SE8 should be released tomorrow morning 3am GMT, there's a Notice on GT website to this effect. Possibly a small 1.07 patch also to fix the replay issue that arose from the 1.06 update; But at very least we'll have the SE8 and a fresh OCD line-up.
While that point of view does technically make sense, the challenges were already incomprehensibly easy, as there were no restrictions beyond the make/model of car to be used.
My guess is that they're just randomly changing things for the sake of variety.

If this is true, it may also indicate that there will be new tracks included as well? I could be remembering this wrong, but weren't the new seasonals races last time bundled with 1.06? Here's hoping anyway!

That's because translating the update schedule notice from Japanese to English set them back by a day, and they haven't managed to catch up yet.

Why did they promise us weekly updates if they couldn't deliver on that? It would have been much easier to leave us partially in the dark than how we are expecting things right now.
I don't play Warcraft anymore but man, those people at Blizzard knew how to let their customer base know of every little thing being changed and exactly when. That's just good service that benefits everyone.
I still enjoy GT5 though, don't get me wrong, P D just has a few kinks to iron out.
