I know nothing about them, but they are sweet!
I'm not sure if this video has been posted but I thought it was very interesting. I always hear people say that you shouldn't shoot steel cased ammo with an AR (especially a direct/gas impinged AR), but this video proves otherwise. What do you guys think about this?
I'm totally ignorant on ammunition, casing or metallurgy. I have stocked up on some Tula & also Wolf military classics. Wolf was garbage(many duds), but Tula has performed without any hiccups.
Very first time I showed up to range with my AR, another guy there with AR was immediately alarmed as soon as he found out that I was shooting some Tula, also some brass. I have yet to see anything authoritative supporting either claims, when it comes to brass vs. steel. This Youtube video claim do seem pretty sound, but it did fail to convince me that steel case is as safe & reliable as brass. Testing flat piece of metal in a measurement machine, in room temperature seems like a decent indicator for me, but hardly replicate how things may be affected with gunpowder going off in it inside a chamber, interacting with gun parts.
My decision not to buy anymore steel cased ammo came when I
ended up on Michael's "S" list read some random post talking about how much of AR parts are made with softer metal, like aluminum. Don't get me wrong, that's also hardly conclusive(or even credible, as I have no idea if the claim is true), but I've taken "better safe than sorry" approach, since. I will shoot the steel cased Tula & Wolf that I've already purchased, but I have stopped buying them few months ago.
Nonetheless, very cool vid. 👍
You should still be able to carry a full size like that in the winter if you wear any sort of jackets.
Just not in summer, but that's why you need two carry pistols and train with them regularly!
Do you carry yet? You got a compact Shield, didn't you?
But if you can't carry a fullsize pistol you need to lift to get bigger so you can carry the gun between our abs or in your armpit.
Abs sound dangerous & armpit, well, you know?
The HK VP9 is likely around the same size as a Glock 19, as the VP9 is a variation of the P30 and the P30 is similar dimensionally to the Glock 19.
It does look close to G19 in the pic, size-wise. I was intrigued by what one of your linked page said. Something about value priced. An HK. Value priced. I am interested.
