Many Japanese sports cars... and even non-sports cars... have very narrow foot wells... personally, I think a knee pad is a necessity on a modern performance car... and thankfully, it appears I'm not alone.

-> I do hope Subaru keeps those taillight design, it reminds me of a VW Corrado:

^ Looks like this "SVX" is on the right track. :)

Their Fake - The bit on the bootlid looks to be paint or tape and the other part looks to come from a Impreza sedan.

I'm a huge fan of the knee pad for the driver's left knee to go against the center tranny tunnel. The only other car I've noticed this in is the S2000. I'd like to figure out a way to get one made for my car.
How about one for the passenger side?

I have a magazine feature from a new car mag and the Toyota has pop-up lights. Any word on that? Or is it an old artist's impression? I can't read the Chinese text.

I'd expect it's an old artist's impression giving it styling cues from old Celicas/MR2s/Supras. A really unimaginative one, in other words :p

That picture is prime for 'shopping in translator-san ;)

I agree, the stock car look far, far nicer. The nose just doesn't work on the G Sport.

Speaking of which, I almost just spelt it without the 'r', don't car companies hire people to not make mistakes like that in the name (don't even mention the Mitsubishi Tbox)?

I'm in agreement that the regular FT-86 looks better than the one Kaz is standing next to. I'd go as far as saying the regular FT-86 is the best looking car to come out of Japan since the FD RX-7.

"The evolution model of the FT-86 concept was shown at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon. The G Sports Concept is equipped with a turbo charged 2 liter boxer engine, a carbon GT wing on the rear, G'z body kit all around, G'z 19 inch rims with Potenza RE050, G'z Recaro bucket seats, and even a Roll cage." ENJOY

This must be the only new car for years, that I might consider buying. That's only if they keep it light weight though. I hope it doesn't look like the G sport one...ugly by comparison.

^source

Says the new design was picked in november which makes no sense since the FT86 GS whateverthename was just revealed a couple weeks ago. Very stupid to announce a whole new line of "toyota tuner models" when the car being introduced first, looks nothing like the model representing it.

The same article was posted yesterday by Digital Majik. The article you sourced is basically just a reworded version of what he posted.

Might help to browse the thread before posting next time...

I know that, that's why I said my LINK was the original source. Plus the fact that it is still technically a rumor and not set in stone like magic makes it out to be.

Thanks for...nothing really.

No, thank YOU for nothing.

Also, you never said your link was the ORIGINAL source in your prior post.

i had an arrow pointing to it saying SOURCE.
All I was really trying to point out is that when you post news like this, or anything really, is to post the source not some other site pointing you to a source, and that it was still a rumor.

And your source is not the original source (Publication Holiday Autos)...so what's your point in saying that?

Also your source stole the picture from 7 tunes page

My source was the FIRST to break the news, it seems. His was more than 24hrs later. Anything else?

Who gives a flying ****t. Why do you find the need to repost basically the same article because it was posted 24 hours before on some other site?

Edit: We should quit spamming this thread.

In response to the post below: Well you didn't mention that in your original post with the source, so you didn't "point" anything out as you claim, until I called you out on it and you started making laughable excuses.

Also, why is your source the one to go by when it's still not even the ORIGINAL source???

we should, but this is fun.
I was trying to point out his inaccuracy of summarizing the article he was "quoting" which was also miscommunicating a rumor as fact. I was trying to use my source, which was older, to back up my claims. At which point you decided to be a smarty and point out the post right above mine. I'm not blind.

A press release from Subaru has just plopped into my inbox confirming that their version of the Toyobaru will be at Geneva. So we should get a better idea of what sort of car it is pretty soon!

They're touting it as a concept but given that it's been in development for ages it probably won't be too far from a production model.

Especially since they've got specs for the size of the thing:

"Measuring 4,520mm in length, 1,820mm in width and standing 1,430mm tall, the concept model features a new generation 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine paired with a Lineartronic (CVT) transmission."

You wouldn't normally publish stuff like that for a concept. Not sure about the CVT box though...

On the plus side, it'll be RWD. I know there were rumours floating about it'd be AWD.

So size wise it's just about 5" shorter, 2" narrower, and 2" taller than a genesis coupe and about 2"-3" bigger all around than a civic coupe, for those curious.
Wonder what the pricing will be like?

I'm going to be at the show next week so I'll try and twist a few arms and see what price they're thinking of :)
