This is going to sound very weird. Since I was a child I was always fascinated with interstate signs. I just loved the look, the shape, the colors, etc. When we would go on a trip I passed the time by looking at the Rand McNally road atlas. This was the 60's and 70's before GPS and satellite nagivation, we had Rand McNally. But I was always looking at the routes of interstates, the individual cities maps to see what new loops or spurs were being built. I remember when we would come over to Huntsville to see my mom's family we would cross I-65 and I liked seeing those signs. I always wanted one on my wall. Now I've got one on my refrigerator.

Several years ago I googled "interstate sign refrigerator magnets" and nothing came up. A few weeks ago I got the idea again, this time something came up. A company called carstickers.com makes interstate sign refrigerator magnets. You can pick the size you want and they will make it. I went with our local interstate that's a couple of miles away from me. I thought about getting several smaller ones of interstates that I like and might do that later.

There's even a YouTube channel devoted to idiots like me that covers interstate highways and other road designs.

Not weird. Many years ago when I was cycling around my region a lot, I was photographing road signs, specifically pictographs. I planned to make them into a book but never got around to it.

My router is out of support and is starting to show its age so it was time for an upgrade. Grabbed this one "used, like new" for $73.47 less than new.
We use an X73-DSL with and X60 mesh in the bedroom. I do have an another X60 which was supposed to go into front bedroom but our house being as tiny as it is we’re covered.

I think if / when we come to rewire I’ll have CAT cables run to each room too and just run a switch of some sort. I was looking into a Unifi set up at one point but the cost vs the wife was a battle I’d never win.

My house is about 60'x50', one story with a basement and more if you want to cover the garage and, ideally, the patio. My current router barely reaches the furthest points in the garage and, I assume because of the steel siding, it's horrible on the patio. I'm hoping the mesh system takes care of a lot of that.

My plan was to do something along these lines as that's where I have hard wired network instead of relying on the mesh backhaul.

The two X's will be in the basement (top one is where the network gear is anyway) and the O will be in my living room and hopefully cover the patio.

I will have to re-terminate a phone jack to a data jack but thankfully they used network cable and only punched down half the wires.

No, it's not a 1990s portable TV showing Hitchcocks "The Plates"...

It's a tabletop dishwasher. Haven't unboxed it yet.

I also got a new deal from Virgin. I've bumped up my broadband from 350Mb to 1Gb, got an unlimited O2 SIM for my phone and added Netflix to my already full TV package so I've been busy setting those up today. All for £20 less per month than I was already paying. I'll be screwed in 2 years when the contract ends but I'll worry about that nearer the time.

Glad to finally get a copy for a decent price, now all that's left is to get Underground 2.
Well, I said this earlier, and as of today, I've finally made that happen:

Finding an NTSC copy of this game for a reasonable price that wasn't being sold outside of the US proved to be a bit of a challenge for me, but I eventually found one. Won't lie, it still cost me a pretty penny compared to the other NFS games I got recently, twice as much as its predecessor, actually, but it's worth it since I have all my favorite NFS games on PC now! :)

Getting this game on PC is a pretty big deal for me because this game was my introduction to Need for Speed as a whole and although I haven't spent any quality time with it in many years now, it's always been my favorite NFS. Truth be told, I intend to replay it and the other NFS games I like on console first, so it'll be a while before I do anything with them on PC, but I do look forward to seeing how much better it is in comparison. Really glad to have the last NFS game I was after on hand now, especially since it's my favorite in the series, which I still hold in high regard to this day. Should be exciting! 😎

Same, this was my favorite game on the PS2 besides Gran Turismo 4. I still remember getting the game for christmas as a kid and spending pretty much the entire holidays playing it. Back when NFS was at its peak, good times!

Funny story, I got this game and GT4 on PS2 for Christmas of 2005, and although GT4 appealed to me more, UG2 was still a game I very much enjoyed whenever I played it. Been many years since I spent any quality time with it, but I hope to change that before the year is over. This game totally deserves a revisit.

Tombow Permanent Ballpoint Pen Monograph Light 0.38mm Black Ink MONO - I bought a few packs of these - I LOVE the way that they write, thin stroke, just perfect for precise writing. Though, these are thinner than what I intended to buy, as I frequently use the 0.50mm version more often, but these are fantastic.

Does anyone else use stuff from Tombow?

100%! It had such a cool vibe, i.e. the open world, the customization, the soundtrack etc.

#BEAUTIFUL THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES
Yep, I bought something... well, not just something, it's THE ultimate collector's item for every self-respecting GTA fan.
Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this sitting on a shelf, what a feeling...

The price, you may ask? Well it's certainly bigger than this tiny Playstation 1 game box... 150 euros!
This one actually holds the record of my most expensive video game purchase to date, the previous one was the physical Red Dead Redemption II Ultimate Edition for 120 euros, I guess.
But you know what? I'd buy it again in a heart beat.

Of course, I probably could've bought the same thing online for less than that, but not all of them are as complete and well preserved as this one, most of them are missing the manuals or the maps... but not this one!

It's amazing the amount of things you can find inside this small box, there's 3 games in there: the original Grand Theft Auto, GTA London 1969 and GTA 2, and each one has its own manual and poster/map, all in a remarkable state of conservation!
There's even a slightly moldy smell to it, all free of charge lol

One thing I've learned when looking at the OG GTA map poster, and this came as a shock to me as I'm a long-time GTA fan, is that the original Grand Theft Auto was actually the first GTA where Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas appeared in the series.
I honestly though these cities were originally created and designed for their respective PS2 games (III, VC and SA) but apparently I've been wrong all of these years... amazingly you get to play on all three cities on the same game, imagine doing that today with the current level of detail that Rockstar is using! Of course, these PS1 renditions of these 3 cities are nothing like the ones we've seen on PS2 but still as a GTA fan this was 1) a major shock and 2) a very interesting discovery!

I'm very happy to have this thing in my hand, but still, there's a rather "strange" feeling about it: believe it or not, this Collector's Edition of mine was released as late as 2003 (!!!), a time when both GTA III and Vice City were already out for PS2.
Why Rockstar Games would want to release this PS1 pack at such a late time? By then the PS2 was already gathering a lot of attention and a lot of players around the world... maybe they just wanted to give the players one last chance to buy and play the classics if they haven't done so yet, I don't know, doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

This reminds me of something: my GTA collection is looking pretty strong by now, here's what I've been buying/collecting throughout the years (since 2005 really):

I had to cancel my order for the Pusher Trilogy as the place I put my order had over sold their allotment of copies. I may pick up a copy later if I see it cheaper.

However I did pick up these two from my local HMV at the weekend just gone.

Been forgetting to reply to this, but yes, I agree. The whole vibe of the game felt amazing, and I haven't played a new NFS since the 2015 game, but I think it has the most customization options of any NFS out there and has yet to be topped.
