lost the ability to join, and after he told me about the recent drama I decided to come and have a look myself. And my god, what has happened?

When I was in Fun Runs, we still had the occasional muppet. Anyone remember baldslacker? He was the reason behind many crashes - but he noticed this. If he felt he was harming the room rather than contributing to it, he'd back out from the race and watch it instead which calmed all tension. From the looks of things, people are acknowledging their problems, whether it being down to lack of skill or lack of a good internet connection, but being stubborn and still racing anyway. This makes matters much worse as displayed because it ruins all sort of fun. People having the common courtesy to do this would go a long way. Skills don't need to be improved in a race - ask around and see if you can get someone to 'spar' with you, teaching you basic technique before you rejoin races.

Secondly, I also noticed that you guys were looking for fun events, so I'll throw this out again:

Earlier today I had a thought come into my head while watching some Best Motoring clips - what if the famous five lap battles were incorporated into a Fun Run? It'd be easy enough to organize, you could even use cars from the recommended list. All that's required are the P/W ratios to organize grid positions and you're golden.

For people who don't know what BM is, look no further:

The lobby regulations would have to be adjusted to something along the lines of comfort mediums or hards, five or more laps, and tyre wear on very fast.

Now, I know I can't even participate in these any more, but I couldn't help just wanting to get this idea out for the sake of enjoyment here.

Thoughts?

Cars can be whatever, as Best Motoring have done F40s and RUFs to minivans. I'd be willing to do all sorts of set up required to just to make your life easier @nascarfan1400, even though minimal amounts would be required.

With all the recent issues here regarding visibility and latency, I'm going to withdrawal from Fun Runs for awhile. I feel it's the responsible thing to do, as I know I've caused problems before.

And when I come back, I hope that all of our other issues are sorted out. Thanks for the fun everyone. I'll still be active in the thread, but I won't be racing.

Dayum, things calmed down. Good.

That's good to hear.

Once we got past the godawfully repetitive Gen 6 racing and pulled out the Calibras, we had some quality racing. Just do quick, interesting races, especially with cars that are easy to drive for everyone, and people are happy.

Oh, and the Suzuka oval was nothing short of dire. Might seem like a decent idea, but the execution can never be good with what we have. A bunch of ill handling overpowered cars going round in a vague circle with no actual lap counting, scoring or outlined track limits for 20 minutes was not fun, and it was not racing. You may as well chuck all the cars in there to have a big game of car sumo. Or just have banger racing.*

*Just throwing the idea out there if we want to try v2.0.

This sounds fun.
I did it when Suzuka 2014 was first released. Everyone can do it, there's no driving standards whinging, and it's a nice shake down from the usual serious racing.

I was thinking of tonight trying to spec out the 190E, Alfa 155 and Opel Calibra DTM cars to make them even. Anyone up for it?

190E is from a different era, they should never be grouped together. It suffers way too much on the traction side. The 155 and (Opel) Calibra are pretty even anyway, so they won't need much tweaking.

Really? Man, guess I don't know much

That would work if the cars weren't so expensive.

They aren't that much expensive from what I remember...

I only got 300,000.....

Let me see... maybe we can even out the GT-R TCs excluding the R35?

I had this idea a while ago....

We use the C7 Corvettes and customize them to a certain level. Nas and I were taking it as a joke awhile ago but Mabry we can do it since the car doesn't cost that Much....
