Bonus content remind me again how long did we all have to wait for the game in the first place, then they release the game many years later only for it to be half done an missing major components eg, leader boards. This bonus content as you put it isn't a bonus at all there just finishing the game while we all play so i believe people have the right to complain.

sure they have some right to complain.. what would be really nice is if someone took the initiative to actually see what it takes to develop a game like this.. after all even the first Gran Turismo on ps1 had 5 years of development time put into it. And that programing was child's play compared to the multi-threaded system that is the ps3 today.

You do realise that a lot of people couldn't care less about leaderboards, some people want it some don't, you can't expect the game to have every component that every player wants in it do you.

You say they are finishing the game but it was finished the day it got released, everything else is just a bonus. It is in my opinion the best racing game of all time on any playstation 1 2 or 3, sure it's not the biggest but bigger isn't always better, if it's not good enough for you then vote with your feet when GT6 comes out.

WRONG!!!

ever heard of B spec? guess not! i'm a lvl 33 A 39 B and quickest way to get money is A or B spec lvl 24 dream championship. 1 mil in under 50 mins.

see your even on the wrong track!

Yeah my bspec has done it plenty, gets rather stale after two months. people like you remind me why I hate the internet, noob.

I woke up about 30 mins ago, made a tea and had a my first intake of nicotine, i then sign in to GTP to see what the news is on the latest round of seasonals, imagine my elation (which i'm sure many of you shared prior to actually turning on your PS) to read we have 12 seasonals. I had a feeling PD would make up for the lack of seasonals last week so was extremely happy they not only doubled the usual round but added 2 extra events giving us a total 12 events for this round.

My grip (like so many others who have posted) is the fact we are no longer getting big payouts and EXP, why is this so important?! well ask yourselves this If GT5 did not have online play and there was no intention from PD to give GT5 an online feature...who here would grind GT 5 to level 40, or even try to get 100% of the game completed?

My Guess would be only the most dedicated gamer. In short, very few would try to complete the game.

There was nothing wrong with the way you progressed in GT4 so why Kaz and PD felt the need to completely change it to this "grind" system is beyond my understanding. Now they have done the same to the seasonals!
I know that the extra cash and XP wasn't going to last forever but i also wasn't expecting them to cut it back so much!

Some of the cars are SERIOUSLY expensive so the cash and XP boost from the seasonals was very welcome.
I don't have a problem buying an expensive car so long as i am able to earn the money without having to grind all day to go from the 3.5 mil i have-to the 20 mill needed for an F1 Ferrari.
I also don't mind buying these expensive cars and going to 0 credits if i know that i can get the credits and do it all again with the next seasonal event.

What makes this worse is that so few cars are sellable in my garage and those that are-are worth S***. To cap it off-i don't have any cars i want to trade, all the cars i have i want to keep...

At least in GT 4 iif i was cash-strapped i could sell a car and if i really wanted it i could go and grind the race again and win it back!

This sucks big time!

PS, before i get slated for this post please keep this in mind...Up to and including seasonal 6...EVERYBODY here had nothing but praise for the seasonal events...with the exception of a few gripes regarding what events or cars people wanted to race in the next seasonal update.

So they can win 30k? doubt it.

actually the F1 races in all pay out Cr. 368,300. but then again, what's the point of me even saying this, you lost your spoils of extremely easy xp and credits and feel the need to wine about it.

And to the defending fanboys who acted like the bush admistration this last week and remain defending this ****, it reminds me of xbox vs ps3 crap, but its not, you wont get it but people with a brain might, **** you idiots. Glad my wheelstand is still back ordered and eligible for a refund. The japanese are so ****ing lost. I really liked gtplanet as a mature site to discuss gt5 until the fubar PD had last week on updates and what I see here today after the weaksauce update. Post want you want in reply, ban this user name, wtf ever, Im done here.

I've read through most of this, and I'd like to offer generic answers to some specific points that have been raised:

1 - Yes, it's nice to have more events; it's not nice to have them pay out so little though, especially when there's little difference between the new races and those already available. Some kind of XP and/or bonus for golding a set of 3 would perhaps offset this for those of us with time restrictions, and wouldn't prevent continued replay for those who enjoy it.

2 - Once you've golded an event, any requirement to repeat it in order to advance turns the game into a chore, because you're no longer able to play how you want. I'm fed up with developers putting years of work into a game then locking away all the good stuff behind a pointless grind - I've already done the grind: I've been to work and earned the money to pay for the damn game! I'm after some fun, and I don't find this fun; more power to you if you do.

3 - There is no one right way to run the game, or these races. If you want to make it easier for yourself, or harder for yourself, and the game mechanics permit it, there should be nothing stopping you. Telling someone they're wrong because they don't want to play it the way you do is futile. Telling PD they're wrong for allowing multiple playstyles is ridiculous.

