I'm weaning myself off ABS. Nearly there. The only problem I have is that on some cars, the effect is over the top & totally unrealistic. (i.e. Instantaneous wild spins.) Apart from that, I'm finding it fun & it certainly makes you more drive more carefully. (I use a sponge ball taped behind the brake pedal for some resistance - I find it prevents me from mashing the brakes.)
Back on topic, I personally only use RS tyres in very high PP race cars & even then, whether I use them or not depends on the race/competition.
Maybe putting RS tires could help practicing with no ABS, and the wild spins probably due to too much rear bias or brake force. I rarely having such issue like spinning out when braking, just have to be smooth and careful with the braking in low speeds. When I do spins or getting sideways, usually I brake too late and too aggressive with the brake.
Guess nothing that practice can't cure
