All I care about is that I can finally race my Ferrari F1 car! Don't care if you don't get loads of money, I just wanna race that car over and over again :)

They are no different from any events in the game, you race yourself against the AI, if you think they are pointless don't play them.


And LOL at everyone who was relying on the seasonals to reward them big payouts, like GT5 owes them something.

LOL, just saying that if i knew it was going to be a regular pay out structure i wouldve held of buying super expensive cars.
 
I have yet to complain about anything in GT5 though I have been/am still frustrated with certain aspects of the design, however, these new Seasonals are.... kind of pointless no? I mean they're just like A-Spec races only without the best part of A-Spec races... the gift car afterwards.

4wd at Laguna Seca? I can just re-enter any old A-Spec Laguna Seca race and achieve the same outcome.
FR at Deep Forest? Same thing, enter any old race in A-Spec.
My point is, they have added new events but at the same time have not really added anything "new" at all!!

I saw this post that said they were up and immediately flipped on the console all excited to play, I looked through the events, said "meh" (with exception of the Ferrari race of which I cannot enter due to lack of a car), and turned the console back off...
I just feel myself losing interest in this one a lot quicker than I have ever lost interest in a GT game before... and that goes back to the original!!
I'll wait for the update...
 
Not wishing to sound smug, but I traded to receive an f10 yesterday - the PD gods must have been watching 👍

I'm not complaining, I'm just saying they are pointless, save for the F1 event, which have some fun to it, apparently. The other are just things you already did when you were starting the game, no news there.
 
So to sum them up, they're the same boring time trials with traffic on the road as before, except now there's more of them and they give us crap money and exp.

And PD has the cheek to make them replayable for cash and exp like people actually like these **** 'races'! They were only good for cash and exp, now they're good for nothing.

Is there anything PD won't make an arse of?
 
So now we've got a compromise between the two factions for the Seasonal races: no payout AND no challenge. I also notice that PD now suggests a horsepower range for people who want to challenge themselves... but still don't give you any way to find out what the tire settings are. What are they thinking??? lol.
 
Not bad. Like big payouts though. They are thinking about things at PD. At least they give somewhat of a #%T$.

This. If they at least enforced some kind of power restriction there would be something new/challenging/fun.

Even sticking to the HP they "recommended" still makes them a joke. I used a 400hp rally car for the 4wd event.


Only to go up against a dodge ram.......... seriously?

Theres a very simple solution to that, just follow the recommended hp limit. 👍
 
i knew a day like this would come. ive bee saving my money trading cars here and there so i didnt have to buy them. ive got about 14,000,000 right now and since PD will take the 20% bonus off the a spec events im sure people wont have as much money anymore. im not worried i dont really need to buy cars anyway i have the ones i need. its the XP im a bit upset about i had hopes of getting lvl 40 but now at lvl 33 i dont see that happening anymore. oh well ill just have fun racing and playing online.

Have some willpower and enforce it yourself - no doubt Amar and the immacualte challenge crew will have something sorted on these in a couple of days as well.

Just because PD doesn't limit the restrictions doesn't mean you can't do it yourself.

I don't think they are. First, the news update said stay tuned for more announcements about GT Drivers Club and we have't received one since then. Second, it said exclusive rewards, and the rewards from these events definitely aren't exclusive. And why give it a name in the announcement but not use that name when updating? I think it will come with update 1.06

Still too easy if you pick the wrong tires. You have to start the race, play for a while, quit, view the replay, check opponent tires. THEN you'll know what the restrictions were.

But honestly what is the point? I could have done this in one of the amateur A-Spec races if I wanted to. PD didnt need to waste there time adding pointless events.


Also a slightly modded RX8 (295HP) destroys the competition in the FR races. They are even easier than they used to be.

Indeed, but the competition is still a joke... Might try racing with Sports: Hard to see if things become a bit more interesting.

Sure, but why do I need to do so in these 3 events when I have 5 difficulty levels to choose from offline to do so? These are still pointless.
 
I do miss the money. Was having a lot of fun buying all kinds of cars that I never had access to. Now money's gonna be scarce again and I'll only buy cars very occasionally.

I don't know why PD wants to make it sooo difficult just to access the content they put in there. I like checking out cars and trying out different mods and tunings... if it gets to be too much of a grind I'll just give up on it :(

Simple answer - don't do the races if they offend you that much.

The point, after all, is to enjoy yourself, and clearly neither of you are...
 
yea i like the old seasonal events better but i dont mind these races
its something new that i want to finish
andi get to drive my old cars i havent drove in a while
 
I'm just happy there are some new races to play through other than the Aspec endurances I'm working on.

Really though, is the harsh bashing of the game really needed? It's getting a little tiresome to read, not to mention unatractive to newcomers to the site.
