rF2 has not been released yet? I think when it does, and there is more of a structure regarding the mods, then there will be a sub-forum.

AC is also in Beta stage and there is already a lot more content for rF2. I'm not saying this is the case at GTP, but generally speaking "pretty" trumps "good".

AC is barely even a racing game! It has 1/4 the features rF2 has! rF2 is a MUCH more advance and MUCH more developed game than AC. rF2 needs to have its own forum.

Here'a a video one of the BSS GT Championship drivers made for the upcoming Poznan race:

What do you mean? I have 3 monitors, rF2 it works beautifully, for that matter rF1 does as well. Can you explain?
1. Parts of the hud are off-screen because there is no bezel correction (seriously, how hard is that to fix).
2. Doesn't take into account monitor angles, sizes or distance to screen.
3. Poor performance in multiview. This is slowly improving but way behind iRacing, AC, and GSC (and I assume rF1).

I am certain they will get there with the HUD, I think guybo mentioned the entire interface it being reworked. As far as performance, indeed it could be better and it has been improving. Let's not forget ISI is a small company, rF2 will be around for a long time and will be improved upon. Let's also not forget many racing teams, including F1 use their engine, that's how good it is. Maybe it isn't perfect in those areas, all its other features more than make up for these shortcomings.

Not to get on a RF2 bash here, but I here a lot of people talk about how great rain is done. Well to tell the truth I don't know if its any good or not because of the flashing grey on the screen ever time you drive through mist. Also does the same thing for smoke, but the flashing is white. After a half lap in the rain Im done, the flashing is to much for me.

Seriously guys, if these are your complaints I don't know what to say.

Never mind the superb physics, the unequaled FFB, the FULL flag rules which includes the pace car, full community modding support, etc., etc., etc..

I don't want to believe it, but seems to me a lot of GTP folks do focus on the aesthetics rather than the actual experience and immersion. There are aspects in rF2 I find less than stellar and hope they will be improved upon. But when I try other SIMs, then get back behind rF2's wheel...sorry, no comparison.

Cheers

Im sorry, but my emersion is broken when I have 3 screens flashing at me like a strobe light. Not having proper triple screen support is also kind of a put off, but not a deal breaker, because you can get a pretty decent fov with what they have for adjustments.

Sounds like the things you bring up are issues with your machine. I have bezel correction, rain performance is fine, I don't get flashing grey or strobe lighting. I do rain races regularly.

My only complaint with the triple screen HUD is that it can be hard to read chats when I am on track because the very beginning of the chat window gets cut off. Oh well.

You mean in the rain? Going on memory, you can disable rain and reduce-disable the particles, effects, all under the settings tab. You should experiment and fine tune it to your liking, although you may have to sacrifice other graphics you like.

I can expand later once I can access the settings, but it really comes down to trial and error on your part. When driving (per the video above), I had the video/graphics settings turned down for FPS reasons, then I increased everything to "Full" to record the replay.

The rain effect has gotten much better and they are improving it. However, I find the current one is pretty good, maybe not super realistic, but pretty good. What is truly amazing to me is the "Real Road" effect, be it in the rain or dry conditions. Racing in the rain is not easy, real or not.

I hope this helps. Cheers.

guybo

I got the T500RS shifter paddles replacement parts Friday, very quick response. Question; how long should I plan for the replacement? I'm not sure I want to tackle it today if too long.

Cheers!

It took me maybe 10 mins. It's really easy- just follow the instructions (was it a .pdf or a video? I can't remember which but it was very helpful).

Ahh, thanks, it is a PDF in my case. I will do it tomorrow.

It just occurred to me, your issue could be either the HDR or a specific HDR setting you are using. On the video I embedded, I have the HDR active with a setting I downloaded, hence the fence glow in certain angles.

Well, did you get those paddles installed? Did it work?

I'll let you know tomorrow, didn't have time to do it today.

Any news on rF2? I'm thinking of signing up for unstable versions. What do you think?

I hear that they are working on a few things:
-Making it so you can try different cars in a mod without leaving the session you are in.
-New flash-based UI (but it is not close yet)
-working on tools for BROADCASTING races.
-General performance increases for NV and AMD video cards

-URD EGT mod now has more cockpits & is getting close to release.
-Truck Racing up to v1.0

OK,it took me more like 30+ minutes, mostly because I had the cables inverted the first time :p The paddles seem to work great, better, more positive feedback. I'll know in time if this solved the problem. So far so good.

Cheers.

Voltaic, if you want to join the BSS, I need more info from you over at the www.besforrf2.com forum and there's a race this Sunday then 2 weeks after that. The pre-season races are important so that everyone is familiar with how we organize the races and our rules too.

See you there!

I am at a complete loss with this issue. I have tried turning every option as low as possible then everything as high as possible and I still have the flashing interior. :banghead: I have also noticed that the rain drops are visible in the interior. Not sure where I should look next. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

fatkrakr, did you check on track HDR settings? Maybe you have an HDR profile that is causing too much glare?

Could you share how I would check that? I tried all the settings I could find in the options menu. Thanks again for your help.

Pick a car and a track and load it. Once loaded you will see "Garage" and Settings" at the bottom. If you click settings you will see several tabs, stay on "Display", at the bottom you will see a way of selecting an "HDR Profile", if none are shown then that's not your issue. Some profiles are provided with the track by ISI, however you could download HDR profiles, many in the ISI forums specific to tracks and rF2 release version. Be sure to install these correctly.

You can also disable HDR all together. Launch rF2, the Launcher will present you with 3 tabs and some options on the bottom right. Click "Configure Sim" and disable HDR.

I hope one or more of these tips help you with your issue.

I just looked at the video again. I've never seen that issue or even heard of it. It looks like your install is messed up and a reinstall can fix it. Delete everything except the Packages folder and install the Lite installer.

-Install the Userdata to the same place as the Data (don't use My Documents)
-Make sure you delete your .PLR (but you can keep your controller profiles)
