hey guys welcome to seattle. classic track with fun, light cars...i fear that all my weight will kill me here on the hill. but we'll see

seattle-family cup-difficulty 10.

see you at the races.

By my count, MissingLink should be carrying 240kg, you should have 235kg, and somebody else is up around 230kg. Is anything going to happen to equalize beyond the 200kg maximum the game allows?

I don't believe any of the City Courses have a "Track Meet". :grumpy:

If you've read my posts or known me over the last few years, you'll know that I'm pretty reserved and don't usually get worked up. That being said,

Dammit! :banghead:

I just realized that my cars for Week 8 were setup for the wrong course. I noticed it on my practice car tonight when it seemed too tightly sprung for Seattle. Once I dialed it in, I took it over to Yosemite and cut 1.243 off my best practice lap within four laps! That means that this little miscue cost me around 12 seconds in the 10 lapper.

My hour of practice this week (sick kid :indiff: ) was spent focusing on lines and not at all on setup. After all, I had the car just the way I like it.

Dammit! :ouch:

Back to regularly scheduled practice...

By the way, excellent times on the podium last week, and congrats to TML and Luxy for taking me down a notch. This is going to make for a mighty interesting finish!

well i think im going to get some practace done today. with only 2 races left im going to put the extra time to do everything i can to gain whatever points that will come my way. i could still win this but theres some strong competition. and i think the winner will who ever puts in the most time and effort. so off i go.

Hey YLG, Seattle Circuit doesn't have a Track Meet. What do you want us to race on? Family Cup?

ya, where do we race? this is the only day i have i could do this and now that day is done. so i did 10 laps in practace. ill pm them to you. if you deside to do something else than can we have another week?

im going out today so today is shot. i got work tomorow. and even though i have the weekend off; my uncels daughter is going to be here so i have to share the tv with her. and when i mean share, i mean she watches it so i can run away from that energy facilitie and do something else. if shes not watching tv she wants to play. so unless they deside to leave for a couple hours than i wont have time.

BUMP

This is getting pretty ridiculous. It's two days before the deadline and we don't have a race that we can actually run 👎 What gives YLG?

I wanted to run my race Thursday but didn't have 'a race' to run in. I don't have anymore time. Can I have a couple extra days to get the run in?

EDIT: :irked: This is crap. I don't have anytime to run the 'invisible' race this weekend. Are you going to extend it? I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Ya, extend to next week, since I am nearly outta time as well. That's 4 votes for an extension already....

EDIT: By next week, I say we just bump the series by one week, not have two races due during next week.

I'll vote for it, too. I've got time tomorrow, but I'm getting bored with the VirtualTime Acura TSX, even though the crew has it well sorted and it's fun to drive. I'd welcome a chance to spend my allotted GT4 time actually advancing my completion percentage and winning prize cars.

Extending sounds good to me. I really hope this series doesn't go to pot so close to the end :ouch:

sorry guys i had no idea....anyone think of anything?? i didnt know there wasnt a track meet.....ill do a little digging, and well give this one an extra week....reallly sorry guys.

ill post up the race by tonight, before i go to bed...im sorry guys...

I think we may as well do as Bobman has already done, and run 10 laps under GT Mode > City Courses > Seattle > Practice. I believe that if you 'Save Replay' instead of 'Save Ghost Replay', it'll save the whole ten laps, although I haven't tested that. It'd be much like the track meet, minus the AI.

you would be correct. :)

even though i would not turst it but the total time that it says when you look at the save file is correct too. i guess in track meet it saves everything second, here it just seems to save only the completed laps. anyway i would still add it up using the calulator just to be on the safe side.

I'm not even going to waste my time in this event anymore. I'm dropping out (like it's going anywhere right now). 👎 👎

I'm starting to think the same thing bleu. However, sitting at the top of the points, I am having a hard time officially withdrawling myself.

Don't do that, Bleu!

I've alrready got M31's results; he ran the 10 laps like Bobman did and Luxy is planning. I've got all the results from the preseason through Round 8 tabbed. Run the 10 laps and add up the time and PM it to me; I'll take over for the remaining rounds if necessary. We've gotten most of the way to the end, it would be a shame to have it die now.

Duke, as much as you aren't in a great car, my car was only marginally faster than yours, I won the last two events on track knowledge, which is worth 150 kg ballast, which is clearly a significant amount of ballast. With the way that the cars are/were balanced, this series should be kinda similar to the real one, with the RSX's on top, followed by the Mazda's and Bimmer's, or something similar to that order, which I find strangely ironic. (Although the real thing sees the Mazda 6 near the top, not the Protege.) I'm not nagging on you, but from my testing, only 3 of the cars are not really balanced correctly, we don't all have the same skill as virtual drivers.

The Missing Link

Oh, heck, I'm the first person to admit I am less skilled and practiced than many online competitors; you're not nagging on me.

But the REWARDS system is not just designed to equalize the laptimes of the cars; it's also designed to equalize the points race and to keep it very close right down to the last event. With several good cars in the hands of several excellent drivers, that element is missing since the ballast weights were topped out a few rounds ago.

As a personal opinion I think that we have manage to get together a very good team of drivers ….. it is obvious that YLG has some unforeseen personal problems and he deserves our unconditional support ... we are too close to the conclusion to give up.

Regardless of our position in the leader board lest continue and finis this championship as team.

No big deal ylg, RL things are much more important than this racing series.

Is the deadline moved to this Sunday(the 21st)?

the official race is at the top of page 1...hence updated...and yes the deadlines have all been pushed a week.

A two lap family cup - should give some close results, set up will be highly important this round.

.....................tumble weeds blow across the SCCA SWTC threads......................

well i got my race done and im not as happy as i could have been. in 2 laps with traffic will make this a race more about luck rather than skill. I put alot of time and effort into practace to make sure i dont come as second best. i do kinda like our normal rounds cause there will be those couple of laps that can make a difference in you overall time but you still have atleast 6 laps of what you can bring to the table...

anyway, theres only one more round left to go after this one. in ways im glad its almost over. it been REAL FUN and im glad to be apart of it but this has not been a smooth challenge. anyway i hope that we will have many more close competitive challenges in the future.

speakings of challenges, has any of you seen my RACE OF SPORTS CARS challenge. i though it would have been popular. there some new ideas that incorperated into it.

Are you planning on sitting out Laguna Seca? If so, please have TML, Luxy, and YLG join you.

Looking forward to Mosport and Laguna Seca,
