Can't be good for a car to have no tires

For some reason, I actually like the Hatchback. I'd put it right up there with the Subaru.

Love the hatch and I too like the STI hatch though most people prefer the sedan

I was expectng all out hatred of the hatch to be honest, I'm suprised you guys like it. I like it and would definitely drive it, but there's no denying it looks pretty weird while being awesome. As an avid bmxer, I basically need a hatch(I love them regardless and would take a hatch over a sedan all day unless offered a hawkeye Sti) if I want to keep the roof/trunk racks off the car or my wheels on the bike so it'll fit in the back. I'm looking at the veloster turbo now too since I do get terrible snow here, even though it's been 50+ degrees in december here somehow... and I want to be able to easily carry my bike and giant bags of paintball gear around easily. Along with people friends when going to skateparks/paintball fields outside of NY. I just wonder how insurance/pricing of the veloster turbo will compare to a 2011 wrx or older Sti.

Hatch's are just awesome. It's a wonder why hatch's and wagons are so popular in other countries. Idk why they don't catch on in the US.

actually they are catching on in the us now several car companies FOrd,subaru, Chevy mazda and hyundai are reporting that people are requesting more hatches and wagons.

Sports car that I can take anywhere and throw my gear in the back of, hell, there's no reason why they shouldn't be wanted.

Because in america, they prefer SUVs. Because they are tough, and rugged, and can go off roading, and all that other nonsense.

There's just as many off road enthusiasts as there are other types of car enthusiasts here.

You're the one with "big tires" as your title. And where is "local" anyway?

Chicago, I think you've asked that before.
I drive a Fit 100 miles a day for god's sake.
The "big tires" thing has nothing to do with off-roading.

90% of SUVs never see dirt roads, let alone off roading. Ironic, amirite?

No, Americans like big huge SUVs because they're high up off the ground and if you get into an accident, the other guy's bumper won't smash your skull in through the side windows.

I'd say 90% of the SUV's for sale in America aren't even capable of real off-roading. Hauling a small trailer with dirtbikes to a track with a dirt parking lot would be a lot to ask of som of them. Jeeps, you can do anything. Nissan Murano, lolno.

Yeah, that's basically my point.

That's just a bonus.
The high driving position is a huge part.

I figure if I have two, 2 seat sports cars, it would be just as practical as one 4 seat sports car. Right guys? Right?

As long as you don't mind your friend driving and your house is the rendezvous point.

My Forester Loves dirt and snow! hehehehehehe
Many a fun winter in VA and PA!!!

CES '12 -> Just saw the USDM BRZ. I like it quite a lot!!!
