Okay, it's been quite a while - finished all my exams and finally I'm ready to race :)

We are racing on Laguna Seca this week, right? Any cars allowed?

Yup, any car within the regulations as usual. Nice to see you back, it was fun to race back at Fuji :)

I feel that the pitstops are going to be crucial when racing at Laguna, it's just a "little" bit more twisty than de la Sarthe.
Maybe lightweight over power is optimal here. Anyway, I think I'll be able to make it next week. Finally, school's over.

What great times we had at Fuji and Le Mans. You were awesomely fast to drive and so beautiful to handle through even the tightest corners. We had some difficulties along the way, but still you brought me two podiums and showed just how fast you can make a backmarker go.

Sign me up with the BMW M3 CSL for the third and final time. No doubt anymore after today's 1'23.8 time, a mark of the car's greatness when it's taken to its limits. *sigh*

Hey guys, i seem to have neglected this thread recently! Had big deadlines with work and tommorrow i'll have met them with room to spare meaning for the 1st time in ages i don't have to go into work on a Saturday!
Thanks for the compliments about me being quick; i never expect to be quick especially when i'm seeing times like Carbonox's being posted but somehow on the day the red mist decends and i find out how to use every last BHP, sometimes maybe a bit to keenly as my tyre wear seems to show! Didn't realise i've led every race so far at some point, that's good to know!

So anyway, Next Saturday (the 26th) it looks like we'll settle with plan B as it seems popular! I havn't got a clue what car to use for this circuit. I drove it last week with some of you guys but i was just dicking around in daft cars when really i should have got some practice in. Still, at least i can have a few laps on Saturday morning for once! See you all soon :)

Struggling with car choice again - do you still need to know by 8 pm Friday?

1:23!!!!

Looks like I'm getting lapped on this one. I'm driving the door handles off the CSL for Mere 26's I honestly didn't think I was all that bad til I joined this league!

Now relax everyone! :D I'm not gonna lap anyone, at least not in 30 minute races... although the track is kind of creepily short, isn't it? :sly:

I could definitely recommend using the CSL, since its excellent handling and acceleration (with proper transmission settings) seems to fit this track rather well. Oh, and I also knew I would struggle in the first round, but this series goes to show that practice always makes perfect :)

Hey guys I will not be able to make the race this weekend. I am spending the weekend at the beach with my girlfriend.

Sorry to hear that (from a single man's point of view :sly:), it seems that we'll have another small grid in Laguna. I somehow feel that we're gonna see a lot of BMW's on this round...

Unbelievable. I've just been called to work, unable to participate today too, going to be back at home around 11pm. Sorry >.<

Next week I'm gonna be there no matter what.

Lets hope more than just 3 of us turn up in an hours time. If not, at least we get big points, haha!

Hmph, for now every race has pretty much given everyone automatic high points -_- If there's only like 5 of us in this race, then we totally need to quickly get life into the Tuning Car Championship :sly:

Sorry guys..I don't think can join the race. Still on the way to my home now and stuck in this trafic :(

Smallest turn out yet! Good racing was had though :)

1st place; Filip_Ovik 35 points
2nd place; XPOWER180 30 points
3rd place; Carbonox 27points
4th place; me_joca 24 points
5th place; SlyckTires 21 points

Overall scores updated on post 2.

Yeah OK, on this round I started seeing lack of enthusiasm already. It's no wonder though, with an even decreasing lineup in the series...

I got pole position, but went badly wide at the first turn and had to give up all the positions (still in 5th, though, this shows where the series has gone). Got around me_joca, but spun at the Corkscrew on a stupid overtaking attempt from Filip and SlyckTires. From last position, I got back at me_joca, along with SlyckTires, but the former claimed back his position when I started struggling again and went off the course. Later I stabilized my standing on 3rd position, and chased X180 for a few laps with worn out tires.

He seemed to have more problems with them, but still I couldn't turn it into my second place, because I just didn't have the mentality... the old beauty of a CSL didn't behave that well, she probably got tired on the last round. My final attempt at the last corner went badly wide, and so I had to settle for a 3rd place in a lost, completely lost race. 👎

We'll see what the double round brings. At least I'm sure we can't go any worse from a 5 car grid...

As far as the series table goes...

LOL what pitstops?
How did you guys eke out your tyres so well? Mine were shagged.

Well, mine lost their best form long before catching X180, but it still felt somewhat easy to handle the car, even if the tires were closer to lifeless :)

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong in this championship. Played the track all morning and though I wasn't as fast as some, I got a 1:24.9. Then the race starts and it all goes wrong. I seemed to be losing grip by about 2 laps in and was getting penalties left, right and centre, only some of which I felt I deserved, even though got an advantage from none of them.

It's not like I can't play the game (54 golds, a gold on the Vettel Challenge for Monza and 1,1,2 on the Expert seasonals suggest some skill, I hope). Is it down to online vs. offline physics? A laggy connection? Not enough consistency?

I suppose not having full grids doesn't help - there's not a broad skill range to test against. But that seems fairly minor.

Anyway, thanks all for starting on time - at least I made my appointment!

Hey SlyckTires,

as for training for an online series, you should do it in your lobby, not offline. There is definitively a difference in handling online vs. offline.

If you want to see how you are doing compared to others, why don't you join Filip's room? He runs it pretty regularly around 8pm BST, mostly with 520pp on sports soft, no aids; guys like me_joca, Lahan33 and some others (incl. myself) race there as well. It's a pretty clean and fair room, and you might get a good baseline on where you stand :)

Just my $0.02 - I hope you guys don't mind me intruding :)

As you were.

Slyck, i can deafinatly vouch for kilttraeger on track; i've joined Filip's rooms a few times and he's (kilttraeger) always a fast, clean racer. I always practice in the online lounge, their is a marked difference. Also, car set up may be an issue. Perhaps your set-ups are too aggresive and make the car either twitchy to drive or force the tyres to wear out too fast, a problem that i encounter sometimes. Either way, don't get too worried about it, it's always good to see you on track and your contribution to the series has been much appreciated! 👍

Fun race this week? Don't get me started on why I missed it, but sorry.

I dunno about fun... way too little guys around, we could really do with the extra company on the next week's double event.

I've been practicing the Lexus LFA for some time (whenever I'm not doing any TOCA tests) but won't submit my times yet since I think there's a lot of room for improvement...

Don't worry, I'm not about to bail! Switching to the DFGT has been a learning curve which is now starting to pay off but these new seasonals are taking up my limited playing time midweek. So all the expert challenges are done now and I can concentrate on those online physics.

I'll bring in the LFA for both races. Feels about time to use it, since it has shown its competitiveness in others' hands already.

BTW, is the final round going to be the second theme week?
