Since none of those have anything to do with anything in this discussion (Engine placement? Really?), you are basically just affirming that Porsche cannot be superior "Because GT-R."

Well, say I wanted to buy something as fast as the GT-R, that is a Porsche. why would I pay for a GT2, which has less luxuries and is a tad bit slower. You'd be buying it for the badge at that point. And that would be a waste of money.

Because:
The driving experience of a 911 is so radically different from a GT-R it isn't even funny. Would be like saying, yes, an STi is as fast as a new M3 down a drag strip, but anyone that enjoys driving would take the M3, for numerous reasons.

But lul, arguing that numbers are the only thing that make a car.

And with that flagrant missing of the point, I too give up.

What YOU think is fun to drive is an opinion. So basing a point off the fact of the "experience" is something that isn't going to get you much of anywhere.

I think the question lies in, have you driven a 911?

Now that you've had an entire page for your argument, can we please get back on topic?

I'm kinda dissapointed with the colour choices, and I'll wait to see what the price is in BC. Of course, i have to go through college first, so i wont have to worry about buying one for a while yet!

Has anyone AE86'd the new GT86 on PS? If not, I'll get to it for nostalgia purposes.

I tried to get back on topic, but then eczee (I think that's how it is) decided no, i'm going to keep arguing.

I'll put a bit of cheer back in to this thread:

EDIT: it looks a bit awkward because the side profile of the car is hardly of a consistent height...

-> This GT 86 looks so much like its destined for the Euro-market! just look at the gallery at Jalopnik!

- Euro-sized license plate? CHECK
- Rear fog lamps/lights? CHECK (normally Euro-market cars feaure this cool standard lights)
- TOYOTA emblem? CHECK (normally, US & JDM markets omitted placing Toyota emblems on most of their current models.)

^ Oddly enough, there are no turn side/signal-markers/lights!?

^ That emblem is so cool!

-> GT 86 sounds too plain (ie. fax machine). Toyota Corolla Sport 86 would be a better name for this coupe.

-> As a Scion? Scion aE!

^ Why? (xA, xB, tC, xD...iQ...) aE would be a better name; it follows Scions ALL CAPSLOCK alphabet style & as a honest homage to the AE86! :sly:

-> Interior is quite decent too!

Still really like it. Don't like the naff rear spoiler on the Euro-market version (if that's what it is) and not wild about the slightly odd "wake" left by the badge on the hood, reckon it'd look better with a central crease or two wider lines a little like the 7th gen Celica.

There's something about the interior I really like too. Some of the details are a little odd but I get the impression it's very much driver-focused and they've probably given it a good driving position too.

Interior colors are a bit too gimmicky for me. I mean, what cow did that steering wheel come off of, again? Still... looks lovely, even on production wheels and tires.

What I'm worried about is the change of name... GT86? Does that mean that they're now targetting a more relaxed market demographic? Does it mean the car will be a bit softer? I hope not.

Power schmower. Power is easy. The hard part is getting the car balanced right, and I'm keen to find out if they have.

I'm not too fond of the name change either. I've always known this thing as the FT86 till now, even a simple letter change (which given the positioning of keyboards would be lol if it was an actual typo ) makes an odd amount of change to the name.

Oh, now if it were a typo that would be quite a laugh.

Lets hope it doesn't become a soft and wollowy* GT car.

I quite like this car. The specs sound fairly nice, around 200 Horsepower for 1,200 kg of weight, not to bad. What is an estimated price for this car?

According to Autoblog the GT 86 IS the European market car.

http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/26/europes-toyota-gt-86-sports-car-revealed-arrives-june-2012/

Edit: according to the video the car sounds broken at low RPM's, and like music to the ears screaming at 7k. :D

Edit 2: Can anyone find a picture of this whole car sitting still? Would like to see it with those wheels. Love that color too.

What Video mate ,seeing how it Evolved First thoughts is I like the Concept II Better To Be honest and still love the Original Concept (The one in GT5).Will Give it more time to grow on me though.

Now lets see it Sideways Moahahaha

Gorgeous car. Would love to own one. It's nice to finally see a red thread running between the design of the new international Toyotas. You don't doubt the GT86's kinship with, say, the new 2013 Camry.
