This particular formula is proving to be quite popular, isn't it? 520 seems to be a sweet spot. What tyre regulations are you using? And are you as disillusioned about 4WD's blatant performance advantage as I am...?

Hi XPOWER180!
Hope it´ll be possible this saturday already! I´m exited ;)
(I´ll post this here ´cause it´s a pertinent question and more racers could have interest)About the cars: is it allowed cars from the likes of "nismo", "mugen", "spoon", "opera performance", etc, with no adjustable downforce?
Thanks. See you guys soon!

It does state "Road cars only" & as Mugen, Spoon & Opera are all Tuner cars I'd have a guess that they would not be allowed, that's normally the case anyway.

Yeah, it does seem to work well - it's a good balance between high power and accesibility for those fairly new to the game. It also has a massive range of cars available too in that range. Any tyres are allowed. Because pit stops will be involved it will be as much about tyre choice as it is about your power output! Are racing softs the best? How many pit stops will you need compared with someone on racing hards, and so forth? As for 4WD's, oh yes! I was racing against a friend the other day in a BMW. I thought i had that car nailed around the Nurburgring GPF and that for it's power it was near untouchable, but he came along in a very well tuned Subaru Legacy and was at least 2 seconds a lap faster. When we run identical cars there's nothing between us, we're that close so it deafinatly wasn't driver error etc!

It's such a fine line with the tuner cars isn't it? On one hand you have cars such as the Spoon S2000 which doesn't really seem any different to a regular S2000. Then there are cars such as the Opera 380Z which have downforce etc. So i think the fairest thing to say so as to avoid any confusion is that NO tuning company cars are permitted. An S2000 is fine but a Spoon S2000 for example is not. :)

With easter coming up, I won't be able to join on Saturday, should there be a race. I'm still interested in joining up with you guys at all the other races, though :)

The 1st race will be 14 laps of Suzuka. With pit stops this should work out at no more than 35 minutes. The room will have headsets enabled, tyre and fuel depletion on, no mechanical damage, penalties set to weak, fastest 1st grid, 3 minute race finish delay and grip reduction real.

I will open a private lounge so you all need to go to your community section and find me and click on my lounge icon.

The lounge will be open from 1330 UK time for qualifying. If you are joining us from overseas then please check your time difference. The race will start at 1400 uk time sharp, no delays!

You do not have to commit to all events; however, don't expect to win overall if you can't commit! ;)

A few words on track etiquette. This is a race, not a gentlemans drive through the Yorkshire Moors. However, racing is no excuse to be plain aggresive and un-sportsman like. Blocking is allowed on the basis of one defensive move per lap. Any excess weaving will be dealt with upon a genuine complaint being given and a review of the replay. I will be saving all race replays incase of such disputes! The same goes for ramming, excess shunting and any general bad track conduct. Lets race hard, but keep it fair for everyone :)

Post race penalties for any disputes that arise and are deemed to be genuine complaints will result in a +10 second penalty on your final time. But, i'm sure i won't ever have to do this!

The cars: The final guide on cars is this; All entrants must be using a Front engined, RWD car (FR). EXCLUSIONS INCLUDE; Mazda Furais, Any tuning company car, race cars and RM models (premium models that have been transformed in the GT Auto section) Their is no weight or power limit, only a 520 PP level.
All driving aids may be freely used except for the driving line - LEARN YOUR TRACKS PRE RACE DAY!

The track schedule will remain the same and will not be alltered or added to.

The car you intend to enter must be submitted to me by either posting on this thread or messaging me. Deadline is each friday at 2000 hours uk time before the race day. The same car may only be used 3 times during the entire duration of the race series.

There are no restrictions on the tuning options for your cars, feel free to tune and set up however you want.

Finaly, anyone who tampers with the room settings will instantly be disqualified from the whole series!

I hope this covers all possible questions and i'm really looking forward to the 1st race of what will hopefuly be a very memorable and succesful series ! 👍

I will be away until Monday/Tuesday, so if PSN allows, and races are hosted during this time, I will unfortunately be absent, but PSN seems to be persistent with screwing everyone. ;)

OK, well if the PSN is still down at midday tommorrow (uk time) then the race will be posponed until next Saturday, 30th of April. I'll post here to keep everyone involved updated but fingers crossed we can start tommorrow!

Any room for 1 more?

Saturday afternoon is also a good time for me, F1 quali permitting, of course!

Sure is, i thought about F1 qualy too but then i remembered the marvels of the recording age! :)

With the "maintenance" notice from Sony at least it looks like things will be on track soon so i'm hopeful for tommorrows race. Those who i've not added yet on PSN will be added as soon as the network is back up and running.

A final reminder to anyone in doubt of rules and regulations; please read posts 1 and 38. All your questions will be answered in those 2 posts, thanks :)

So i guess if the PS network is still down tomorrow we will post pone for next weekend to begin? So far it doent seem like it will be back up tomorrow which sucks :(

Hi guys,so if my timezone is GMT+8 then the race is at 9.30PM for me?
If so then I would love to join you guy's.My details below;

Psn;CRAB_SG
Car;Corvette Z06,will limit power as it's currently 555pp.
Aids;All off

Just a question though, what are the tire restrictions?

Because racing softs and hard's in GT5 wear at approximately the same rate, and those who use softs will have a blatant advantage in terms of speed.Heck you can practically use soft's the whole race like hard's and still be faster.

And are there any compulsory pit stop's?

Regards-
Phil.

Hi, the last place is yours if you'd like it :)

As for tyre restrictions, there are none. I've been playing about with some cars on the Nurburgring and with most, halfway into the 2nd lap with racing softs they start to lose their edge, 3/4 into it and it's becoming a fight. With mediums i'll get 3 clean laps, with hards easily 4. The trade off for the lesser tyres is slower lap times, hence why pit startegy will end up playing a major role in the whole series. Pits aren't compulsary but you may need to fill up at some point !

As for todays race, if their is no PSN by 1200 uk time then the race will be moved to next Saturday at the same time.

UK time is GMT+1 right? If so does that mean with my time zone being GMT+8 the race for me will be at 8.30pm?
I would love this last spot, thank you!
I will be running race mediums then.As for fill up's the Vette is surprisingly frugal,I enter it in the GT3 series and races are 30 minutes too.
If theres anyone out there who has decided their car, could I burden you to post it?The anticipation is killing me.:p

I think you are correct with your time calculations :)

I'm still testing 4 cars at the moment, i'm really unsure at the moment which car to use as some are clearly faster but others make their tyres last better. Fine line.

Fantastic,time is great then.:D
So just to recap, qualifying starts at UK time 13.30?
I am just wondering about hp and weight limits as well. Will there be any?
I applaud your decision for removing tuner/RM/race car's from the lineup though.Keeps things fair.

Yes, 1330 UK time for qualifying. No HP and weight limits, you can only enforce either weight and BHP or a PP limit. All questions will be answered in posts 1 and 38 :)
