Second Anniversery of 9/11

Prayers once again go out for the 2,800 people who died that day. Anything you want to say about 9/11 please post it here. I do know many of you people think 9/11 was severly over-rated, if so don't say anything, please.

Yeah and the sad thing is is that our school isn't doing anything except to wear red, white, and blue for celebration. That makes me mad.

I remember last year at my middle school we wrote a note and tied it to red, white, and blue baloons, then we all let them go at the same time, it was really spectacular and we all got to send our prayers out to the people in a unique way.

At our school we are going to get red white and blue ballons. Have the students hold them im the correct order, then have the local police come over and take a pic, pretty cool, then we let them go.

Our school is near the flightpath of burbank airport.

Why the hell would the schools make you release balloons into the air?! I couldn't think of a worse thing to do. Balloons + jet turbines = bad. I wonder how the schools would feel if they caused a plane to crash while remembering 9/11?

Should be interesting to see how our [Aviation Mechanics Technology] class at school celebrates(is that the appropriate word?) the anniversery of 9/11.

They design Turbines to be able to survive the worst hail storm + rain storm earth can produce. Ballons won't do anything. Trust me. I'v watch the design test videos and they test every part of a plane to destruction. The only thing that will damage an engine is a MAYBE 7 pound duck. Not a balloon.

Well in Saskatchewan, Canada my school just had a few minutes of silence last year which was pretty much the bare minimum that someone could do but anyway, i'll be remebering......

Last year, I remember the principal of my school coming over the intercom and having a moment of silence to remember the victims of that terrible day. I hope nothing like this ever ever occurs again.

I'm sure we'll do something totally inadequate and worthless. Maybe just sit quietly for thirty seconds. But then there's probably not a whole lot that can be done.

No, that was only at sports games, but I don't really see the difference, anyway I think that all got worked out.

Medias. Everywhere, it's the only thing they're talking about. I can understand why, but at the same time i don't. Why would you want to go minute by minute through the events, year after year, showing the pain, the emotion, etc? To a point, i'd say the medias are over-hyping it. It's okay to remember (heck, i'm probably the only one here addicted to motorsports that still bothers to change his avatar on May 1st) but you have to draw a line somewhere, imo.

I don't see it that much "cramming" as mayorbill so eloquently put it, and I watch the news constantly.


Do you think that people were feeling that December 7th 1941 got crammed down there throat? I mean we still observe that day and it was 62 years ago.


Where should that line be drawn in your opinion?


How does it get "crammed" down the worlds throat? I mean does it get "crammed" down the throats of Slovakians? Austrailians? Just wondering, I don't get the news from over there.
