There's no need to worry, it's for those who've played Forza 6 or Fallout 4 on their Xbox Live profile.

Ah that was the part I wasn't sure about actually, again sorry to be a noob but I only recently got my Xbone and have only played Forza 6 offline, no rivals events etc. but surely it logs in to Live anyway? Always found it a little more clearcut on the PS3/PS4 when you are logging in. I guess I could just do a rivals race or something for the sake of it.

Your console signs into your Live Profile when you turn it on, so by default you'll have played Forza 6 whilst logged into Live.

On mine I have to manually sign in, but the game will still be running by the time my Xbox One is on.

For those who haven't seen it, here's Turn 10's very own Mechberg pushing the Rocket 69 to the limit on the Mulsanne Straight:

He also mentioned on-stream last night that the car is banned from the Multiplayer Hoppers, unless you set up a Private Lobby.

That's good. I could see it becoming a problem on Daytona Tri-Oval. :P

There's the PI rating. It's S758.

I'm hoping for both oversteer and floppy suspension to be honest, like a cop car in an old movie.

Welp, after watching the stream again, I can definitely confirm that it looks to be a really terrible car in terms of performance. It's blindingly quick (fastest I saw Mechberg go was 261MPH, and he kept hinting at that being it's stock performance, possibly meaning that it'll be upgradeable to go even faster), but the brakes are rubbish, and the handling is floppy and drunk-like, basically handling like a '40 Ford Deluxe Coupe if you were to give it AWD, stretch out the 1st gear and shorten the other 5 gears to be practically non-existent, give it the Enzo V12 tuned up all the way, and remain on stock tires and suspension. It's incredibly floppy, but really fast if you can keep it going straight.

As @PJTierney already stated, it's banned from all public multiplayer hoppers. Also, the Forzavista is pretty cool. The vehicle history tab has an echo-y male voice instead of the usual Forza woman, and the hatch on the roof flips up like a jet cockpit glass. I heard the radar in the car making typical 'beep' sound like a military radar.

As shown in the stream, there are no engine updates for the Rocket. Which means that its top speed is likely to be unimprovable. That being said, based on what I've seen I wouldn't think of a top speed of 280MPH as impossible.

That's awfully inefficient. Just copy the 1st gear ratio to the 2nd-to-5th: this way shifting won't produce any result. That's how I replicate 5-gear gearboxes at least.

Yeah, that's what I meant, to stretch out gear 1 to around 260mph, and shorten the remaining 5 gears to the same ratio. Could've chosen my words a bit more carefully. :p

I really can't wait to try this car. I'm not averse to novelty, and I've got a sweet paint idea for it when it drops.

Mama Murphy says a cocktail of Ultra Jet, Overdrive and Jet Fuel makes it handle like a dream....

I'm sure she's right. This might be the time to pop the single dose of X-Cell I've been hoarding for a special occasion.

For those eager to see it in action on the Nurburgring, I've just put a replay up of my lap around the 'Ring in the Rocket 69. Be aware that it was my first ever time driving this car, so please excuse the rather crap driving. Lap was invalidated due to cutting in on a turn too early and putting too much of the car on the grass.

Search my gamertag 'A 1998 Jeep XJ' on the Forza TV function, and look for a replay titled "Rocket 69 'Ring". This thing is so unique and fun. :P

My Rocket just arrived, and I took it for a spin around Sebring (for reason which will be made clear soon enough). It's hopeless in S-class, but it's a lot of fun! And I was surprised to see that it can be bought in several stock colors, some of which I've never seen while roaming the 'wealth.

As for the engine sound, I'm thinking... Could that "Atomic V8" be a nuclear-powered V8 Stirling engine? That'd explain the sound and, to a certain extent, its (presence of a) torque and power curve. It'd also be significantly more compact that an electricity-generating nuclear reactor.

I just got mine. Will this car count as a Unicorn?
Doubt it, since you can repurchase the Rocket 69 as many times as you'd like, unlike a unicorn car.

Edit: Just tried building an S class tune for it. Turns ok, acceleration is ok, speed is excellent, brakes are atrocious. It just can't stop, even with upgraded tires and suspension. Brakes can't be upgraded either.

Got mine. Took it to 255mph stock on Old Sarthe. Acceleration is sort of like a Regera being a single speed, but it handles like a boat and can't stop worth a 🤬.

So who's up for a Rocket 69 one-make spec race? :p
I would be last, but if I get my code I don't see why not.

Everyone will have to make their own retro racing liverly though.

+edit
The breaking doesn't seem that bad... Turning is not the best though.

Rather disappointed by the 12k rpm limit, was expecting a turbine engine with a 40kish rpm limit.

It starts super slow, but around 70 mph in just starts to fly.

Where would the one make race be? Le Mans? Monza?

+edit2
... Maybe COTA for when you undoubtedly overcook your tires break you have run off area so it doesn't end your race?

@Fat Tyre and I test drove the Rocket 69 on Laguna Seca tonight, and man that thing is a freakin' tank through the corners (darn you 4WD system, giving it too much weight!) All the Rocket wanted was to just go fast, so it kept throwning us both off track multiple times as punishment for not giving what it wants haha.

But it was a fun experience though, as me and @Fat Tyre kept laughing at how it handles. It was a blast! xD

Cool beans, will have to check when I get home tonight if I got it or not.

Never played Fallout 4 but have spent countless hours on Forza 6

Hopefully that counts for something.

Nice to see they have a Forza vocal description of the car. Its an ovals and LeMans car. Handles like a 1960s pile of Americana.

Turn 10 really REALLY need to do a rivals for this.
