Viewer discreetion is advised...

It's actually 2 guitarists =P

6/10, the girls kept me watching XD

Posted this one before but wonder what mich will think of it. This and Hallowed Be Thy Name are my 2 favorite songs ever. The guitar harmonies in this song make me eargasm. This is from 1986's "Somewhere in Time".

That's one of my favorite songs off of Somewhere In Time. 10/10!
Now time for me to post an Iron Maiden song!

Can't see the video mate, sorry. But anything Maiden is safe to say it's GOOD. :D

So, I bought this on vinyl the other day, it's their debut album. Released in 1983. & yes, the band is part of the NWOBHM movement.

Enjoy. :)

Yeah, sorry about that. I tried the method used to put the video on here and failed. Anyway, here's the song.
Flash Of The Blade - Iron Maiden

9/10 Great. My old man would be proud. Clapton's still got it too.

Here's one from back when the Pumpkins were cool.

6/10 Twas OK, nothing more nothing less

Lets switch gears

whoever posted Flash of the Blade 100/10

Lol, like I said, if it's IM, pretty much guarantee 10.

Which is why some (myself included) have bailed out of this thread. It has pretty much become a rate the IM song. If this is the case, why not take it to the General IM thread ? Change it - mix it up a bit more than what it is. The way it is now sort of takes the fun / diversity away from this thread. Well, the rating system could use a little bit of work as well. Explain your rating, not just throw out a number rating saying, meh, not for me 2/10 and run.

I'm not totally against Maiden, they do have some good stuff (not all of it a 10), but diversity is a good thing.

+1

You try and mix it up a bit, and bam, the same people come straight back and post IM, over and over and over again, or some other rock/metal song.

To those who do you must like other artists from other genres surely??

For the love of god please mix it up.

I actually agree. When I post, I post metal... Hence why I haven't posted here in awhile, because there was heaps of it being posted. I've only posted 1 Iron Maiden song, so not too many. :p But then again, almost all of the other things I post are Iron Maiden inspired to an extent. So no better of a choice. But last time I tried diversity by posting Mumford and Sons.

You know... we're 'sposed to be rating songs as be go.

I don't listen to chick songs, 2/10. Bleh. It is a little catchy though.

And back into posting.

Hmmm, good guitar work... Vocals are quite good... Terrible mix (then again, it was the 80's). But still, it was '86. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween (in about 1 year), and most other metal bands were all sounding clearer than that. But I won't let the mix drag the score down. So it's still a 7/10.

So, time for something that isn't metal! :D

No. All I listen to is Metal, Rock, Sinatra, Dean martin, and a limited amount of country (Old '50s stuff, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr. etc.

Then I feel sorry for you.

I was like that a few years ago, listening to one specific genre because I thought that was all I liked. But when I pushed the boat out and looked around I found a hell of a lot really good music. Stuff I wouldn't have even known existed if I hadn't been willing to try new things.

Try it for yourself, you may be surprised.

I forgot Classical and oldies music ('50s doo-wop). But I won't listen to anything nothing newer than the late '80s/early '90s. I like fast stuff, that sings about cars, death, war, and gun etc. Why 80% of what I listen to is Metal.

Everything went better than expected 7.75/10

So you guys tried something new and hated it, so now you're never going to try different music again?

I never said that. You'd be surprised what I like.

I did. And I hated every bit of it.

I don't understand. You tried listening to different music and you hated every minute of it, but you do still find new music you didn't think you would like? How does that work? You hate pushing outside your boundaries but I would apparently be surprised at how often you go outside your boundaries and enjoy it?

+1 That's all we're looking for ..... a change of pace in this thread.

There is nothing wrong with Metal, it's your preferred genre of music. Nobody is going to knock anyone for their taste, but seeing the same artist over and over and over again gets old ... fast. Glad to see you diversified into something different. 👍

Replied above.

+1 again 👍. That's what it is all about.

@ Jahgee1124, in regards to your Starship song.
It's not one of Starships better efforts, but still not a bad song either. This era of Starship was what I call Corporate Pop/Rock. The record labels needed some top 100 hits out there and this was one that I fell fell into that trap, unfortunately. Starship (as a group) just fell into the times. The vocals in this song are not bad, kinda popish, but yet a touch of rock in them. Percussion was not bad, kind of average. The drum rudiments are a bit on the stale side, but yet still in with the times. Guitars are catchy, which is what I think saves this song (a bit).

Overall rating 6.5 / 10

Next up : Boston - Foreplay/Longtime

I grew up listening to a combination of metal, rock, alternative and country. Older stuff, like late '90s-'05 stuff is alright but anything new I don't like. I have tried many different genres and have learned that metal is for me. That's why I don't like listening to other music, no matter when it came out.

Boston was never one of my favorites. Alright guitar, but the vocals aren't my thing. 6/10.

I didn't like that at all 2/10

Any person who watched YuGiOh the Abridged Series should recognize this song eventually
