Just a quick question, when it's raining in GT5, is it best to use Racing Soft tyres, or Rain Tyres.
I remember someone telling me that Racing Softs are quicker in the rain, can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.

I can only remember having one wet race, in B-Spec, and my driver could not control the car at all on the racing soft tyres, had to pit for the wet tyres and then he was much better

Softs are faster, but have almost zero grip when raining. Exact opposite for Rain Tyres.

In light rain, with enough traffic keeping a dryish line, and you can keep them hot but not baked, stay on softs. But it DOES get to the point where rains are faster than the RS tyres.

Compared to the more realistic tyres, the RM and RH, the rain tyres are the better bet.

It depends on what you have the loss of traction option set to. If it's set to real, you'll want the rain tires. If it's set to low, the racing soft tires work just fine.

My guess would be Rain Tyres since they happen to keep more grip.

If you're running with the grip reduction set to real: Rain tyres.

It sometimes becomes impossible to prevent the car careening into the grass, unless you happen to be Senna:ouch:

Can you change that and where? Only saw it in the practice mode...

I'd say rain tires would be best in the rain, just makes sense that way. Not sure how much of a difference it makes bit I did a race with some friends on Nurburgring 24hr and it started to snow, I had racing softs on and had almost no grip at all.

I just did the last race in the Dream Car Championship (Nurburgring 24H), and started the race with Soft tires not paying attention to the fact that it was raining really hard. After I ran the circuit and got back in the pits to change to rain tires... The grip was horrible! My poor Toyota Minolta could barely move! >( Worst lap ever!

Interesting. Maybe PD will decide they messed this up real bad and fix it up a little in 1.07
