Senna content coming soon?

Oh, well in that case, you still can't. Unless you have proof, you can't say the tracks are definitely modeled.

Wow, I thought I was the pessimistic one around here. Obviously those two tracks are going to be pretty much ready to go, it's not like it would have been that much work over the current versions. Just a few adjustments to the loft, changes to some buildings and signs/hoardings and that's it.

Whether they release it when they say they will is another question but I'm not sure why it's being questioned if they're even done yet.

Just remember that they (PD) own official rights until 1986. So we will probably not see cars that Senna raced after that year. I'm not sure if this rule apply to the tracks as well.

No, they have the rights to his image up to that point. They have the right to use the Senna name and likeness up to that date. The cars and tracks are unrelated, they still have to be licensed from whoever owns the rights. For the Kart it probably was the Senna foundation but for the Lotus they would have done a deal with Classic Team Lotus.

I have all the faith in PD. I'm very confident that they'll get the content out.

But knowing what has happened in the past with claims, you can't ever be 100% sure they've modeled the tracks at this point.

I don't know why, PD would not be stupid enough to officially mention content if it's not ready. If it wasn't ready as you're suggesting they would just not mention it at all, nobody would be any the wiser it was meant to be part of this content.

They missed Zahara and have teased tracks in trailers but if they write it on the official site in the form of a press release, you can be pretty sure it's ready to go.

It's PD, and they've made some claims in the past that they haven't followed through on. All logical arguments say of course it'll be ready, but everyone just needs to have that little bit inside them that is prepared for it not happening - no matter how unlikely it seems.

I almost know it'll be ready. But with PD, you can't rest until they've followed through on it.

I'm galaxy hyped up, can't go beyond that. :sly:

Just did :P

It might not happen, it may be delayed, I just find it odd to suggest the tracks aren't modeled. That makes no sense to me.

FOM own the rights to the likeliness of all F1 cars, so the deal for the car would've been done with FOM and the deal for the livery (or just the logo really) with Classic Team Lotus

No matter how unlikely the situation is, you have to be prepared for such an eventuality. If it turns out so, i'd be furious, but not as much as if i'd told myself it was so preposterous it's impossible.

Ok.

So according to your query we should have(roughly):
Jacarepaguá Circuit
Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit
Imola(kinda sad in a way)
Paul Ricard
Detroit Street Circuit
Adelaide
Fair Park(Dallas GP)
Old Silverstone
Old Hockenheim
Zandvoort
Old Nurburgring GP
Old Estoril
Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez
Phoenix
Okayama International Circuit

Bit of a big list for PD to include isn't it.

That Detroit street course would be absolutely epic in combination with vintage F1 cars...

So we have to be prepared for the fact they just wrote about those two tracks without even modelling them? No, I don't follow. All we have to be prepared for is missing the release date for whatever reason, but that reason is unlikely to be because someone realised they hadn't modeled the tracks yet.

Nope, FOM only own the rights to 'Formula 1 Racing', you can license any individual car from a manufacturer and as long as it doesn't race any other, different manufacturer cars FOM don't need to be involved. Just look at all the PC sims with F1 cars, none of whom dealt with FOM.

There is no reason to think they won't release it on time. When they spoke of dlc and that track that hasn't been released yet, they were never given dates, on fact the track was a leaked video IIRC. This has a definite dateline, pd wouldn't go this far and back out.

I didn't say not modeled at all, just not completely modeled.

I understand it's very unlikely, but the only way of telling with 100% certainty they're done is pictures and receiving it. Not having pictures currently hints at it still being finished off now, which i'd say isn't too preposterous.

The tracks are already modeled though. All they had/have to change is the loft in two/three corners and a few buildings/trees etc, then some different textures. They knew they were releasing this in May, it's highly likely those tracks took priority over anything else the track artists were doing, for example Zahara......

Well they still could be modelling those few corners. I'm not saying there's no chance of them being finished, just we need to wait until we get the DLC on our PS3's to know everything's sorted.

And i'm super confident that PD will do so.

I'm excited to see how this kart feels. I want it to have a loose feel. By that, I mean absolutely no stability whatsoever

Did you take a pessimism pill overnight or something? This discussion is very confusing, it's like roles have been reversed.

I remember reading about how various corners couldn't be modeled because of broadcasting possibilities.

For example, the tunnel at Monaco or Moss Corner (T5 at Mosport). The radio signal was unavailable at those points of those circuits.

Mosport, especially, where the literally impassable forest at T5 meant that the only way to get to T5 was on the track itself. There are no access roads, so a radio tower can't be constructed. Only via satellite, was it possible to broadcast anything from T5, until like 2000. to this day, it is impossible to walk from T5 to T8 without walking on the track... Not during racing, of course.

In the case of corners like those, there are very few records of what the corner is like exist from those days. Research is important.
