I played through it again almost exactly a year ago, it was just as good as the first time. For coming out nearly 7 years ago, it looks just as good as most current games, and even better than a lot of them. I don't think it will ever look/feel outdated or old. It might be my favorite game of all time, if I had to pick.
Wow, that would have been almost verbatim what I would have said about the game. I completely agree, RDR2 is by far the most immersive game I have ever played. I have never seen this level of attention to detail anywhere else before or since. Like you said, the graphics are incredible and also the animations (especially facial animations) are on a completely different level. I have no idea how Rockstar managed to extract this type of performance from a PS4.

I play it slowly every year with the changing of the seasons. I start a new game in winter and then slowly progress through the chapters as the months go by.

I've played the game through four times and have several eave files at different points I can revisit, as well as one save file dedicated solely for the low honor playthrough.

My favorite chapters are 3 and 4.
Nice, that's a cool approach! I've played through the game for the first time in 2019 and started a new playthrough a few months ago this year. I love it just as much now as I did back then (maybe even more) and I now realize how much content there actually is and how much of the game I missed on my first playthrough. I'm currently halfway through chapter 6 and in the process of hunting all legendary animals. Next on the list are the legendary fish for Jeremy McGill.

I’m currently on my second playthrough and just finished the mission involving Arthur and Rain Falling riding along the mountain ridge. I have to say that I really like these more laid back and narrative focused missions (this one and the mission where you take Mary on a, at least sort-of, date). They really add to the game‘s depth.

Just played through it again the past couple of months, last one was back in 2019. Still looks great. Dutch is still quite an enigma to me, especially at the end.

Right now I'm playing the first Red Dead Redemption. Can't remember the last time I played that one, maybe 2013 or so. It's interesting to play the two games in this order.

Getting close to the part where John enters Mexico! 🏜️🐎
