Sorry, missed this bit of the post... Based on what evidence? You really think that we will have a choice of grid or rolling start before you start each race?FlareKRThey're putting both I think so it's really you're decision.
The reason we haven't really seen any proper grid starts is simple - they are struggling from a technical perspective. All those cars on screen at once, all that detail, all that damage potential, all going into the first corner at once. Rolling starts are good for something like NASCAR, but for a basic track race like on Suzuka...totally ruins the experience. Here's hoping they get the dynamic LOD sorted out so they can manage proper grid starts.

Rolling starts, only if everybody goes at the same time!!! Also side by side in rolling starts.
So why haven't we seen any grid starts? There has to be a reason beyond, "because we haven't, not because they can't..."I don't think this is true at all. The PS3 has far and away enough power to handle a full grid of cars on screen at once.

Sounds like I'm not the one who needs to do the relaxing! You do realize that all the stuff we saw are from the demos that are time limited, what's the purpose of grid start when you can't finish the race?
And relax, as I said they're just demos, rolling starts will probably be for Nascar and 24h races, grid for everything else...
As for technical side, we already saw 16 premium cars running close to each other into the corners pretty easily...
Yep, that would help for sure. However, if the rolling starts are anything like they are currently, they will be unrealistic and just plain boring to watch. If you could take control of your car BEFORE the line and time your attack so that you were as close as possible to the car in front as you pass the line, that would be great. As long as the gt 5 prologue rolling starts are replaced by double file starts, I won't mind to do them. I still hope we get grid starts as well
