I disagree.

Scion is a brand for the younger crowd (it has a insane following in the USA) and its cars are of the same quality and reliability as Toyota.

All their cars fit their brand image well, and if anything, their cars are better than Toyota's.

The FR-S will make Scion even better, and will attract more potential consumers to see what Scion is all about.

No, Scion is a Toyota. The only difference is better looking wheels, a body kit and a few better asscessories.
Most people who are going to buy the FR-S will debadge the Scion logo and put a Toyota badge on it

I just don't understand this. Completely ridiculous if you ask me.

This is Scion now. Not Scion when the brand was first launched.

@Roczx That's why I said their quality is equal :dunce:. And why the hell would you rebadge your car? That's like putting a Chevy badge on a Sunfire. I for one, would be proud to say I have a Scion

The way you said that they are quality is equal and said that they are better makes it seem that they are a different company then Toyota. But they are just badge engineered Toyota.

That's like putting a Chevy badge on a Sunfire.

Not quite. See the Sunfire was never sold as a Chevy, so that would make that person look stupid. The Sunfire is different enough from a standard Cavalier I would think.

Edit: Just realized the above doesn't make sense. :p

However, the G37 is a Skyline, and the 350Z is a Fairlady, and the FR-S is an 86. That doesn't make a badge swap bad at all.

I don't really see the problem with re-badging something like this. If you don't like the Scion brand it's still a Toyota at the end of the day. Pretty much the only thing that makes it a Scion in the first place is the badge.

It's not like someone putting Ford badges on their Chevy or a Ferrari badge on their Fiero.

He is the typical nasioc broe.

I'm not on nasioc or and forum specifically for cars for that matter. I just like XXR 527's, which apparently is against the law here...? Sure, you could go with some Rota's or Works wheels but I like the look of 527's, plain and simple.

Cheap knock-off wheels are the devil here. :p

I'm talking looks. The FR-S stanced with 527's, in my opinion, would look great. Performance wise, I'd laugh if anyone suggested XXR's. My app never let's me upload photos so one I get home I'll post a wrx with 527s that looks incredible.

Here you go. Can't see them all too well but there's no denying they look great.

Its distinctly evident in the redesign of the xB. Bigger, heavier, quieter just to please the old people who bought them in droves. The xA can still pass as a car for young people, the tC might... Maybe... But considering the biggest selling point for that now is the ridiculous amount of rear seat room in a sports coupe... I think I'm missing the point.

Your MAN-card just got invalidated permanently. :grumpy:

I'd NEVER EVER stance it, but I like the look.

The shifter goes the wrong way... I'll be taking a manual anyway but I hate when they set the semi-auto up like this.

The wrong way?
Up to upshift, down to downshift?
Truth is, unless you drive sequential boxes all the time where down is up and up is down, there's nothing to 'hate".
Looking around, most of the manumatic cars are indeed up to upshift, down to downshift. Only the X6M is an up downshift and down upshift setup.

Performance wise, I'd laugh if anyone suggested XXR's.

MKAaaaY............

lol I hate when they are up to upshift and down to downshift. It confuses the heck out of me.

Mazda 3's are like real sequential. Up to downshift, Down to upshift. I remember seeing it when I was buying my MS3.

"In Australia, Up to Upshift, Down to Downshift!"

...I'll get my coat.

In all seriousness though, I'm leaning towards the Subaru. It seems they did more work on the car then Toyota did, and I just like Subaru better as a manufacturer, even if they are the same car.

Oh my! Someone has said bad things about the stance look and nobody has jumped down their throats yet! Where are the "stance is everything", "form>function", "I don't care if my tires last 200 miles and if my car can't corner, it gets me b!tches." comments?

And guys, let's get it right. Pull to upshift, push to downshift. It just feels better.

it's the logical way to do, when you accelerate, your body gets pull back, hence pulling back the stick is the natural direction of the force. Dunno which monkey decided it should be otherwise.

I'm surprised there isn't a better looking strut tower brace. And these pictures debunk the post about not having silver lettering on the intake manifold cover for some cost savings on the Scion.

Looks like some excessively long coolant lines in there on the right. (driver's side)

Actually, I'm pretty sure that is the Subaru.

Which coolant lines?
