We're currently going through a one in 50 year storm here in Vegas. It came out of ****ing nowhere. All I heard was distant thunder, then the rain came down harder than we've ever had it before. Then incredible gusts and my power went out. And now it's hailing. This is just crazy.

I have no idea how long it's going to stay out but just to be safe I'd like to humbly request TnJF to host and run the race in my absence. Can't believe this weather! I'm fine but brb gotta do something about this new pool I got in my backyard that's slowly trying to invade my porch. I've only ever seen rain like this in movies. Turn off the FX gosh!

Sure, just use the room in my earlier post.
already open and configured.

Awesome thanks a lot TnJ!

I just finished getting the backyard porch secured against this water. Sounds like a lot of people are having problems as I hear sirens all over the place from emergency vehicles. The gusts were reportedly 60mph but I wouldn't know if it felt like it 'cause I've never been through wind that hard here but it certainly was enough to knock a ton of branches and mess up some cabling. It's only raining now so that's good. The rain came on super fast during "the event."

btw I'm posting this from my phone, yes.

I'm gonna head out to make sure my family's all good so I'll check back soon guys. Sorry about all this, hope you all don't mind the last minute changes.

Super thanks to every one that helps out and participates.

I am getting a "network incompatibility w/ the room host" message on the screen when I try to join Dr Watson

It finally took, sorry

Of course man, why wouldn't you?

Sweet. I though I was maybe too late. I'll stick around and join as soon as the room is up. Maybe someone can qualify me in the mean time. Let me know if so.

Joining the Dr's room

Had to leave because of class, don't get why the start was an hour late.
Also the start was ridiculous,I got pushed aside at turn one (Limited visibility I understand) which is still ok,
but then someone rear ended me hard and I saw a bunch of cars go off in front of me.

I parked my car. I kept spinning out and bumping into people. Better if I'm off the track. I didn't prepare at all. When I qualified today, that was my first time on the track with this car. Same setup as indy, not a good setup at all for this track!

Practicing at Laguna Seca

1472-6118-4216-8213-8474

Got down to 1:21.782 with a blown andretti hairpin, so I know I have 1:21.5 in me. 1:20 is possible for the super-humans.
Should be a rough race though, grip is really unreliable making it hard to run consistently fast.

Sorry, this week got delayed because we had to run last minute without the admin. Blame the weather in Vegas.
This was just pre-season though so no harm done.

That's the good thing about limited damage, keeps those bad moments from being worse, pretty confident someone was playing farmville or something of the sort draining my connection tonight, sorry to those it interfered with, was a very good race on my screen, without running into the crash around lap 20 and being bombed in the pits I had a real shot, though Welsh had some true black magic going on at the end, brand new tires and 6 straight 21's gained only 5 seconds on his more worn tires.

Hopefully the race went nicely. I just got power back! Gonna jump into TnJ's room.

This race was fun, but I was too exhausted to keep this beast under control for an hour. Too races in a row is a bit much for me right now. Next week I'm going to have to cook lunch in advance or something and have a small walk and eat between races.

I improved my control with this car considerably during the race. I think I pulled a 20.5xx at some point, which is almost a second faster than what I had done previously. If I hadn't spun out several times I think Welsh and I could have had a good battle.

This car is intense. I'm really looking forward to Laguna Seca now! Too bad Wardez couldn't make it. Better get a backup generator for next week!

Wow guys, fun race TOUGH track.. I just couldn't keep rubber under the front end for more than a few laps.. The right hander at the end of the back straight and Turn #3? (The up hill left that leads into the kink/entrance to back straight. I just kept forgetting the winner's mantra... Slow in Fast out etc..

Laguna will be one heck of a race, Andretti will claim more than one late braker I'm sure of it.

Glad you had fun lol.

It was meant to be the wringer before the championship starts.

In other news; Laguna Seca is fun AS HELL in the C6.R. MAN! I hardly ever really feel comfortable in a car there but it just seems made for it with the track's camber profile and everything. It's just awesome. A good stable ride height I was running was 0 10.

I ran a 1:21.997.

Qualifying opens tomorrow fellas and I'll open up a room on Saturday for a group session, otherwise, get practicing - let's get it on!

