Brilliant?
Takes the fun and skill needed out of it.
Now it's like the other events, overpowered car gets you the win.

Its a good concept, don't over power them and try to win, at least with this option if you can't win after countless retries you can add little by little until its still a challenge but able to obtain the gold. Not everybody is a pro at this game, it's good for those who first started with GT5 it also give people the option not to spend so much time on one event; which takes the fun out of the game

No restrictions for #4. Must have listened to everyone. Cool!

@Gobrigavitch

I completely agree with you. I know some games have sliders to adjust difficulty settings, maybe it's possible to do that with Gran Turismo. The more difficulty the higher the exp. Even if they leave the credits where they are at now for the seasonal events at the easiest level, at least reward the guys who want to be challenged.

Loving the no restriction races. Saving me Cr.

My sentiments exactly. 👍
There have to be races you cannot enter until you've passed the required License Test or reached the necessary level. Otherwise what's the point of the licenses/levels ??? :dunce:

The Seasonal Events should add more challenge/enjoyment to the game.
Default should have "tough" Restrictions & huge rewards. Every mod you make to your vehicle should carry a penalty in credits & xp. That way everybody is happy. :)

some people love it some people hate it. there are enough difficulty in special events and licenses for gold imo, this should be just a bonus event for people to get easy gold.

whatever pd does some people won't be happy, but at least now we have the best of both world. you can make it as difficult or as easy as you want

My first approach to seasonal events was sparkling, easy money easy xp (otherwise with my poor cars I can't level up so fast)... but very soon I was a little bit disapointed because my first instinct was over tune my cars for the s.e. and finally runs alone to a secured 1st. But some knowledge was there...
The second round of events I use a different approach, trying to win "wasting" the less money I can do (not for the challenge, but for the cash saving).
Yes, the s.e. can be better and more challenging (like the IA-10 test, i.e.) but aren't bad at all... and you still are improving your skills... a little :D

I think PD addressed a common complaint about the game - namely the frustration with having to incessantly repeat races in order to gain XP and Cr - very well. By removing the restrictions, it really works out for everyone. Casual/impatient players can mod out their car, and make their way out of Level Limbo. Advanced players can simply choose not to mod their cars to make the events more challenging. No harm, no foul as far as I'm concerned. C'mon, no one can realistically expect a video game (even a "real driving simulator") to be a level playing field in terms of difficulty; PD's prerogative is to move units, thus they have to make the game appealing to hardcore and casual gamers.

I guess I fall somewhere in the middle. I have a lot of respect for hardcore gamers that can devote the amount of time necessary to master this game, but totally understand those that wish to enjoy the game as an arcade racer rather than a lifestyle commitment. Not that I consider this a cheat by any means, but cheats have been around as long as consoles.

Don't you just hate it when somebody comes on here, gives a viewpoint completely different from your own, that makes sense. Damn !!! :grumpy:

I cannot claim to be one of those hardcore experts at GT5, but I really do want the game to be a challenge. That way it'll last longer. :)

IMHO if people want a quick buzz or racing "fix", try Dirt 2 or Race Driver, Burnout, Need for Speed etc etc. 💡

I liked the need to pass your License Tests to qualify for a Race in the original GT.

But then, as you mention, PD need to make this game appeal to the widest possible audience.

Doh. :dunce: LOL
Basher "D"

this happened too late for me, I bought a nascar, did the oil change and it was over the HP requirement, frustrated I bought a 2nd Nascar, did the race. Then it changed FML lol

Far be it from PD actually giving the players options.

Why do people need their hand held for events like this?

If you're dead serious about keeping it competitive, just don't over power it and don't slap on racing softs. Simple as that. I won the Mustang race with Sport Softs, Titanium Exhaust, Racing Fiter, and ECU. BTW 4th gear in the Mustang is loooooong.

Indeed.

It's great for everyone now. Can make it as hard or as easy as you want. Enjoy!

Obvious solution is to try the race in the stock automobile and take it from there.:)

I think PD pretty cool guy, eh? Makes Seasonals and doesn't afraid of anything.
