Should I upgrade my wheel?

I'm thinking about getting the t500rs. i currently have a g25 but the h-gate shifter will only register 3rd and 4th gear. should i get the t500rs or go for a fanatec wheel

Logitech shifter doesn't work on T500RS so you'll have to buy TH8 shifter (when it finally gets available).

As for the question...
G25 is an old wheel, you should deffo look at something new.
T500RS or a Fanatec wheel? Depends on what you need from the wheel and how big is your budget.
What you play? PS3 only? PC & PS3? PC, PS3, 360?
If you're playing PS3/GT5 only - Fanatec is the wheel to go for.
GT3 RS ClubSport Edition, you can't go wrong.
If you're playing PC sims - get T500RS with CSP (or wait for Fanatec's CSW).

If you have a big budget I'd advise you to wait a bit more for Fanatec's ClubSport Wheel to come out, if not just get either GT3 RS or T500RS, depends on what you want.

- No shifter (yet)

GT3 RS CSE
+ Amazing tuneability
+ ClubSport Pedals
+ H shifter
+ Less expensive than T500RS


T500RS is a better wheel, GT3 RS CSE is a much better all-round package (again, if you only use it on PS3).
The point I'm making is that T500RS is an amazing piece of kit but it just can't be used to it's full potential on PS3 because it lacks some vital tuning fuctions which are available on the PC, also, on the PS3 it can't be combined with 3rd party hardware (such as CSP), that's why I wouldn't recommend buying T500RS just for PS3.

Anyhow, after reading the posts I just have to agree with what Energizerrr says. Except you missed a point of advice I think.

If he wants to have xbox support as well (which I doubt since he's looking at a T500 RS) then he might want to go for a GT2 or a CSR.
If he is patient and money doesn't play any roll he might want to wait a couple of months until the CSR Elite and CSW are out. I have a feeling they will make a huge impact once released.

@Energizerrr i will use it for ps3 and pc and i dont mind paying extra for the shifter. because my birthday is coming im hoping for a lot of amazon gift cards to lighten the cost of the t500rs

If you want to wait, you could consider the CSW+CSP. It will cost more, but it won't be out there tomorrow either. Thomas said something about December in his BMW video, but if it's going to make it... dunno.

If you can't wait then definitely get the T500 RS. I haven't played with the new Fanatec CSR wheel, so can't tell you how it compares to the T500 RS that I am using currently. I can say that the pedals of the T500 RS are less accurate then the CSP's though, but the CSP's aren't made to be inverted (although can be via mods that are available, or to just find a way to bold it to your rig that way).

The TH8 RS shifter will still take a while. Newest release date according to webshops is 15th of November (at least mine). :S
