So...Walmart had a PS4 Slim 1TB bundle with RDR2 and an extra controller on sale for Cyber Monday at a whopping $200. I've been holding out for a PS4 Pro as I want the 4k but would have given in for this deal. Unfortunately I was too late and they had sold out by the time I saw it. They even removed it from their website. :(

Going to hit my local store tomorrow after work to see if they will match the deal but I doubt it.

I grew to really like Charles towards the end. He's just such a good, well rounded character. At the beginning he seemed young and inexperienced, but towards the end he definitely knew what he wanted to do, who he wanted to help, and how he wanted to do it. He more than anybody else in the gang got his priorities straight.

I do agree with you about Sadie though. She magically goes from "housewife" to "experienced frontierswoman" in a matter of a few months. That being said though, we don't know how skilled she was before hand. And a sneak attack by a bunch of O'Driscolls will surely subdue any NPC.

For me Sadie gradually grew into a bad ass. But perhaps she is natuurally talented like Rey from Star wars;). Charles and Sadie DLC would make a lot of sense. I just hope Rockstar is willing to add single player content.

What actually happens to Sadie and Charles after the Epilogue is complete?
A few days later I returned to Beechers Hope for a 'family meal' and John said something about them leaving. Last I saw them was the cutscene after returning from final mission (did you notice how they kept Charles hidden in the background?). I guessed Sadie would return to Bounty Hunting but I thought Charles would hang around the ranch.

Charles gets on his horse to head north to hunt and find a wife or similar iirc. Although, I do still occasionally see him round the ranch. I think that's a glitch, though. Sadie's ending is rather ambiguous as she was still healing from her wounds during the credits scenes, but it is assumed she carried on as a bounty hunter after parting ways.

...goes to Canada.

I am a singleplayer only kind of gamer and dont have any online friends to play with. I dont really understand how mulitplayer for RDR 2 will be like. I really would like more adventures in this world, however will it be worthwhile for someone playing by his own?

R* said you'll be able to play as a lone wolf. I hope that's true because that's how I want to play. It wouldn't be smart to demand online players to play with other people. Even Sea of Thieves implemented single player boats in the game despite being primarely "play with your crew" type of multiplayer game.

I expect it to be like GTA, where solo play is possible. I also expect it to be like GTA where there are incentives to playing with a group and disadvantages to playing solo. I've always been a solo player and have no concerns about not being able to continue to do so.

Never played GTA online. Does it work with lobbies or is it like a mmo?

So you wouldn't care if solo wasn't possible?

No, I mean that I am not concerned that solo play will not be possible. As in, the notion that one would not be able to play solo seems too far fetched to me to be a concern at all.

Edit:

R* games have traditionally been segregated into lobbies. GTA on PS4 is separated into lobbies of 30 players maximum. You can seek out friends/crew members, otherwise you can select to play alone in a session where only invited players can join, or you can even just let the game drop you into a random lobby session. That usually results in you being placed in a mostly full lobby session. I suspect the general functionality of GTA's lobby system to be present in RDRO.

I also expect it to be like GTA where people randomly kill you for no reason...

No doubt about that. R* already has provisions in place to reward players who attack others.

I expect a 'passive mode' or similar like GTA, but regardless you will want to have your wits about you.

I expect the lobbies to be smaller than GTA since hunting is possible online and it also suits the theme.

Unofficial leaks are suggesting 32 player lobbies. Official marketing filings support this with the network features marketed as supporting 2-32 players. The beta may be more limited, with lobby size increasing as the network becomes more stable. I don't know.

Iam not bothered about online if they are going to go crazy like gta did. Instead i Would like some dlc in a year or so, iam thinking they could open up mexico, that would be amazing.

The one time I tried GTA Online, after an hour I had been...
Blown up randomly by a fighter jet
Blown up randomly by a tank
Blown up randomly by.....

You get the picture.

I'll be sticking to playing RDR2 offline thanks.

For me, it wasn't one of the worst endings, but it was definitely one of the most frustrating endings, to see the guy that I played with for so long get shot in the face like that. Probably would feel differently about the game if I had the good ending. Actually kinda mad about it now.

Now that I think about it, the epilogue ending makes a lot more sense with this ending...since, even though John and Dutch don't know that he shot Arthur in the head, it feels like they're killing him out of revenge for Arthur.

Also, I guess Arthur got TB from that one guy that was loan-sharked and spit in his face and later died.

EDIT: And the subtleties are crazy:

As Arthur and John battle up a hill, the bullets finally bring your steed to its knees. This triggers a touching cutscene where Arthur says goodbye and thanks the horse for its sacrifice. The camera zooms in into its teary eyes as Arthur touches its cheek.

The thing is, this final cutscene is contextual. If you haven’t sufficiently bonded with your horse, it doesn’t trigger. It makes sense, because it wouldn’t be quite as poignant if Arthur had a moment with a horse you just stole from the roadside. Still, it’s another cool touch in a game stuffed with them.

Clearing out the Del Lobos gang hideout at Fort Mercer. Totally didn't realise until afterwards, that there are two gatling guns in the yard that I could have used. :dunce: That might have made things a little easier.

That's a throwback to RDR ;)

Anyone on the final part of this where you have to catch a 220 pound catfish? It drags Gill into the water and he disappears, you can pick up his hat and a Special Spinner lure. R* confirmed the fish can be caught but it seems nobody has caught it yet. In a cutscene before Gill casts his line he mentions using bacon as bait, which you cannot do. I tried tossing one of the nearby pigs in the water but it didn't do anything .

 LMAO

A Redditor got a response from R* saying that the Channel Catfish wasn't actually a catchable animal, it just formed part of a scripted event during the mission. Glad I didn't waste too much time on it.

I posted about this a few pages back and no one responded... I dont think.

That does not exactly show a screenshot of a Rockstar support ticket saying it is not catchable. I certainly believe that it is not catchable, at the moment, but I'm going to respond to an old support ticket I have regarding legendary fish and just ask if it is catchable. Not that I dont believe the guy, but it's all here say without the picture.