I probably have a very stable week ahead so you should see me as a competative racer for the season opener. I hope to see a full grid. People might be turned off by this car because of how the tail tends to kick out a lot. But honestly I think everyone should ttry running through the series with this car. Easy to love and easy to hate just like a good woman. Push it right and she will make you the happiest man alive but if you stomp on her, she will tear you to pieces!! ;)

I think the car has lot's of rear grip, but not much mid corner front grip...I noticed this compared to other cars during quali...

Yup I got blasted also just trying to give room to get through the first couple of turns as I'm in 4th and trying to not pound anyone in front of me. I couldn't tell from which direction the brick wall that hit me came from. With so many capable and fast racers around me I thought that some allowance for others would occure but no I guess the race was the first 2-3 turns and not the other 50+ min's we had left to go.

I wish I could figure out why that happend but thats life and lag. Maybe I'll just line up at the back and let you all go so I can just pick off the guys who can't keep it on the track or who feel that they have to win the race in the first few turns.

Next weeks race will have to go off without me because Little Lefty has a Go-Kart race next Sat. and Sun. so it's reality for me and the kid next week. Maybe in two weeks things will be different and more room will be given so everyone can stretch out and let real racing occure rather then a first turn CLUSTER-F. Rant over :)

Anyway I had a great time and got to dice w/ black and waffel a little bit as I was driving around by my self most of the race ...... lol

Quite true. I'm telling you though, it's a dream on Laguna, for me at least. It brakes so well around there for its speed.

Added the replay. NTSC US, host replay.

CSL you should check out the "LOL INTERNET!" of your car in the early laps.

hah, thanks a lot for uploading the replay TnJ, you're a gentlemen and a scholar. Thanks a lot for running the show while I was away 👍

I'll take a look at the replay and see what you mean.

Thanks Lefty, we'll see you soon.

Apologies again for being so late to the room, I just completely lost track of time and jumped into the room on the off chance there had been some delays. Lucky for me there was and I was able to start from the back of the grid. I knew the car was good for 1'20.xxx laps from practice and was pretty confident it could go 37 laps with just 1 pit stop, so once I realised both CSL and Nastra were on a 2 stop strategy, I just ran steady consistent laps with a best of 1'21.6xx I believe. Even on 18 lap old tyres, I think I was running high 1'24's ;) Also, luckily for me and CSL it was only light damage as we both hit a spinning Wafflepants on the start/finish straight :) No idea how Nastra squeezed through, good pit crew I guess! 👍

Good pace out there on a tough track for these cars, but I think the 1 stop pit strategy was the winner here.

Agreed, understeer is killing me at Laguna, the rear can let loose if you're hard with it, but generally it's pretty easy to control. After TnJF and Wardez left the practice session tonight, I did manage a 1'21.696, but, still not happy with the car, as TnJF said, consistency is tough!! lol

Good job we've got a week to get ready. Laguna is gonna be a great race for sure!

Oh, I get it now:idea: you're another alien.
I thought your second half run was to fast to be possible, and quite frankly, it was, between you and your tune you worked some magic, I would have been on zero for tires by lap 18 running the mid 21's. I probably could have pushed for 20's, but seemed to risky to run that hard, fickle track and all.

I have to watch the replay now.

Like I said CSL, Scumbag shows up late, then wins race.. and not by a little.

I still can't believe lefty only pitted once, I know I was rough on the front end but.. that's some tire magic there.

Idiot's guide to dealing with the replay files? Copy to ps3, where?

LOL that sounds so amusing to me for some reason.
Was it the red Vette?Saw it go off in front of me at one point too.
Anyone for practice?

Yep that was the red one, it was me!

I just couldn't get a handle on that front end, the final turn was a crap shoot towards the end. It was a snowball from the beginning and I kept robbing myself.

I made some changes to the car for Laguna, I hadn't realize that setups are still "backwards" I could barely get the damn thing to rotate at race pace. I really do hope to give you guys a real run at Laguna!

I think I rear ended you in the chaos when someone hit me and I had no where to go,was like "bang, bang, bang" then I saw your car right in front LOL.
Yeah same thing I experienced in the FIA GT3 series with my old Corvette, damn setup didn't make sense!
