Sure, but why do I need to do so in these 3 events when I have 5 difficulty levels to choose from offline to do so? These are still pointless.

You don't ''need'' to. Doing the seasonals is optional.

The new seasonals suck you will get more money doing aspic.

Simple answer - don't do the races if they offend you that much.

The point, after all, is to enjoy yourself, and clearly neither of you are...

Oh, I'm not offended at all. But they really are not fun to me, so I won't be doing them any time soon. It's a valid complaint, is it not? When a game have online content, you at least expect it will be different from the offline content already there, and I simply don't see the difference, that is all.

Indeed, but the competition is still a joke... Might try racing with Sports: Hard to see if things become a bit more interesting.

Just race online if you want competition. Same payout and more fun.

For me this sounds very good! Haven't tested it. It still looks most here are when they say I don't want to grind Indy 100 times for the money to buy an Ferrari F1, then don't do so... because there will be other seasonals with other expensive cars and maybe PD changes the system again...

But it's like PD listens to the community as there were lots saying the seasonals are boring, not enough races, the payout is too high and they can only be done once. Now there are more races without restrictions but suggestions (there is a thread somewhere on GTP about this as a good way of giving us an idea what car you should use) and if the 30000 XP is true, I would say that's still far more than every other event, except the endurances.

Eh, it's better than it was. I'd like to see more creativity on these events in the future, rather than just plain old FF, FR, 4WD. We already have those (2 of 'em at least), to the point that even the HP of the opponents is the same as it was in the original A-Spec races. In fact, the list of opponents is even the same. Why not make the FF race use the higher HP FF cars, or the FF race cars that are in the game? Make it fun and original, like I'm assuming the Ferrari F1 races will be.

A car reward would be nice, but this'd be a good chance to give away something else too. Rare paints? Maybe a horn that pays "La Cucaracha" (I'd pay real money for that)? I don't know, but something would be better than nothing. A bonus for staying in HP range of the suggestion perhaps?

Or maybe they're just testing the waters this week, and the next ones will be more ambitious. Either way, they're giving us a decent evening's entertainment.

Also, should any jerk feel like telling me "there's a wishlist thread! post in there!", I will say no, this is totally on topic, and eat me.

Have some willpower and enforce it yourself - no doubt Amar and the immacualte challenge crew will have something sorted on these in a couple of days as well.
But honestly what is the point? I could have done this in one of the amateur A-Spec races if I wanted to. PD didnt need to waste there time adding pointless events.

Also a slightly modded RX8 (295HP) destroys the competition in the FR races. They are even easier than they used to be.

The point is to challenge yourself. Obviously if you're destroying the competition with 295hp, then you need less power.

Then use a slower car if you want to make it a challenge on yourself, it's not rocket science.

Right. Why not try a Cappucino or Elan next, and see what happens? :sly:

Wow. I guess it's never possible to please everyone. PD pretty much tailored this set of seasonal's to cater to all the major complaints, such as the "I like a challenge but can't be bothered with the challenge of figuring out the right car" crowd to the "More events" crowd to the "No restrictions" crowd and still nothing but complaining. Jesus, go to the Fallout New Vegas forums, you'll love it there.

True, that is something I wasn't giving much importance to. If you're simply grinding for XP, this is clearly a superior choice.

I'm not complaining, I'm just saying they are pointless, save for the F1 event, which have some fun to it, apparently. The other are just things you already did when you were starting the game, no news there.

So are you actually complaining or not? I'm confused.

What is the point of adding events worse than events we already have in amateur A-Spec (besides Ferrari F1 races)

I just think that the new seasonal events should have been all the existing events (FR, 4WD...etc) plus a bonus event like last time. That way everyone is happy. I was kinda surprised that they actually canceled the bonus races...

After protracted two-week wait, we finally get 9 A-spec Amateur events :D
Don't complain about my complaint as I'll complain about your complaint about my complaint and then you 'll complain my complaint about your complaint about my complaint.

This. If they at least enforced some kind of power restriction there would be something new/challenging/fun.

Make your own challenges.
For example:Take bone stock cars with 1/3 power.

I took a stock Honda S800 RSC Race Car ´68 with 97 bhp for the 1st Fr challlenge.

Does it really matter to the topic? But if you need to know, I was obviously complaining in the first post, but was trying to be polite :P

Don't complain about my complaint as I'll complain about your complaint about my complaint and then you 'll complain my complaint about your complaint about my complaint.

And this is gold XD

But let's try not to get offtopic, shall we? Like it was already said, these events are still a valid way to grind A-Spec points.

I think they had it right with the first (and second?) round of seasonals...

A hard weight, hp, and tire limit; yet open to a variety of cars - and REALLY hard to win.

The only change I would make is instead of only a big reward if you win 1st overall the first time you race; you get the big payout anytime (i.e. give you a chance to try different cars/setups). But keep that you can only win a reward once.

That would be epic.

Exactly.

My first race in the 4WD catergory I used a WRX with about 395hp and hosed them easily, so then I tried again with a 290ish hp GTR and took the lead on the last corner at Laguna Seca, that is my definition of a fun race.

It is irrelevant, but it shows you are completely full of ****.

I am fired up about these new events and the new online UCD. I was sitting on $12.7 million. I bought the F2007, in part based on Stormbringer's report which pegged it as easier to drive than the F2010, and I got the RUF Yellow Bird. Looking forward to a great weekend of GT5.

It gives as much money and xp as winning the Sunday Cup for a level 30 like me.

Ah, reminds me when I tackled Historic Racing with a Camaro Z28... Really close and fun races. Which reminds me, I still need a 2J for Bob, the moron won't race well even on a Mark IV or a 330 P4.

Chippy's immaculate challenge! Love it 👍

Raver has abnormal gifts at cajoling mediocre cars into race wins so I'll ignore his challenge for now!!

O.T. Easily did the 1st race in the historic series with the Z28; having a REALLY hard time in the 2nd race. Keep finishing 2nd with the 2J getting a pretty good lead......

I think if I could keep him behind me; but the 2J always seems to start out in front of me....

Are you really trying to bait me into insulting you? Seriously, if you can't have a civil conversation with someone, you might as well just stay quiet. Just don't try to bash someone because you don't agree to his point of view.

I think PD finally got something right here. Cutting down the Exp and the cash puts some form of legitimate-ness into ranks plus you can't rack up an extra 7M Cr by having multiple accounts.

Hopefully this will cut down on all the people complaining about how much Exp/Cash SE's are.

x2 tire and hp restrictions is all that is missing though

It's easy money and xp, especially for people who don't have much time to play or are new to the game. It also exposes people to cars that they may not have tried previously, and introduces new car comparisons not present in A-Spec or B-Spec events.
