Why does the ls1 Camaro and 04 GTO have a 150 hp difference after installing all mods if they both have the same engine? 👎

Different parts used in the engine perhaps? That being before and after the modifications, drivetrain - can it handle more power? Does it need to handle more power or is less more in this case? All engines are different, you can even slap the same modifications on 2 identicle cars and have a small difference.

A small difference I can understand, not 150+ hp though. They're both fully upgraded the same in the game, PD should fix it.

The in game GTO is a 5.7L and in real life made around 350HP, but the new Camaro has a 6.0L and makes 425HP.

Well then in that case you have point.......too bad there isn't a third LS1 car to try it on to see which one's messed up.

I believe the Monaro has the same engine. Ill have to keep an eye for one in the used lot.

Here is a list of all the cars the LS1 was offered in. And for what its worth, many of these cars have slight differences in the motor. If the in game cars start out with different power, then the end result would be different numbers. Pre 2001 the LS1 used the LS1 intake manifold. Post 2001 the LS1 used the LS6 manifold (possibly the reason why the stock numbers are altered, thus the end result is different since all part increase using a percentage)

The 00 LS1 Camaro only had 325 HP, the LS1 in the GTO had 350. There is the 00 Z06 Corvette which has the LS6 that was rated at 385 HP as well.

Heres the thing, the later LS1 and LS6 blocks were only slightly different (in fact they ran out of LS1 blocks toward the end of the run of 02 Camaro/Firebirds and used LS6 blocks). The GTO being much later in the line and at the end of the LS1's run was always found to be underrated at 350 HP, likely because it probably had an LS6 block in it.

Does this explain why mods would make a 150 HP difference? Nope except maybe the LS6 would respond to mods differently, but I can't imagine it would be that much in real life. probably just a glitch in the game. Maybe mileage -- needs an engine overhaul? Or Oil change?
