That would be great but it's looking very unlikely :( However, it will give everyone extra time to test various cars with differing set ups and tyre combos - could make the 1st race extremely competetive!
 
Yep,but I suspect my Z06 will be at a disadvantage compared to the purpose built car's here..Im currently pretty happy with the way it runs on race med's and the tune of the car though.:) ARGH the anticipation is really killin me,I really wanna know what I'll be against..Patience is what I need lol.
 
I'm currently playing around with a de-tuned Lexus LFA and i think it's a genuine competitor. My only reservation is that compared with the other cars on my short list it's back end is far too lively, even with a good tuning set up!
 
Yeah,it does that but even on racing tyres?My Vette has no problems other than mid corner push.
 
Yeah, even on racing softs the back end is far too lively, especialy when entering turn 1 at Suzuka ! Just a slight bit of tyre off the track and that's it, spinning around where as the other's i'm trying seem to be far easier to recover. When the race is lasting over half an hour you don't want it to be a constant battle just to keep it in a straight line!
 
Phill, I sugest you check this (or other): http://24timezones.com/ to double check your time difference. I think you´re miss calculating by 1hour... if not, sorry, just trying to help :)
About the cars, I highly recomend you to run several cars, with (maybe) different settings. Not becaue the corvete isn´t a good car, but probably not the fastest (tough I don´t know wich model you´re using...) if you´re aiming for the podium ;) Tough, if you are happy with the balance of it, and gonna try with no pit stop, you may have a very good shot! That´s the beauty of (this kind of) racing, with so many possible stratagies. Just do what you´re more confortable with.
Now, about my choises, if I told you... I´d have to kill'ya :p
But I'll definitely use more than 1 car troughout the series, depending on track...
I know for a fact I´m not the fastest here (I know 2 guys here, and they´re fast (er)!), but I'll do my best to put up a good fight in every race, and will not be holding on to my favorit car, if it's not the best for that race, you know what I'm saying?
About today's race, I'm crossing my fingers so hard they're getting purple, haha

I am using a C6 Z06 and am happy with it,can get all 4 tires to wear evenly and has great traction.
Yeah I get what you mean but I really like the Vette even though it ain't the best.I've become quite attached to it.

You have summed up the whole feeling and idea behind this race series! Pleasure to have such like minded and enthusiastic racers on board for this event 👍
 
OK, just done a dummy run of 14 laps in arcade mode using the car i think will be best for me. 520PP, Racing soft tyres. Had to pit in after lap 8 as it was getting near uncontrolable. Strangely enough within 5 laps of pitting in it was worse than after the 1st set of tyres were on lap 8. Interesting. Anyway, final time over the line was 32:02.158.
 
Maybe it's fatigue in the later part of the race that causes you to use more brusque inputs..Btw are you using a wheel or DS3?
 
I'm using a DS3 but i'm not restricting what controllers/wheels can be used - free for all!

Well, it looks like we are not going to have the PSN up anytime in the near future so it's with great regret that i have to announce that we will be delaying the 1st race until next Saturday the 30th of April. :(

Still recovering from not racing today :( LOL oh well...
I was pretty much set for this race regarding car and tyre choise, and even pit stop stratagy. Anyway, this way, I (we) have more time to fine tune the car or even to try out some other that may end up being first choise.

Absolutely ! Any doubts that competitors may have about their choice can be ironed out in the next 7 days - surely PSN will be back by then ?
 
XPOWER, once PSN is back up, will you be issuing friend requests to all those who aren't currently on your list, or should I send you one.
 
Yes, i will be sending out friend requests but feel free to send one to me as you may get online before me when PSN finaly goes up !

I'm wondering if they're using the outage as an opportunity to actually make some improvements.

Actually, the delay has been helpful to me, since as much as I want to get into it, I'd had some second thoughts about my car choice, so I've been busy testing.
 
Me too, i thought i had the right car then i tried out something else and although it was no quicker (actualy it's a bit slower!) it was easier to handle and that will make life easier on a 30 minute+ race!
 
I was using a car that was great so long as you make no errors, but as soon as you got too liberal with the back end, you're off. Managed to tame it a little but it's still loads faster than the tamer choices, so long as you don't get it wrong.

But you can't "borrow" the cars for online use, or has that been changed?
 
You also can't change the settings of a borrowed car so it wouldn't be wise to use one if you have a driving style that you feel is unique to you.

What I meant to say was that I will send you the car, and you will send it back at the end of the series.

That's my idea of 'renting'
 
I figured that it was so, and I really want PSN to stop undergoing maintenance. ;)
