I looked at forza 4's carlist and i immediately got pissed off. They get the Honda civic Em1 and other coupes and the hatchbacks. We just get hatchbacks, what's up with that?

Because GT5 is a Japanese game and the civic coupe's weren't even sold in Japan. I think the last year was 1995 because nobody bought them!

Do you think it's Forza's fault there not in GT or something?

I don't think so.

Ill agree forza has some great cars but the quality isnt up to what gt5 is I play forza from time to time but always end up returning to gt5

The Civic and Accord coupes you see are sold only in North America. GT5 is heavily based in Japan, so most of the cars you see in GT5 is Japan only.

EDIT: Sorry for the mistake. I looked at the online car list and NOT at the full car list.

no GT-R ? Dont comment if you dont play forza. Those kind of stuff piss me off.
It has R35,R34, R33 and R32 I dont remember like that without looking but I think they even get some older skyline as well. They dont have 200 versions of the gtr tho.
I'm not defending Forza really because I dont really like how the car respond on the pad, doesnt feel right. Either you have too much aids, or if you turn them off, it's quite impossible to drive with the pad.

However Forza4 got full interior on ALL cars, some nice track selection (<3 Road America) and a lot of cool goodies, specialy online.

I end up liking GT5 more and I cant really get why. But both game are valid racing game with pro and cons.

Simple answer to the OP, because those cars are North American release only, they are probably very hard for a company in Japan to get a hold on them. Forza has them because they placed themselves in the U.S., equaling easy access.

To be honest Forza may have that car and some nice exotics, but they have no Subarus, no GT-R's among other cars.

Not true at all.

But it shouldnt be hard to get those cars into GT5. Other car games have Japan only cars. I believe it comes down to PD just putting what they feel are important into the game.

Yeah I'm sorry I realized that when I typed, but I couldnt let it pass. Believe it or not but this is my short version of the message I intend to post at first XD

You never know. Some games may put in more money just to get a car to them. We don't know so speculation continues. What's wrong with putting in cars they feel are important in the game? It's their game after all, not ours.

I don't understand the whole "Civic is a performance car" thing. It's a shopping trolley with a motorbike engine! And it's wrong wheel drive! I blame The Fast and the Furious.

/rant.

I loved civics way before FF was out. VTEC is an awesome things if used properly. Civics and CRX form the early 90's are just awesome car. Super light with quite powerfull motors. One of my best friends actually owns a EK8 (well he's selling it because he got a baby) and it's awesome. I love to drive it.

Thx i thought it was liscensing rights, but if they could give the standard cars a little bit more effort on the graphics of them i'd be happy.

If I order food at a diner...is it my food or thiers? Did PD make a game to make money and market to end users or just for their personal use? See what I am getting at?

You're making a terrible comparison. It's yours because you paid for it, but they decide what the contents are. Sure they produce it to make money and such, but it's really up to them what goes in.

I believe thats what I said here...

It would be more benifical to cater to a broader audience, not just mainly Japanese cars. Just because it is a JP company, I doubt they cant get a wider spectrum of cars is all I am saying.

I too never understood the point behind a Civic. Most of the ones I see have A) a fart can for an exhaust, B) a stupid body kit/spoiler, C) rims larger than a house, or D) all the above.

But I've seen a few that look/sound ok.

But- My view has sort of changed after playing around with them in Forza/GT. Fun little car? Yes. Funner with a fart can? Nope. I'm fine with them now, as long as they don't sound/look like a POS.

As for the OP: Most likely license issues/import issues. Not a Civic guy, but Japanese and American markets are different (same for Europe too), thus making some models harder to obtain to model.

If you go to a Chinese restaurant and demand spaghetti and bratwurst with french fries on the side should they have to buy the ingredients and look up how to make it for you?

That's so wrong, your comparaison doesnt work.

In GT5 there is clearly some european and US market cars, so it's not like there is noon. If I go to a restaurant serving every type of food, I expect them to have french fries, pizza and spaghetti because it's comon food. Same goes for GT5. It's not a JP only game anymore. In Shutoku battle for example I dont expect to have any european/us car at all because it's a japanese game, aimed to be release on japanese consumer. Same goes for Initial D but on GT5 it's not the case obviously. It's an international game made by japanese.

Now dont get me wrong, I have more than enough car in GT5 but your argument is just wrong in my eyes. I bet most people didnt even drive half the car (not counting the same model but us/eu/jp version).

A few years ago Honda USA came to the conclusion that hatchbacks do not sell well in the USA, although they sell very well in Japan and Europe. That is why Honda does no longer sells Civic hatchbacks in the USA.

I have owned Honda Civics in both Japan and USA. You should be aware of the following; the Honda Civic offerings in the USA have always paled in comparison performance-wise with what the Japanese and European markets get.

Any hardcore Honda enthusiast will tell you the same, in fact it is very frustrating, and that is why JDM parts for Civics are so popular in the USA.

So although GT5 does not have the USDM version of the late-model Civic Si, a lot of the GT5 JDM, and EDM Civic hatchbacks probably blow it away performance wise.

Case in point, the 1990 Crx Si hatch in GT5 was never sold in the USA, all we got at the time was stripped down econo-box Honda had the audacity to badge as an Si here. Even the 90-91 Civic SiR sold in Japan was available in Europe as the 1.6 VTi.

Does Forza 4 have any Mugen or Spoon Civics? I don't know that's why I am asking.

Look, you talk about not commenting about Forza unless you've played it(well not you exactly, but you agreed with the user who did) and to be honest you're being hypocritical, looking at your posts, it looks like all your posts within the Forza section are positive, but once you come over to the GT5 section, you nit pick the living hell out of it, and it looks like you either no longer play GT5 or you've never played it at all, and that's great, but how come you can comment on something you no longer play or never have, but when someone does the same in regards to Forza, they get called out? Pot. Kettle. Black as the saying goes. Nothing personal its just an observation.. Oh and please don't feed me the "complaint about complaining" speech please:p

To answer your question I nit pick GT5 more because IMO there is more problems with it. There is not much to complain about in FM4, and I am happy with the game. Is it perfection? Nope. Want to see me critizing it...then go to Forzaplanet.net and read my posts. Want to see if I play GT5? My PSN id in right there, toss my a friend request. So I can rightly voice my opnion as long as I follow the AUP, right?

This has nothing to do with why some NA Hondas are not in the game though. So...why are you trying to go off on something that has not even been discussed (FM) in the past 10+ posts on this thread?

And I do stick with my comment that you shouldnt state facts about a game you have not played.

Fair enough, and yes that had nothing to do with Hondas, but I wasn't looking to start an argument, like I said, I was just making an observation.
