Seasonal Time Trial events - what a joke

Why cant Kaz just sort out leaderboards for all tracks all cars with different tyres, then we dont need to bother with all the seasonal rubbish.

Just let me compete against over people from around the world in a car, track and tyre of my choice, cant be that hard to sort out even GTP had better leaderboards and that was suppose to be a demo.

:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Why cant they just go back to the way they had it in prologue?
Every car has a leaderboard and everyone is on the same playing field.

Have to say im now finding the time trials frustrating and very time consuming. I agree with others lets have leaderboards like GT5P.

My main gripe is how long it can take to find the car you want in the USD. For instance I need another Peugeot Rally Car 99 and i've spent nearly 2 days trying to find one. If this isn't bad enough we then have the dirty oil trick. Basically what this means is its quicker to have dirty oil allowing extra parts than using clean oil with fewer parts. So this means after eventually finding your car you may have to spend a lenghty session getting your B Spec driver to use your car.

This game is becoming one big chore. The A/B spec is a chore and now are the time trials.

I really enjoy the time trial events as a challenge to tuning skills if nothing else rather than worrying about setting the best time, I know my driving is not the best, but if I can get in top 500 results I'm feeling pretty good about it.

One thing I would like to see is some fine weight tuning options, like with the Corvette Convertible (C3) '69 if you perform weight reduction 1, the car comes in at 1396KG (4KG below limit), if there were some body weight kits within reasonable limit, perhaps restricted within adding up to 5% of the cars weight, then it would make these events more accessible to more cars.

I think these would have been better if they did what they did with the Licence tests. Have it so you load up the event and the game gives you a preset car, whether you own it or not, and that is the car you time trial in. That way, everyone can compete if they have the car or not.

I also don't think upgrading should be allowed in this mode, it should be about pure driver skill with everyone in the same car.

100% agree 👍 also a time limit to achieve a fast lap would be good instead of being able to do unlimited laps.

I got a question according to those time trials. Any clue hows with rewards after its finished? U can check ladder only for 260 peepz if those are the only ones getting anything from it well..then its kinda gay cos considering % or peeps having gt its ouch,.... way to small.
Dont understand me wrong. They deserved to get probably more than lets say me, with 1380th time. But still 1380 is pretty good imo yet again considering amount of peeps out there

I don’t know about the top ten, but I’ve finished within the top 60/70 more than once, yet haven’t received anything for it. I’m assuming no-one gets anything for it.

I think you should read the time trial requirements before you make stupid posts like this. You can't just drop money to make more HP and drop the weight due to the power/weight requirements. The "tuning" aspect of it involves setting up the car suspension wise which, believe it or not, is a huge part of motorsport and any enthusiast. Just because you have no idea about tuning and have no inclination or desire to learn, there's no need to trivialize it for everybody else who consider tuning very important. And I repeat, this is not talking about spending hundreds of thousands "making my leet galardoz 100000HP man".

I’m not too sure how realistic tuning is for this game is.

On the trial mountain TT(4wd 394bhp), after watching his replay I noticed he top guy was regularly over loading the outside front tyre, e.g. it was glowing red.

I messed about with set ups to try and replicate this and the only way I found it to be possible was to have the front set at max everything, including ride height and the rear set a minimum everything including ride height.

Not a standard set up for a real car by any means.

With this set up I went from 6-7 seconds off to 2-3 so it worked really well.

Ive found a 206 rally car for the Rome TT but its showing 300bhp when it needs to be 295bhp. Any ideas how to detune it?

I think the idea of adding up to 50-100 kg ballast is good. A simple sliding scale, enabling you to handicap a car that would otherwise be under the limit, or would be too quick for the event.

Have you tried entering it as it is?

I’ve got a new one that I got from the gift card that I won from the intermediate rally challenge and it lets me use it.

BTW, the same guy who topped the Trail Mountain TT at the top of the board at the moment and he’s still using the nose up, arse down setup with high gearing and changing up at just over 5k revs, if it helps.

Yeah, i have - it wont let me :(

Im on a controller and i can only get a very high 1:16. Just dont know how he's getting a 1:13! Even a good setup wouldnt take 3 seconds off it!

Thanks anyway

I feel ya. Most are finding ways to cheat I think. There's no way I'm that bad. For instance, on the Rome challenge I'm ranked in the 100's and 2700th in the Laguna Seca one....why? Because Rome is fenced off and there's nowhere to cheat.

i think its good the way it is, seeing as in real life time attacks everyone isnt driving the same car. Think it mixes some tuning in so its not all about being the best driver, but setting your car up too

This! exactly this! Surely it would be a bit boring if everyone used the same car in time trials in real life? so why do it in game?

Lol, so because you cant get into the top leaderboards everyone else cheats? Get a grip dude, you suck. So many damn whiners on this board it makes me go crazy.

If you'd ever taken the time to watch the leaderboard replays, a lot of people are cutting corners.

The latest GT Academy scandal makes that pretty clear.

Yeah, your argument makes sense, except for the fact that people are cheating...and look at you, whining about whiners lol. Funny bloke you are.

no more meta-meta-whining, please.

Why doing it the clean way if it is easier to mow gras and cut the track
