As a runner, I guess it would be sooner or later before I get shin splints, and now is my time (first, I suppose it will be...)

Anyway, any remedies from the runners, doctors, and/or talkers of GTPlanet? :)

Don't run for a week or two - ride your bike or find some other form of low impact exercise that is high-output (my favourite is the cross-trainer at the gym, the one that simulates cross-country skiing.

Also, a nice long hot bath will help. Another good thing is walking in the pool - you get some benefit to your legs because of the resistance of the water, and your lower legs benefit as they don't have to carry your weight.

For me, I actually need to work my running around my lower leg soreness, so I won't run two days in a row, and only run three times a week.

yeah ive had em before but they go away after a while if you strech out right

I tend to run longer distances - my two morning runs during the week are around 6-7km (around 4 miles or so) and my long Sunday run can be around 10-20km depending on how I'm feeling or if I have an event coming up.

I train at around 12-13kmh - which would translate to a mile of around 8 minutes or so.
