THese threads have got to stop, I am really getting pissed when I log on and see five new threads about GT 4 and it should have this and that, and what do think about this with poll a option a yes and option b no. Keep posting these threads and people are just going to start flaming you.

I'd like to congratulate everyone on this poll
Obviously were all one the same sensible level...NOS=NO NO NO

If anyone did want NOS they're hardly gonna say that they would after what everyelse has said  They'd get slated

NOx - whilst not very popular apparently - actually has a real-life circuit racing use.

Formula Palmer Audi cars - single seater racers, very much like the old Formula Fords - have 3 NOx shots which they can use at any point during the race. This adds an extra tactical dimension. Do you blast to the front at the start and use it all early? Do you save them all for the last lap and blow across the line - or may you have crashed by then, or be out of the running because you didn't use one earlier?

Seems to me people should be less blinkered to the possibilities - I have absolutely no opinion either way, but can see the possible benefits of having an extra tuning dimension ("Real Driving Simulator" surely simulates everything "real" driving offers?), and the possible flaws (like the F&F fanboys - but we get enough of those already - who think life is a 440yd straight line).

Pity there's only 2 options on the poll though.

famine i want to thank u for my new little bit off knowledge....

i've actually have argued against nitrous oxide, aka "nawwwwzzz", being in gt4 on the grounds that it had never, in my knowledge, been used in automotive sports; save drag racing. any more info on the formula palmer audi cars would b greatly appreciated, although i might beat u too it if i have time :D!!

well even though, to me, it would feel like eating bad mexican fo0d if gt4 did incorporate NOx, after seeing more than two sides to the arguement (the extra dimesnion of tuning; "real" driving experiance) i have to say im neutraly biased :D (hope they don't, make the best of it if they do).

the only way i would "appreciate" nawwwwz in gt4, or any racing game, is if the player had to tune their car for the air/fuel/NOx mixture and if they're calculations ARENT correct............KABOOOOMMM!!!!   ....time to pay for a COMPLETE rebuild because someone shot 3 rods through their ho0d and a piston through their block!!!!!...and maybe they should pay a fast and furious tax too!!!  :D

Well you got a few details wrong, after looking at the palmer sport page for 5 seconds i found this,

'Overboost is an exciting feature unique to FPA to make your racing more enjoyable for you - and the fans! When the steering wheel mounted button is pushed you get a six second boost of power to 325bhp, which can be used eight times in each race.'

Also this
' Test Drive an FPA Car
Seat fit plus 2 hours of circuit time with full engineer and data support is £750 plus VAT, places are limited with a maximum of 5 cars on circuit at any time. Please complete the form below and we will advise you of current availability by return.'

Damn where is my credit card :)

edit: forgot the url here

Apologies... :D I went to see a British GT Championship race at Snetterton in 1998 which had Formula Palmer Audi cars as a support race. I was basing my "knowledge" off that - clearly they've changed the rules a little in the last 5 years. In fact, I wasn't totally sure they still existed... :D

Cheers for the update though.

hell effing no...i'd leave gran turismo scene if they add it...

if they relly want to, they best have engine damage cos that's what that **** causes. if u use it too much, buh bye engine/car...it best not b avail online either...very few games handle nos well...midnight club is the best of them :D

They should add it only in the drag racing mode like sega GT 2002 did. That way everyone is happy. I know someone is gunna say drag racing takes no skill blah blah blah but they must not have done it. Drag racing is a test not so much of skill behind the wheel but skill under the hood. If it requires skill in regards to cars it should be in the game. I liked sega GT because it was gran turismo with drag racing essentially.

In the article from GI, posted by ruf_rgt on the forum, Yamauchi says they want to include more stuff from streetracing "as it is so popular in the states".

So I fear we could end up with NOS after all. Don't know what else is so typical from that type of racing.
Or it should be drag racing.

Yeah when I read that article I was going "Noooooo please no streetracing in GT4!!!!"

I love GT games the way they are, I don't mind streetracing games, I enjoy most of them. (well NFS series anyway) But I don't think it should have a place in GT.

God forbid they'd put Neon in aswell
My mate with whom I play the game from time to time would be barmy enough to install them....

Again, NOx actually has an application in real-life racing series (around corners and everything) - see my post on the previous page.

And NOS is a company.

Nitrous Oxide is pathetic unless used in drag racing....and if ya want NO2 (the chemical formulae) go buy the crappy Fast & Furious game coming out around Christmas

And once more I point out that Formula Palmer Audi is a fully accredited FIA race series - single seater Formula Ford style cars and full circuit racing at Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Snetterton, Mallory Park (etc. etc. etc.).

And I thought the singular of formulae is formula :D

The commonest abbreviation is "NOx" - as used by dentists everywhere.

Nitrogen oxide - NO
Nitrogen dioxide - NO2
Dinitrogen oxide (nitrous oxide) - N2O

no no no no no no no! no nitrous its just nothing but a cheating tool id might buy it if it were an option like only a 25% chance but anyway no nos systems whatsoever there just like f1 cars but worse not that im dissin f1s but you know what i mean

Again Nitrous oxide is used in a real-life single-seater circuit series approved by the FIA - not just by kids in Vauxhall Novas...

BTW all these people who'd "leave the Gran Turismo scene" if they added NOx? How shallow are you?

sure what the hell add it

if you don't like it don't use it

you can use it when you're losing on the last lap down the straightway:odd:

 NO, it will completelly destroy the game, and it will not become challenging, coz u can just WIN the race with EXTRA money, not EXTRA skill ( extra money = NOS = ) GT want those guys out there play from ZERO, and play with skill, not like just pressing a button and just win like that. and i like what is on GT now and hope they will continue this good work on making the most real simulation game ever

theres a HUGE difference from playing Midnight Club and Gran Turismo. GT4 is going to be bought no matter what by me. but still i'd be seriously dissapointed if they add in N2O. plus, i seriously can't stand the movie fast and the furious. ever since then racing games have been terrible and so unrealistic. i just think that movie did an awesome job at dystroying true car work. my reaction to GT4 with N20 is definetly::banghead:
