True, but at least the spider will be gone. ;)
Then if it was the only thing in your house keeping other insects away, say hello to the roaches and ants and mosquitos for me. :)

I'll take those anyday over a spider that big.

Goodness, I'm going to have nightmares tonight...

I have a couple of stories. My Mum is s__t scared of spiders, so I make fun of her whenever possible. Here goes:

#1. One time, long ago, before I was even a twinkle in my old man's eye, my parents used to live in a flat. On one fine day, my Mum went upstairs only to find that a Huntsman spider with a body about 4cm across (

) was lurking in amongst the shadows of the cieling. Well, she screamed loud enough for the Chinamen to hear, and if she had pineed herself to the wall any harder, she would have become part of the wall. Well, my Dad had to dispose of it, and pretty quick-smart. From that day forward, my Mum wouldn't go near a spider.

#2. Last year, a big spider was found to be building a web out in the back shed, where we keep the deep-freeze, and hence, a lot of our food.

Anyway, i was asked to go out the back and deal with it. So I promptly picked up a thong and squashed it. I took it out onto the road and left it there. Of course, I had to clean up the freezer top, and for about a month my Mum wouldn't go near the deep-freeze. My brother, Dad and me had to get everything for her.

:D

Nah, some other spiders (hopefully smaller) will take up the slack. ;)

:odd:

Anyway, no major spider stories here, except that as I was walking out the door once, I noticed a tarantula hanging right there above my head. Wow, did that scare me.

Oh, duh. Monitor=lizard, why didn't I see that?

Shows what i know. I thought it was one of them big blue lights you hang that zaps the bugs when they fly in. But then again, thats a pretty stupid conclusion, especially since cockroaches cant fly, and arent attracted to light.
