I see you have a full grid already, but if some doesn't show up I would like to be on the reservelist please.
 
Hello XPOWER, My PSN is ONESPACE, I use a wheel, been racing online for years and I'm not to shabby. I'm not to sure of the time difference (Florida U.S.), but I'll figure it out. Just saying if anybody doesn't show or is actaully an asshole driver, let me know and I'll try and fill in or start the points from the bottom. The only lag I really ever get is racing with guys from across the pond. I do have hi-speed, but if I see it (lag) I will drop back and only try and pass on the straight a way.

OK guys, i've added you both to the reserve list. With Sonys announcement that some services will be resumed within a week, i think it's a big likelyhood that we will be delayed for yet another week. As long as they make the network secure then i can live with that! :)

Thanks, let's hope PSN gets up very soon..... so we all can resume our racingcareers and stop climbing the walls. :nervous:
 
I could as well join as a reserve driver. If there are ever free seats, I could maybe drive a race or two, but I doubt I'd have time for a full season at the moment, even on Saturdays.

Will put you on the reserves list. Race time is 1400 uk time with qualifying/practice at 1330 uk time.

It is a shame, we should be approaching our 2nd event now but with absolutely no sign of the PSN being restored then i think we will be waiting at least another week.
 
It does suck that PSN has been down for so long but they are really trying now to make the network better and more secure so this won't happen again. To me it does not seem like it will be up for this weekend from what they have been saying on the PSN blog. If you have not checked it out here is the link for the blog http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/27/qa-1-for-playstation-network-and-qriocity-services/ they have been good with posting updates just about everyday now.
 
I expect you'll still start from the first round? :) That way the series wouldn't be cut to 5 or 6 races just because of pathetic hackers who seem to have serious personal issues (and I'd have a bigger chance to enter some race along the way :sly:).

Thanks for the link, i think it seems very unlikely that we will be racing this week. If it means we get a secure network then i'm fine with that plus we get a bit more practice time at Suzuka with our chosen cars.
 
What's everyone driving? I haven't even picked a car yet. But I'll do that soon.
I'm just worried that my set-up won't be tested enough with the online physics.

And what times have you guys reached, to get some milestones to reach?
 
Are online physics different ? Bummer, i didn't know that :( So all my testing may be wasted and pointless then?
 
Umm... I'm not sure, but I've found and I think that the general consensus is the lack of grip online. It may make a balanced set-up a bit understeery. That's at least what I think.
 
This is quite interesting. When i've been doing practice laps in career mode in my favourite NSX (at the Nurburgring GP-F usualy) i can get the back end out easily on every corner and get some nice drifts. Just done a race in arcade mode; same car, same track yet not once would the car drift or even break loose. All aids except ABS were off and the car had the exact same settings as used in the other modes. I wonder why they have such drastic changes - it should be constant throughout.

I noticed that in arcade mode my lap times were slower than when I was testing in carrier mode. I was wondering the same thing about it being consistent.

Wow, great time - we have our winner ! I'm no where near that time, thing is though i'm not a great driver, i freely admit that i'm probably below average. But, i'm a clean racer and i rarely leave the track. I'm just going to enjoy the race series and be happy to drive amongst 15 other good drivers :)
 
Not chosen my car yet either.:crazy:

Should have a decision by tonight though.:)

Is that the GTR? I was in to the :05's but it looks like I need a little more work. I suspect practice rather than setup.

Having said that, are you using aftermarket aero, or the spoiler it comes with? I stuck with the original for aesthetics, but that might be a bit pointless, since it's a standard car anyway.

I only recently found you could put spoilers on the standard cars.

Deffo! Absolutely gagging for some online racing action now, after 2 weeks of b spec grinding and license gold chasing.
 
Got some fast drivers here by the look of it so far; i'm struggling to get anything below 2:09.xxx !! Must have tried 20+ cars now!
