I'd like examples of this. Right now.

Put up or shut up.

Once again, personal opinions about that specific point are irrelevant.

Is this your forum?

Do they contain all of the features listed on the back of the box? You seem to think that this is a subjective viewpoint that I'm arguing because "GT5 is so horrible compared to NFS" or whatever. Its not. Complete/Incomplete is an objective standard, and several people in this thread have been acting as if it wasn't so they can further their arguments.

You are using that word incorrectly if you think Authentic was calling for constructive criticism.

lol dude I'm not going to hunt down evidence that you show hatred towards this game I've seen it multiple times on multiple threads, that's good enough for me I saw it with my own eyes. No it is not my forum, is it yours? Another person in this thread even notices it (not going to show his name) that you do nothing but complain, nitpick and find every flaw in this game. If I had a nickel for every time you said this game is incomplete I Would make bill gates look poor. As I stated earlier, if you don't like the game and feel it's incomplete for whatever reason then MOVE ON! And what about leaderboards you say it was promised? How do you know it won't come in a patch? Does it say on the back of the box that every feature will be in the game at launch? Even so, they're are leaderboards in the seasonal events. Dont be such a downer and nitpick every little thing because that's what you do all the time.

This has been pondering my brain for a while now. Do to the fact that we spent money on an incomplete game which was extremely away from kaz's principles do to him wanting gt5 to be perfect but was forced to release it no where near his expectations. The people who have bought gt5 should atleast get gt6 for free or at some kind of discount. Its hard to see it be free I know but a discount seems more reasonable dont any of u think?

Tell you what, how about if you go to work everyday for five years and not see one red cent for your efforts. Then come back here and tell us how you like it.

What is it with some gamers that they're convinced the industry exists in some alternate reality, where the normal rules of business don't apply?

tribolik
Oh yes there is... go play Dirt 3... Offline mode was flawless on release... and the damage physics kick GT5 damage model in the nuts so hard...

Lol dude EVERY single game ever made has some kind of bug.

Don't be so cheap, $60 is not much money when you average how much playtime you get out of a game like this. Discount? No how about a free DLC or something for the loyal fans. 👍

This thread is funny.

PD spent a lot of time and effort into redoing the GT engine. It's not perfect but GT5 is essentially GT: mkII. GT 1 - 4 can be attributed to the same foundation, for GT5 they started again.

GT6 is a long way off, I believe there will be a 'GT5.5' with new content and features sometime down the line of the PS3 lifespan, before GT6 is out on PS4.

Matchmaking means the game supports specific functionality related to multiplayer, and the My Lounge feature does not emulate that functionality.

Never seemed to be any confusion over the matter when GT5:P had proper leaderboards.

No. Its incomplete because the game's packaging says it should be in the game and it still isn't. And, ironically, it is also incomplete (albeit using a slightly different definition) because the game (according to Kaz, apparently) was built with certain functionality in mind that the game hasn't had patched in yet.

Here's a suggestion: You want people to understand where you are coming from? Make it explicit what you want people to take from your post.

Lobbies/Matchmaking dont = normal Matchmaking
Thus the reason Kaz said Matchmaking will be implemented later on.

If your wondering .. no Lobbies/Matchmaking arent 2 separate things. If they were they wouldve put a Bullet Point instead of a Slash
So technically Matchmaking was never promised to be in game day 1

"Never seemed to be any confusion over the matter when GT5:P had proper leaderboards."

LeaderBoards weren't advertised on GT5:P .. So ..

Once again just because you feel it shouldve been in the game dont mean it was suppose to be.

I was going to do up a huge response (mostly talking about how ridiculous it is that you've stooped towards things that aren't even actual arguments so much as "nuh uh"), but I noticed something:

The only way you would think holds any water is if you haven't been paying any attention whatsoever to what I've been saying. So it honestly isn't even worth my time.

Good day.

This thread is funny.

I used to figure it by 1986 video game rates. Every time I die/lose costs a quarter. If I die/lose 240 times without getting bored, the games paid for. :D

It's the assumption that everyone who says negative things must hate the game that furthers the propaganda.

It's the way that they go about saying or complaining about the negative things about the game is what gets me and make me assume that the really hate the game. This is my view on it.

Good day.

