Possible, but then why post the photo at all? It's not like this is the only photo of the two together. And they certainly wouldn't shop in a car they had no rights to, it would be far more sensible to put in a Ferrari or even Red Bull car.

The VR-01 is there for a reason.

Like I asked before (and never got an answer..), WHERE did we find the Adrian/Kaz pic in the first place?

The picture has an obvious "inventors proud of their invention look" and thus why it was taken. Like you say though why bother editing it when you could simply omit it and publish it at a later date when everyone who cares knows what the X-1 (or whatever) looks like.

I disagree with you though, i don't think the VR-01 is in the game and instead this is a blunder.

So let me get this straight, they did take care to blur any picture or text refering to the X1 and went in quite some detail to prevent those drawings from becoming public and then put in a picture of a Virgin car by mistake?
Nah, don't buy it as they would have noticed a car chosen, not accidentally there in a Red Bull building I assume, as a background picture.
Particularly as they're quite aware of licence issues and this being an official photo with a designer of a rival team.
Since this picture was also shown on the official Red Bull Racing site and they would've noticed it too before publishing it I can only for now conclude it's there not by coincidence.

There is nothing on the Red Bull Racing site about this picture, and their latest GT5 news is this:

Same shirt and all, so obviously it was from that meeting. However, I still don't get why. If it was by a fan who just wanted to pull a fast one on us, what was the original picture, and where is it now? If it was from Red Bull/PD, what was there before?

It seems logical to assume that it was an F1-shaped object behind them that could be covered up with a picture of an F1 car. If they went to their graphics department and said "Hey, we need you to block out the X1 with any other F1 car" and the artist decided to use his favourite driver/car, then that would explain it completely.

However, we still cannot find the first picture on it's own outside of GT Planet.

Notice how all the images and text have been PS'd to blur.

I hold on to the fact that it was an inside job, done because the X1 was on the screen behind them.

I guess you're right to an extend Predwolf and AgentGT, I mistook the picture I saw yesterday on the official Red Bull site with the one having the Virgin car in the background.
My apologies for that, although I'm still not convinced this is a fake picture and considering they did make the effort to blur the drawings of the X1 and the logical replacement car for the X1 in the background ( if that's the case ) being perhaps a Red Bull F1 car, the fact they went for a Virgin car seems too big a mistake to be unnoticed ( if it isn't a fake that is ).
 
Ahaha well done. See the "fusion" between the spoiler and the venetian blind? Also the letter V is cut.

The Virgin VR-01 has nothing to do with GT5. It was just put there (hoping that nobody would recognize the random car....but we did) to hide something else, just like for the papers.

Where did this picture first turn up anyway if, like you said, it has only appeared on this forum?
There must be an original somewhere, whether the Virgin car is a deliberate fake or mistakenly edited in by PD themselves especially when there's no original to be faked it does seem to be indeed an inside job both ways.

I think it makes almost clear that the car has got a canopy like the Caparo T1.
Also, according to other clues seen in pictures, the car has got a small displacement turbo engine which can reach 10000 rpm.

That 4000 - 10000 RPM was likely refering to the fan (a la Brabham fan car) in the drawing it was on.

That looks exactly like a bird's eye view camera from sub-scale wind tunnel testing. Like this;

So, PD released a screen shot of a random F1 car? Personally, I'm with Amar, there is no way they would do that with out realizing the consequences.

I don't know if you call that confirmed, but I can't write that off as an accident either.

Surely, F1 isn't the missing #3 is it? Personally, I don't think it would be, because it should require a higher level, but I thought I would throw that out there.

PD isn't allowed to put any cars from the 2010 season in anyway. Shooped. Why would PD put in a random unsuccessful F1 car anyway? The F2007's in because it did something important, won the championships, same for many cars in GT, they stood out, or won a big event, or would've been good but failed for other reasons etc.

If I remember correctly, that was everyone's best guess. We have never had any confirmation regarding the specifics of the license.

Please do not take this as me trying to argue it is confirmed. But, I guess, I cannot just explain it away so easily.
 
I believe the F2007 is in because Ferrari licensed it to PD. It's quite possible that Virgin did the same.

The X-1... AWD LMP?
 
I'm 100% PD is up to something with F1 cars. They wouldn't waste their time just to play with us (even that most peple didn't spot the virgin car in this pic)
