Hi pickr00,

Glad you decided to turn up here on GTPlanet. It's really a great place to network with other online racers and be able to weed out the good, the bad and the ugly. ;) Perhaps you can sign up for SCC League here and do some one on one challenges. There hasn't been too much activity on the lower 3rd of the tier.

I also hope to see you at my F355 Challenge Vallelunga event this Sunday (4:00 pm EST).

Cheers,
Jeff

Hello there,

I've owned this game for a few months now and have noticed quite a few of you regulars online and have to say the racing is much more fun and clean. I'm not always on pace, especially when it's a track you are doing some serious time on for your series, but I think this smaller league may be better suited to my limited practice time.

Hey plckr00...👍
Good to see You here.Always nice to see a clean, competitive driver joining the fun!Welcome!:)

Yes, I would like to participate in your one on one league. It looks like I could challenge PhanTomI according to the latest standings. Is this correct and how do you guys contact each other for setting up race times?

Yeah, you can challenge any of the 4 players above you, although I haven't seen those guys around lately.

Simcoeace: maybe we need to come up with a solution for this - if a block of 4 players at the bottom don't show activity for a while, then new players can get stuck with no challenge until someone shows up.

Anyway, Plckr00, it's best to send a private message to whoever you are challenging, and when you're sure it's going ahead, not a bad idea to put a post in this thread saying that it's happening. And when your challenge is finished, you post the outcome in the racing league results thread (just copy and paste previous post in there).

Also, don't let your pace be a reason not to join the 355 Challenge event (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=127642&page=16). It absolutely makes no difference what pace anyone has. The main objective is simply for everyone to take part, and have the experience. Sure, there are always 2 or 3 players doing fairly serious laptimes, but there is always a wide spread of pace across the whole field.

Welcome, you're now on the ladder plckr00.

It's disappointing that there aren't more challenges taking place. So far, the SCCRL seems to work pretty much as hoped for: most of the matches have been very close with 3:2 results, which is an indication that, without a lot of practice, the racing tends to be more equal. The matches only take between an hour & an hour & a half (depending on the amount of chatting & the cars/tracks chosen), which means it doesn't take a whole lot of time to get an event completed.

"No tuning, no training, no worries." 👍

Hi, I know I'm late to the party but please put my name in the hat!. I'm new to this format so please take it easy on me! :)

vompatti, I am available to race tonight and tomorrow night, just post here if one of these days suit you.

Tomorrow suits for me, so let's do it tomorrow. My evening is free tomorrow, so PM the time for me when you know what suits for you.

What happened to PhanTomI? I tried to PM him for a challenge and came up nowhere to be found. I'm wondering if he should be moved down (or off) along with lpb-nissan.

It's only 2 days since his last sign-in to PSN, so he is still around. Try to send him a message through PSN, maybe he'll notice it better from there than here. I don't think he should be moved down at least not yet, because he after all has taken part in one challenge. There are some drivers on the list that aren't dropped down even though they haven't taken part in any challenges.

Sure, I just didn't know if he was around or not -wasn't aware he did a challenge previously. I actually got challenged by turnupdaheat, so I'll take it from there.

Just a quick note to confirm that we proceeded with my challenge to plckr00 last night. It ended with me recording a hardfought victory. The racing was fast, close, very clean and very enjoyable.

From my options plckr00 (another Jeff from the USA) chose the F430 GT2 and the tracks we raced on were Mugello, VIR, Vallelunga (Wet), Autoclub Speedway and Infineon (Wet).

We were very evenly matched and there was often very little in our best laptimes. In fact, at Infineon we posted identical best laps, although having said that he did finish 8 seconds ahead of me!

My hat off to you Jeff! I look forward to meeting you on the track again.

Congratulations De**k ,commiserations Jeff...better luck next time:tup: (if it is against me You probably will:guilty: )

Hey Derek I think You must do the copy\paste stuff in the League results thread, according to the rules of Master Peter.:sly:

Thanks for your kind words, Derek and Arvore. Congrats to Derek for some fine racing. I look forward to doing some more challenges...

Cheers Jeff!

I know this is the wrong thread but you should consider joining us for the final race of the F355 Challenge Series on Sunday week. 20 Laps of Spa followed by 15 laps in the wet should be epic and I would have no doubt you would be competitive.

I see vompatti already updated the rankings, reflecting his victory in the challenge we had. It was a clean one, 3-0 (in fact 4-0 if we count the warmup race) and that alone leaves no doubts on who is the fastest :)

Well done, believe it or not I had fun doing this, regardless of the results. Wish you luck on you push to the higher places of this ranking, I'm sure you'll be fighting the big guns very soon. Cheers!

Meanwhile, Master Biggles, with this challenge and on the verge of taking my well deserved summer holidays I must put an end to my already scarse online activity, until next September. So, if needed, take me out or put me to the bottom, because I will be unable to show up to any future challenge for at least one month. And, again, thanks for setting this up, great idea, and this time it worked much better than the defunct FC "Ladder".

Just got plckr00's PM. Oh, IT'S OON!

Well, it's not on yet, I have to receive a reply to my reply. But then it'll be on!

And if plckr00 is running turnupdaheat close, then I don't see me doing any ladder climbing any time soon...

Thanks for the races, I had fun too 👍 Even though the numbers seem harsh, we were imo very evenly paced, in all races except maybe I had an edge on Mont Tremblant. And I'm sure if we had driven Paul Ricard, I would've been in trouble in there! In the warm-up race I had hard time keeping up with you at the first laps and I was a bit lucky to win it. In Infineon you slept (?) on lights and I got the lead already on the start. I think that you were clearly faster on the first laps and without me holding you back, you would've ran away in those laps so that I wouldn't been able to catch you anymore. And of course in Spa I had a little help from your visit on the grass :)

It was interesting to notice how Hun had bigger balls than me  He was always gaining on me in the places were you need guts to go fast, like Eau Rouge and the first triple right hander in MT. Your pace was impressive otherwise too, considering the recent amount of SCC driving you've done. There's lots of raw pace you got there!

This is a good time to get me Peter! I've been playing GT5P, so my SCC feel is messed around now. Maybe tomorrow?

Well I think Jeff needs a boost up in the Ladder so ...are up for it jjaisli?:sly::)

Could we wait until after the 355 race??? I need time to learn to take Eau Rouge properly :dunce:

Sure. I might not be able to do anything until the weekend--let's see how it goes.