Lmao what?
Ive been paying nothing but attention to what you've been saying. Like I said basic Matchmaking isnt Lobbies/Matchmaking which is ADVERTISED on the box and it is in the game. Leaderboards are in the game. Since YOUR versions of these features arent the same as the ACTUAL features in the game DONT mean the game is incomplete ... BOTTOM LINE

I'm looking at my GT5 manual right now, and it has Open Lobby and Matchmaking in two different categories. It also says Matchmaking is online race events that match you up with other players. Sounds like the online we had in GT5:P. Do we have that in game? No.

That's an awesome way to think of it. In this day and age, if you use GT5 or any other game for 100 hours, and paid 100 dollars (say for the Collector's Edition), you've played a game for $1/hour. If you get to the ultra-enthusiast level (Guilty!) and get closer to 1000 hours, it's about $.1/hour.

Out of all of the copies of all of the GT games I've purchased, I've spent about $325. I know I've played for hundreds and hundreds of hours, so a conservative 1500 hours would lead me to have spent less than $.25/hour. What can you do that costs money these days for under $1 per hour?

I cannot think of another game series I've played that comes close. I'd probably pay a couple hundred for GT6 if it kept in the spirit of the GT series.

Yea your right In the manual it does say that
But if you go on to read its not that type of matchmaking
"Matchmaking featured a variety of race events and pits player together randomly for heated races
You can even create or join Custom Lounges ,public rooms where racers can congregate and set up their own custom races"
Thats Lobbies/Matchmaking
Thats in the game

Basic matchmaking is everyone in your room will follow you to a random or specific room

Thats what he plans on adding

Post 500 ! yay :)

Yep, pretty much. Games used to be cheaper, with platform type levels, and or a "number of lives" system when I started with home systems (pong anyone?). The quarter a play method made more sense 25 years ago. I've since updated my system to be based off of total time, like you say, has games have evolved into big openworld/sandbox productions and such. I go by $1.50 an hour currently, based off of what I averaged in the mall video arcades in the early 1990's.
And yes, I remember when pinball machines outnumbered videogames.:nervous:

The best counterattack would be to say that a game company should make as complete of a game as possible rather than a half-hearted game. Not only is my answer no, but HELL NO would I want GT6 to be free. By saying that GT6 should be free would be like saying PD has given up on making GT the finest racing game franchise of the modern era, so here's a free, half-assed game from a storied franchise. I'm sorry- that's absolute crap. How can a major company profit from making a free game? Considering what all PD had been through lately, this will only compound PD and the GT franchise.

If a game is so incomplete, then it should still at least be fun. But to say that the next GT should be free judging on a previous GT is just bogus. I think some people talk about certain games and franchises like they WANT these games to fail and be obscure memories. It's this sort of "no hope in sight" mentality that ends up making things feel unwanted or disappointed. Games can be patched to be made better or enhanced. Do you REALLY want that if you're a fan of a certain game or game series? I'd rather play an incomplete (or mostly incomplete) game than have a free sequel. And even games that are "complete" still have plenty of imperfections that really take them away from being great. Saying GT6 should be free judging on GT5's overall appeal is absolutely pathetic. I love GT5 despite its imperfections. I do get the feeling it could be much more to really be the finest GT ever made, but I am not giving up on the GT franchise. In fact, I still consider GT2 to be my personal least favorite GT because of the hits and misses that game had.

So I would NOT want GT6 to be free. Some people just really talk about things like they are God awful. I complain about my 2011 Houston Astros having one of their crappiest seasons in existence, but you don't see me siding with the Texas Rangers or New York Yankees or anybody. If you love something, stick with it and show your support. Don't belittle something as if the heavens made a mistake introducing it into the universe. The Gran Turismo series just a video game series. Bad games can be made better. Stuff like what's being suggested here isn't going to make the GT series any better if you so think the GT series is heading down the tubes. I guess support and devotion are dying concepts in this day and age...

Wow! this thread got 6 pages:crazy:

To be fair, two of those pages are "you're kidding right?", and three others are "is gt complete?" arguments, but not really about "should it be free?". So the actual OP discussion only lasted two or three posts I think.

I'm having trouble taking your ridiculous pontifications seriously, but lo and behold I'm making the attempt anyways.

WELL you see, I'm looking all over the game box and manual at this very moment, and I just don't see the words "Matchmaking and Leaderboards to come Eventually" anywhere on it.

And the funny thing is, even if they were on there and even if Kaz did say that, all that would mean is that the game... er... was released in an incomplete state. Which it is still in. Which is what I said.

