Has anyone notice the billboards from Brands hatch have been removed? Not a big deal but why would they do this? (Update) just realized the signs are only present during online matches!

Might be as simple as practice vs. race conditions. In time trials the grandstands are usually empty and the circuits generally look like one would expect from a testing session, in races everything is dressed up.

I know. Still I don't think it's a downgrade at all. If anything it's more of PD art decision.

Perhaps they’re taking the boards down and packing the track up.

It's the same for most/all tracks.

Crowds & billboards etc in races but not in timetrial.
Nurburgring 24hr layout is a good one to see a big difference.

The Michelin timing tower at Circuit de la Sarthe is only there during races too. That always struck me as an odd decision.

i don't remember if it's in barcelona or autopolis, but there's a cabin wich is designed as an apex landmark in experience circuit, and misses while in race mode. It disturbed me a bit when the race started !

The tracks also get dressed up for fia season races. So different features appear on the sides of the track. Its like this for all circuits and has been there since the beginning.

Gran Turismo 5/6 also does changing the crowd intensity and some billboard texture depending whenever you do time trial or a race.

Gran Turismo Sport expands this by placing / removing full billboards model and changing sponsorship based on what event (normal race or FIA race)

I noticed this at Willow Springs during an FIA race. I was using a shadow of one of the hot air balloons as a braking point during the event free practice, then when I opened an online lobby to practice with tire wear all the hot air balloon was gone and with it my braking point Also there was a bridge on the straight that was removed as well.
