Dad wanted me to sight in my bb gun because it was "off" for him.

Went out, shot this @ 25yds without changing anything and the wind blowing at 30mph.

Same here. I have a .177 Stoeger ATAC. Dad was getting frustrated that he couldn't hit any chipmunks (we are infested with them. Holes everywhere in the ground) so I said give it to me and nailed it on the back... Except I know I have to shoot two mil-dots left and one down on 10x zoom..

I'll have mine here tomorrow but this is what it looks like:

Stoeger say it's supposed to be sighted in at 25 yards at sub 1" groupings, but that is hog wash. I need to figure out how to clean these though, without messing up the suppressor..

Might be. Air rifles are pretty noisy especially high powered ones. But its pointless for a pump gun.

Yeah, they work really good.

When you get to the much higher pressures, like with all guns, the bigger the bullet, the bigger the boom. However, with air guns it's the build quality. The ATAC is 'supposed' to be the quetiest air gun ever, but I've only shot two (but the ATAC was the quieter one by a lot). I have shot plenty of .22 and plenty of unsupressed BB/air guns and they all have a distinct crack of the subsonic air moving about.

Like @Slash said though, pointless for the pump guns like the old Daisy's.

It s pretty cool, however, how the suppressor works. Just a note though, don't shoot a BB when your out of pellets. Learned that already.

This is my rant, there are many like it but this one is mine: Man, its so incredibly hard to get rifle powder. First bullets, then brass and now powder. Everything is shipped to the US, even ''locally'' produced powders from Switzerland and CZ. Really, when I finally get my hands on some of that rare stuff I'm not sure if I should rather snort it than loading it into brass cases to burn it.
I'm not sure what you guys overseas are doing with all the ammo and components, are you secretly preparing for a civil war? Fighting the greys? Do you all have miniguns or 1200rpm MG42's on your lawn firing full auto 24/7? Is there a Knob Creek in every town? There must be a giant bonfire in some random desert where all the ammo and powder gets burned by the truckload, I have no other explanation.

Anyway, I'm giving Swiss reloader R50 a try, its a new manufacturer but then its not. Its actually the Vihtavuori powder plant sold to some Swiss guys, its the same stuff really. Currently its the only available powder around here.
NO YOU CAN'T HAVE IT, ITS MINE, MINE ALONE.

Interesting. I don't know about the rest of ya, but my peeps haven't shot in months. Ammo cost more than ever, and availability isn't great + .22LR is still very rare to come by(I haven't see a brick in many, many months).

I had seen some leaked pictures a week or two ago. I just read an article and the price point is very appealing. I may be interested in picking one up. I would like to have another pistol.

EDIT: A couple more pictures are included on HK VP9.

What. A. Beauty.

I wish I could get one, but only way I could justify buying one is if it was a compact(I realize it's not). I already have two full size pistols, and only compact I have is a .22LR, so next pistol gotta be a compact, or subcompact, 9mm & up. :guilty:

Meh, what do you need a compact frame for? Unless its a carry gun the full size pistol does all the compact does but better. Longer sight radius = more accuracy, more weight = less recoil, longer barrel = more bullet velocity. The full size dominates the compact or subcompact on the range.

It indeed would be for "carry", what do you think!?

There are exceptions like those shorter P220s, or Glock 19. I think they are just awesome looking handguns, and I much prefer them to the full size models.

That new HK looks good.

You should still be able to carry a full size like that in the winter if you wear any sort of jackets.

Just not in summer, but that's why you need two carry pistols and train with them regularly! :D

I'm not sure if this video has been posted but I thought it was very interesting. I always hear people say that you shouldn't shoot steel cased ammo with an AR (especially a direct/gas impinged AR), but this video proves otherwise. What do you guys think about this?

The HK VP9 is likely around the same size as a Glock 19, as the VP9 is a variation of the P30 and the P30 is similar dimensionally to the Glock 19.

I know that I can just run a Google search but I was wondering if anybody that posts in here has ever had any experience with the PTR-91?

I know nothing about them, but they are sweet!

I'm totally ignorant on ammunition, casing or metallurgy. I have stocked up on some Tula & also Wolf military classics. Wolf was garbage(many duds), but Tula has performed without any hiccups.

Very first time I showed up to range with my AR, another guy there with AR was immediately alarmed as soon as he found out that I was shooting some Tula, also some brass. I have yet to see anything authoritative supporting either claims, when it comes to brass vs. steel. This Youtube video claim do seem pretty sound, but it did fail to convince me that steel case is as safe & reliable as brass. Testing flat piece of metal in a measurement machine, in room temperature seems like a decent indicator for me, but hardly replicate how things may be affected with gunpowder going off in it inside a chamber, interacting with gun parts.

My decision not to buy anymore steel cased ammo came when I ended up on Michael's "S" list read some random post talking about how much of AR parts are made with softer metal, like aluminum. Don't get me wrong, that's also hardly conclusive(or even credible, as I have no idea if the claim is true), but I've taken "better safe than sorry" approach, since. I will shoot the steel cased Tula & Wolf that I've already purchased, but I have stopped buying them few months ago.

Nonetheless, very cool vid. 👍

Do you carry yet? You got a compact Shield, didn't you? :D
But if you can't carry a fullsize pistol you need to lift to get bigger so you can carry the gun between our abs or in your armpit.
Abs sound dangerous & armpit, well, you know? :boggled:

It does look close to G19 in the pic, size-wise. I was intrigued by what one of your linked page said. Something about value priced. An HK. Value priced. I am interested. :D

Its a very beautiful rifle....and this is where my experience with this gun ends. :dopey:

I'd rather go with the FAL to be honest, I think the FAL action is better and sturdier. Not a fan of the roller locking action.

I'd rather go with a FAL, also. It's been battle tested time and time again. It's realiable, accurate, easy to shoot, easy to maintain and easy to fix. There are tons of available parts if any need replacing. Why would you go with anything else?

Love it!

Shot some good groups with my handloads today, the swiss powder is good and burns unbelievably clean even though it smells of burned socks. 20 shots through the tube and its still all shiny. :dopey:
Waiting for the barrel to cool off wasn't so fun though, it was so hot today that 5 shots was enough to make the barrel super hot.

9 shot group at 110yds, with a tiny 7 power scope (with one mandatory flier at 8 o clock. )

I'd never have those...... Instead, mine would look like a buckshot from 50 yards.

P.S. Interesting about the cleaning burning, but stinky powder!

Don't worry, with practice comes accuracy. How is it going with you AR-10 anyway?

Yeah I don't know why it smells so bad, its just normal but high quality single base stick powder. Most powders I know have that refreshing fruity smell, like burned lemons or oranges. This one smells like a prison laundry factory on fire. Maybe its the charcoal made from a different tree, one that just smells bad, that would also explain why it burns cleaner.
💡

Probably something along that line. 👍

My Bushmaster .308, I haven't shot it in months. When I do get around to hitting the range, I've been just shooting my pistols(I know you don't appreciate this lol). I will take my AR next time. It's about frigging time. :D

No way.

I'd buy that setup when it's under $500......... "Assault rifles" would be banned in the U.S. by then though. j/k