So... way to waste everyone's time?

Care to retort on my most recent post? I didn't think so. :)

Why does this thread have 6 pages?!?

Mods please close this pointless thread...

Oh boy. Someone wants to make this personal.
Or they just think they are oh so clever to try to get the last word in nearly three hours after the other person stopped entering the thread.

Either way:

lol dude I'm not going to hunt down evidence that you show hatred towards this game I've seen it multiple times on multiple threads, that's good enough for me I saw it with my own eyes.
Would have saved everyone some time if you had simply said "I got nothing."

Here's a little hint to prevent future embarrassment: Disagreeing with someone because you think they are wrong about something does not, even remotely, mean "the thing you like is bad and you should feel bad."

No it is not my forum, is it yours?
If you were in Seattle, the Point would be at Cape Canaveral, you missed it by so much.

Another person in this thread even notices it (not going to show his name) that you do nothing but complain, nitpick and find every flaw in this game.
Good for them.

The truly ironic part is that you've gone on this ridiculous tirade in a topic where I pointed out (repeatedly) how absurd the OP was for expecting GT6 to be free because of problems with GT5. Really, this is more fun than being called a fanboy for a game series that I've only played for probably two hours combined.

If I had a nickel for every time you said this game is incomplete I Would make bill gates look poor.
Oh boy, my sides are splitting.

If I had a nickel for every time someone said the sky is blue, I'd be able to get rid of the national debt. And yet, the sky is still blue. So, you know, as clever as your little ditty was, what exactly does it prove?

As I stated earlier, if you don't like the game and feel it's incomplete for whatever reason then MOVE ON!
Yep. Obviously, I loathe GT5 so much that I got in a time machine and joined this forum 5 years before the game came out just so I can rub it in everyone's noses how awful and terrible the game is.

And what about leaderboards you say it was promised? How do you know it won't come in a patch?
Way, to, you know, not read any of my posts in this thread.

Does it say on the back of the box that every feature will be in the game at launch?
Really? Really? That's your argument?

"The feature list on the back of the box doesn't say they won't be there at some point in the future"?

"No officer. I didn't kill him. I just pulled the trigger and the bullet came out. It was that damn bullet that did the deed!"

Even so, they're are leaderboards in the seasonal events.
Yes. There are technically leaderboards in the game now, just like being shot in the chest by the above hypothetical man is technically better than being shot in the face. Nevermind that is the most narrow definition of leaderboards imaginable, worse than probably every competing game on the market (including its predecessor). Congratulations. You are right. GT5 is now a flawless piece of software, fully living up to its promises.

That must make the people who vocally pleaded with PD to keep GT5:P servers from going offline, almost entirely because of the leaderboards that game holds over GT5 final, pants-on-head retarded.

Dont be such a downer and nitpick every little thing because that's what you do all the time.
Don't be so far up your own backside that you assume that the only reason I enter these threads is to express how terrible the game is. It only makes you look like a fool. My PS3 has been on for probably 2 months straight now, and it never hasn't been doing something GT5-related in that period of time.

You pay £40 ($60) for Call of Duty every year, and look at how 🤬 they all turned out to be ;)

I don't think it should be free as a lot of time and effort goes into making games.

They update this game monthly too. So slowly, slowly it is getting completed. And I do think I got my money's worth from GT5 and still do enjoy playing it, so actually it's the most played game I've owned on PS3.

There could be maybe offers on at gaming stores like - get half price off GT6 when you trade in GT5.

But from PD and Sony's point of view, no I don't think it will be free or should.

I think that Hopefully GT6 will be worth the money of GT5 and GT6 but that's just a dream, but hey, maybe they could fulfil it. You never know, always stay positive! :D 👍

To be honest I don't know why I even replied because it really is a no brainer. :P

If you want GT6 to be free then you can wave goodbye to PD after its release. How would they fund GT7 if GT6 was free?

Are you guys for real, seriously?

I don't think that this deserves exposition or even argument, but is getting interesting, logical flaws everywhere.

Lmao so then why is it every time I see you post something its either a complaint or why GT5 should be like other games? For someone that plays a game so much and yet decides to complain about it left and right, that seems odd. You don't have to get mad just stop your damn complaining and appreciate what GT5 is about, which is the enjoyment of taking your car out on the track.
