boxer 4, yup subaru.

They all have the same engine. You are aware of that, right? If yes, your comment makes zero sense.

I think the issue is location more than how long they are.
So, the narrow tube running from the airbox towards the cabin. WHy does it look like it's only purpose is to amplify intake noise? It looks like a right angled trumpet.

Still don't see the problem?

I do like the oil filter being right up top though.

Its in a good location imo 👍. I also like the way the engine sits low (center gravity) engineering at its best :dopey:. Ohh!!!!!!!!!! Alternator and compressor covers (remove those right away, if I ever own one). Also get rid of the panasonic battery (no brand discrimination intended when said). HOLLLYYYYYY SH%*&T Look at the strut towers. Hats off to toyota. Plastic wheel wells (not sure , but it looks like it lol). Talk about weight reduction.

Don't dodge the swear filter.

Damn.... Didnt see the oil filler location right by the oil filter :dopey:. Talk about convenience:tup:. Yes this is my first time seeing this, my world is filled with chevy V8s, RB26s, and VR38s.

Hey, is that the oil filter right behind the air filter box?

You are mad at Toyota because of the LF-A? :odd:

For similar reasons, yes. It's great that they produced such a stunning sounding supercar, but the aesthetic magic of the concept, which so dearly I hoped would be found in the production model, was lost.

Wow. Is it usually right there for all boxers? Looks like an easy oil change.

It's a good location as long as you let it drain before you take it off. Otherwise it's just going to spill all over the front of the engine.

What I like most about the oil filter is that it's an actual oil filter that I can buy at Walmart. Don't you have to get those cartridge things from the dealer?

It looks Like an exhaust gas recirculation valve for emissions.
I must say, it's one ugly engine bay, and I hope the ABS is an optional extra.

For most of my cars I would purchase official branded oil filters from the dealer only. For my Cobalt I get free oil changes as part of the deal, so it's done at a local Valvoline shop and I could care less about this car. :sly:

It's plastic. No way it's used for the EGR system.

Thankfully, no.
Some toyotas, trucks, but really, you're already under the car to drain the oil, leave the filter there. This just creates a pool of oil in the cup.

The tube could be for intake noise, but I would assume it's part of the vacuum system.

As for the ABS, I too would like it to be optional, but I have a feeling it won't be because the NHTSA has mandated ABS in all new cars as of I don't know when. Not sure if that's gone into effect yet.

Also, oil filters. I just use a good ol' Fram in my car because the oil is changed before 3000 miles anyway. This last oil change wasn't more than 2700 miles, actually.

I read that intake noise is noticeable, I haven't seen the article where they singled that part out.
I think it looks as cheap as the concept sounds.

Purolator? Ain't that whut gran-mammy makes coffee in?

I read that too about the intake resonance pipe, but that unit with the vacuum hose out the other side, made me think it was something more complicated than something for making noise. Also I've seen rubber hose used in EGR before, so I thought why not plastic.

I could always take the ABS out as I've done before, but I would prefer if it was available from the factory without it. Maybe the light weight R version I read is planned to be coming out in Japan will come without it.

And without aircon.. electric windows.. central locking.. In other words, as basic and light as possible.

Pull the ABS fuse on a new car and you're gonna end up with a really 🤬 brake balance. Most new cars have electronic brake distribution.

That tube is for intake noise. One of the articles mentions that it has one.
Guess what the first thing I'll be replacing is?

Bogus. I bet one of those really cool Japanese tuner shops will come up with an ABS-delete system because you can't drift with ABS.

That's why I was hoping, it will be available with out it, a lot less hassle, and I've done more than pull the fuse if that's what you mean.
