You're lucky he even came up with seasonal events. He coulda let the game be and said be happy with it! I'm happy he's even making these events to give us extra cash. On top of it all you get to do the bonus races over and over again. Maybe it's not much money but it's still experience.

Actually, if he wanted to maintain a good reputation, then he had no choice. GT5 is unfinished. Going along with my theme of reputation, Kaz was left no other choice, except to be a has-been, or to make things right.

That's not even slightly true. The 1.00 version on the disc is crippled. It has no online. Had they stopped at providing the disc, there would have been massive lawsuits for fraudulent advertising. Ditto providing the time trials online, they advertised leaderboards and so they HAD to provide leaderboards in some fashion.

There's any number of parts of the patches that they HAD to include because they were advertised parts of the game that weren't in the 1.00 release. I'd call that an obligation.

Whilst it is true that they had to fulfil some of their obligations online, the bulk of the seasonal events are still additional bonus content that they didn't have to include.

OK, granted that PD aren't exactly the best at providing up to date information before changing online content and updates,etc... I'll give you that.

But seriously, this concerns free online extra content (for those lucky enough to have decent internet connections) that they are under no obligation to provide (they could have just stopped at providing the disc), that we are under no obligation to use or participate in... oh the shame of it! They lied to us!! Maybe I should report these 'mavericks' to the trading standards office!

Not when talking about getting told one thing and then PD not going through with it. They said there would be seasonal races every week, that isn't NEARLY enough considering huge lack of content in GT5 (look at my sig) but it was something. Now they don't even do new seasonals every week and still no"drivers club" that they said was coming out in GT News.

I only play a few times a week (actual driving in my cockpit), not counting b-spec, and I'm almost done with everything. I've intentionaly left some special events and licence tests unfinished so I'll have something new to do when they stop updating. PD need to keep cranking out new content just because they failed to give us enough in the first place.

People seem to think it'll be kind of like seasonal events. Which is to say, more races to do. Possibly with actual prize cars or something to set it apart from seasonal events.

PD announced it in the same GT News article as when they said they would be updating Seasonals every week. The next week, no seasonals, the next update, no "drivers club".

Maybe I can snap a photo of that news story as some regions didn't get it apparently.

I heard they removed that story since then but if I see it in there, I'll make sure to post it here (unless someone else does first), I'm sure that must be on this forum somewhere.

Fair play some valid points there, I just felt that some people have overreacted because PD skipped a week (are they changing this? they expanded the amount of seasonals the previous week which may point to a change). I'm waiting to see what happens on March 3rd before making any further judgement on this.

I'm also wondering about the 'Drivers Club'... could it that they announced this before being ready to deliver? We've had 2 updates since and it makes me wonder if they simply switched their focus or announced something that was intended to be implemented later rather than sooner (but didn't make that clear in the announcement).

I genuinely feel that if PD were to improve their notifications of changes to come, that would probably solve half the problems, I thought the 1.07 update with the gifting restriction situation was a bit of a farce although gifting/trading itself is not something I participate in myself.

As for the relatively small number of races, compared to GT4 and considering the amount of cars in the game, yes I do agree it's lacking somewhat. I haven't quite got to the stage of having to grind endlessly (only just completed the professional level in A-Spec), but I would really love to see the manufacturers events returned to the main game.

For all we know it could be that seasonal events are gone for good... Or has it been said somewhere that we will actually get more? Not that saying anything matters at all really as pd already said that we get weekly seasonals but we didn't...

I remember all the same comments on the forums saying "get the game out, we don't care if it's not finished" now it comes out, people say "it's not finished" haha... hypocritical posts.

To be fair, I did see a lot of people saying, "get the game out even if it's not finished, and update it through patches." This is actually what the case is now. Personally, the game's core is pretty much done, but overall it does seem incomplete. A-spec events looks like an afterthought, and I can't believe mechanical damage is not implemented into it.

I'm really thankful though (as should most of you) that PD are continuing to support the game this much, after its release. Yes, A-spec events are few, but if we want it to have as many as GT4, the game would probably be delayed further. The game was really worked on till the end. I remember them being 3 days over their scheduled time to release the game as it was back in November. I imagine the game would be much more than 3 days over if they were to implement as many A-spec events (including rally, karts, nascar, etc.). Imagine the uproar if the game was to be delayed till this year. Lose-lose situation for PD. They probably thought seasonal events was a solution to the lack of A-spec events. Obviously with so many people still complaining, it isn't.

But... There was no room on the disc for any more A-spec races. They used up all the room making the ooh-ahh photo-mode locations.

I suspect that 1,000 A-spec races would have taken up only a couple of megs of data, so why PD, why...

They should do away with the whole B-spec mode, and keep it as an option for the Events.

GT4 was perfect in that aspect.

I thought that many of the GT4 A-spec races were quite similar, bit like many of the cars. However I really liked how the points system worked, would have liked something similiar added to GT5. If I remember correctly, you could overpower the competition - but you'd only get 1 point. More incentive to pick something closer to the other cars rewarded you with more points.

How many seasonal events have there been? 35+ [obviously I haven't counted ...], (plus drifting and time trials - another 20+)

However, I've thought it a bit of a shame that the seasonal events can't be downloaded onto the console, so that they can be repeated after the online timeframe expires, and so that 'A-spec' grows

I'm level 40 on both a Spec and B Spec, I love the franchise, and yes, it is unfinished to say the least. Don't be blind dude.

He clearly stated, the game is unfinished...But because he started the post with "Unfinished?" the automatic reply is that's all he said. He makes a very valid and very strong point.

I too, love the franchise. I also love all the people that contribute on the threads, I wish people would read whole heartedly and then post a response. Game is unfinished, still has more/better content than any other racing title on any console. Unfinished to say the least???

Also, I generally disagree with Diesel Pump and don't event partake in his conversations, but had to dis-agree with his half though out response.

Haters don't read the whole post, they just see me 'defending' GT and start blabbing.

It's funny because what I said was pretty much the same thing all the haters were saying. They want the game out, who cares if it's unfinished. Just release patches and add on races. And that's exactly what we got. I don't care if there isn't 500 different races, or one make races in the dealerships. While those were fun, we got a better online system, PP made a return, we get seasonal events, time trials, GT Academy (even if it is full of computer racers) etc.

Complain all you want. It's a waste of time. The time spent complaining you could be using towards getting your times better or playing online. Why come on a thread to whine when half the people whining are the same one's that wanted a 'rushed game'?
