Hello
Hig-GT, I would like to answer some of your remarks :
I thought the UCD was random ... So if it is fixed then I'll admit I'm wrong but I would like some proof before I do. However, the point still stands that maybe person A starts after the C5R would have appeared twice where-as person B starts before the C5R would appear twice. Therefore B see's the C5R twice where-as A doesn't see it. Makes sense.
I think it's fixed as I noticed the following : play the game, save it at one time and back up. Then play a bit in order to refresh the ucd. Then charge the previous saved datas, play again, and the same cars will appear.
I personally think it should be removed ... I do use the function because I may aswell, but I think everyone should complete their own game and achieve their own cars by achievements in their own game, not others.
This is the way you see the game. I see it from another perspective (well, obviously from my side

). From the time I was a kid, I grew with the passion of motorpsorts, especially theses old Times of racing legends, like the 1967 edition of Le Mans.
When I played GT4, the best time I had was when I played some local sessions with my dad (2 Ps2, 2 tv's, 2 wheels, one ethernet cable).
So when gt5 was announced, with its online features and the famous 1967 race cars, I set my goal : create a 3 players lounge with my dad, my Bro, and me, driving the P4 against the Mark IV in Le Mans.
The problem is, with the way the credits system is implemented, theses cars are just untouchable for a casual player with a (very) limited time.
My dad won't take that time. My bro won't be able to, being busy with his young baby (my kids are a bit older now).
So basically, using the gift system (I worked my way through A-spec 32 and B spec 31 as I speak) is the only way for me to attain the goal I set.....which by definition is simply to have fun with people that count for me, and that I can't see as often as I would like, due to the distance.
My purpose is not to say you're wrong and I'm right. It's just to show you that every potential player has it's own goals and ways to play the game. So the more freedom you have, the best it is. It's useless to complain about this or that, it's just better to adapt and play with what PD gives us (obviously this is not intended to you).
If you care to see the bigger picture, you'll admit that, as big and great GTPlanet is, it's only a small fraction of the amount of players around the world. I guess GT5 has been released to satisfy a great variety of players, not only a fraction of hardcore gamers who have the luxury (or sadness, but this is another story) to play 6h per day and still find 2h to discuss every possible problem or bug on the net, or complaining about people playing in a different way.
That is why PD implemented those seasonal events : to allow the casual player to access a significant part of the garage.
Because, as challenging and dense the game has to be, it's still supposed to provide some fun in the first place.
Can I state again I only wanted a discussion. I don't want people taking this thread over serious and going OTT with it as some have above. Light hearted friendly discussion is all that is on the menu
I agree with you on that. It's possible to debate without beeing aggressive. Well I tried to
Best regards,
Snypa