Now, my personal reaction:
In one fell swoop, this has ended my desire to do anything more in the game; I'm glad I hadn't gotten around to buying a wheel controller, which I was sorely tempted to do while running the Pro, Expert and Extreme races - they were fun, much more of a challenge than the first 2 ranks. I've unlocked Endurance (with help from Seasons 5 & 6) but I just don't have the time to grind the A-spec races so, even knowing it would take a couple of weeks per level, the Seasonal XP bonuses were my ticket to opening the last stages of the game.

I won't even be running my fleet of Bobs overnight anymore, as there's no point in unlocking anything he can offer now either and the paltry credits he earns aren't worth the strain on the hardware. I'll check back in a few weeks to see if they've changed the format again, or added something different alongside these revised events, but as it stands now I'm done with World of Carcraft and the dozens of nearly identical "gotta-buy-'em-all" Pokemazdas. (attn. PD: one car with ten regionalised names is still only one car.) Still, I'm not actually that upset; due to illness, I got a few solid weeks out of this game - for once a PS3 title has been worth what I paid!

Have fun everyone.

You can get 1170000 in 40 min in indy race, doing 0,45/46 sec. laps.

I'm happy with the new seasonals, at the end of the day any new content gets the thumbs up from me. Please remember people that this is a "driving simulator" so with well over 1000 cars to choose from, do these events in as many cars as you can for the joy of driving different cars and comparing them. This game isn't about getting your most powerful car out of the garage and blitzing the AI every race!

F1 2010 costs 10 million. F1 '07 costs 12,5 million.

This round of SE is 2 weeks valid. If you really want to drive Ferrari F1 (FF1) races, you can now - before this SE there was no real Ferrari F1 races around.

If you have no FF1 car and want one, this seasonals can be a push towards it. You have 2 weeks to earn the money.

If you have a FF1 car, finally you can actually race it for XP/Cr.

Since amount of XP/Cr is finally toned-down, if you don't have an FF1 car yet and have no option to get it in 2 weeks frame, not-driving these seasonals will not hurt you because the amount of XP/Cr gained from them is not high as before.

All of us who invested in the game and have FF1 cars will be able to finally get something out of it.

Only "problem" I see here is that you can't bring the "investment" if you decide to spend all your money on FF1 car and finish current SE. But, since finishing of SE have nothing to do with single-player structure (percentage of game, Gold trophies, PSN Trophies..) there is no "design given force" for you to participate in FF1 events.

These SE are the most logical and perfect solution and nobody actually gets hurt.

Or am I not seeing something here? ;)

i couldn't agree more 👍

Your prob right that you can get about 1.5 million per hour grinding indy or 1.2million on dream car championship for a hours play therfore making indy more productive..............Difference is that that hour on indy will be soul destroying whereas the dream car championship is a considerably more enjoyable for the mere fact your going round tracks. I know what id rather do but its each to there own.

Personally i let bob do the dream car championship in the X2010, takes about 1 hour 15 for 1.2 million credits and a refreshed UCD. Absolutely no babysitting required either, just check every 15 mins and start the next race!!!

How hard are theese one with restrictions.. do u have to be best of the best to even have chance in top3?

I stand corrected :)

I'm at the point in both A and B spec where i have to grind to get the XP needed to unlock the last remaining races(barring any race over 4 hours because i just don't have the time and don't want my PS3 running for days on end), the point is, the SE's were very welcomed for allowing me to buy the more expensive cars without having to grind and grind with so few races compared to GT4...i spose its not the grinding itself, it's the fact that with so few events to choose from compared to GT4, its gotten boring very quickly. SE spiced it up with enough reward, now that has been turned into a chore as well

I was only using leaderboards as an example and yes some people don't care about them but i would say the majority of the hardcore racers do. How about the fact that GT5 on release had a tiny life span an without PD updating an "finishing" the game most people would of stopped playing ages ago.

How hard are theese one with restrictions.. do u have to be best of the best to even have chance in top3?

They aren't restricted, its just giving you and idea of the base horse power that the AI is running so you can choose, or choose not to use a car that can run a fun race.

Thats it, i paid good money for a game with 1000ish cars and i'm fed up with not being able to drive the best ones so i'm turning to Duping/Copying/Trading/setting up multiple accounts. Is this what sony/PD want? It must be cos there is no way i'm grinding, grinding around indy is the most pathetic thing I've ever had to do on a PS game.

What a joke. I'm seriously going to think twice about buying another PD game in future.

yes, cause getting the best cars right out of the box is what is all about. enjoy your multi-accounts :) do you want to know the really sad part tho? If you would have thought of this a month or so ago, you could have multiple accounts with 10-15mil saved up easily lol.

I'm beginning to see a huge rift in the GT community where there wasn't one before.

I hope PD are following this thread!

not to be mean.. but have you been under a rock or something? there has been a huge rift here since the games release.. heh.

Loving the hate in this thread. Obviously lots of people cant be bothered to play the game properly, they want it handed to them on a plate.

Hopefully, we can get rid of all these people and have a much more pleasant online experience.

Most of Gt5 is stupidly easy, if it's too hard for people, maybe NFS:HP will be better for them. More reward for doing nowt.

No the sad part is, you missed the point. The man did not want to do that in the first place :sly:
