Regarding game saves..

Will my GT5 savefile work if I buy GT5 from here, US, since USPS has managed to "misplace" my game collection that was shipped here?

As far as I know the game save data is region locked. So if your save data was EU region, it will not work with your US disc. I am not 100% sure someone from here told me

Hm, that is the same thing that I heard but I just wanted to check it just in case. Anyone else have anything to add? Confirm or clarify?
