Semi automatic gears

I always drive with auto gears, but a lot of times I would like to override the gear I am in so having control of this would be great.

On demand auto or manual.... Could be interesting.... I don't see how we could switch it on track, but, anything is possible!

He means it's automatic but if he presses a gear change button it changes gear, it would be a good way for people to transition between using an automatic to a manual.

in GTs 1-4 you could maintain a gear by holding R2. No idea why they dropped that feature.

At least one of the Forzas did just this. It was possible to force a downshift.

It would be nice also for example if the Auto worked like a real one & when you where only 10% to 40% on the accelerator the gears would change low revs like a real car. Then 50% throttle the gears would change halfway through the rev range. Then when 100% throttle the Auto would do what it currently does now when changing at the redline.
