What's really funny about this are the other possible uses.
For instance, friends of our have a webcam at home and their answering machine in the same room as their two macaws.
When calling home at lunch time, they activate the webcam via remote. The change in the birds activity and attention is fun to watch when they here people talking to them. Absolutely hilarious.
On the other front, my cousin had the suspicion that his wife was cheating on him. He set up a similar system (laptop hidden in closet, running out to webcam perched on top of monitor). The webcam simply snapped an image every 60 second while he was off at work. He caught three days worth of images and filed for divorce. Tough to dispute infidelity when he had pictures.
