What about releasing some templates now?
One of the biggest selling point in rFactor is the total freedom on car painting.

SMS with pCars seems to be well aware about that.

It has been suggested a lot on the forums, so It is likely to come in the future. I think that only now the game is starting to really mould into something really solid, but there is a fair way to go before it is a complete package.

Honestly I don't get it.
pCars is an alpha product and yet they released templates for their cars.
With Simraceway I sniff another nerdy "PD-mentality" developer.
If I have to pay 7.85 bucks for a GTOne I wonna be able to paint even the brakes and rims.

I think I remember reading on the SRW forum that some of the licencing terms have prevented this from happening - an example of this being that McLaren wouldn't want to have their F1 cars with rival team's liveries - and that it could be difficult to prevent inappropriate content from being displayed on cars.

That said, there does seem to be plans for an in-game livery editor.

New car released, this one got me excited!

1995 Mclaren F1 LM

Cost is $12.50 or 12500 Credits.

To drive it is a dream, a rocket ship of a road car. The car sounds great but I was left feeling a little "hmmmmm" compared to the real thing, probably because their Mclaren M6GT sounded incredible. From the outside view the car sounds great on the exhaust note but is very toned down and less organic sounding in the cockpit view.

Ultimately i'm very happy with paying the money for it because SRW provide an exceptional driving experience that is great out of the box but can still be tweaked to your liking in the same way Rfactor could. Graphically the game is far ahead of what Rfactor was and this car is beautifully modelled with a high detail cockpit.

I've only had the game for a few weeks and sometimes I find it a bit slow due to my Laptop bit I've haven't downloaded all the tracks yet and I can wait a bit longer but besides that I love it because I get to buy and drive Indycars and old Formula 1 cars and I cannot wait for all the official Indycar teams and I would love to see touring cars from all over the world and that includes The German DTM's.

I just downloaded this to see what is was like, but i have some very odd ffb on t500rs. Instead of resistance it will turn the steering wheel to full lock in the direction that I turn and stay there with the ffb keeping it there. Anyone have suggestions?

I think you need to invert the FFB. A lot of rFactor mods require you to switch from normal to inverted and back to get the right feedback, but I haven't had to for SRW yet so hopefully once it's set correctly you won't have to keep changing it.

I didn't have to do that for SRW like I did for Rfactor, but chances are you will do it once and it will be a long fix (no switching back and forth like Rfactor). If you're having FPS issues you can try turning off replays, the game records replays for use in the money prize events (you can't win them without having replays on because they check every replay for cheating/cutting etc), turning off the replay recordings should improve your FPS.

Hello,

My Simraceway team has recently reviewed the results for the Beg Healey 100/6 at Troyton (Event 1870) which took place 10/14/2012 - 10/28/2012 I’m writing with news that you have taken one of these prizes:

1st
GTAce $3

2nd
Typhon42 $2

Congratulations. Just now this money was placed in your account and should now be available for you to use.

And It's possible that I won even more in other difficulty levels. :D

EDIT: Any car recommendations? Thinking about getting the Formula Renault.
Maybe I'll wait for discounts on Tuesdays though.

EDIT²: 5$ overall now, yeehaw! :D

It's hard to say, really, it's generally a good idea to get a car which you can use to grind for more credits, and always a good idea to buy the most expensive cars because the cheaper ones are easy to buy with credits. Also the M3 GT2 is the TDT car this week, might be a good call? $1.25 today.

Yeah, just got the BMW. Might just wait for Tuesday after Tuesday. If I'm lucky, a car I really want is TDT car next week.

Which cars are you after?

I just tried out some actual races for the first time in pretty much ever, I think I've only done maybe two races before. I went for the M3 GT2 on the Oval circuit, my first race went well, I only dropped one place and finished fourth. Second race was great, led the race for 10 laps then had a slight lapse in concentration, got overtaken and ended up second but with my nose pretty much on the other guy's bumper.

Third and final race, decent start, in fourth place for most of it. Managed to pass one guy who screwed up slightly... Then someone typed 'be careful on the first corner' so I figured it was some guy having a laugh on the track. As I went past the pits I saw someone sitting there and I figured it must've been him so he reset to the pit (I don't even know if you can do that). The lap after next, that same guy left the pit in the middle of a load of traffic, naturally it would be when I was passing him that he moved quickly to the outside... But then stopped making a move for it. I had assumed he was going to try and cut me up so I moved to pass him on the left, and then he just stopped his car. On the track. He got a 150mph shunt for his troubles and the resulting crash was hilarious to watch but took out half the field. He blamed me for it but plenty of people saw what he did. No idea what he was thinking, he could have stayed on the inside until everyone had gone past him.

Still, I got what I came for; a few credits to buy the Eclipse.

Which cars are you after?
The Formula Renault and maybe the Megane Trophy. Some of the McLarens are also interesting. I won't spend the cash on the cheap machines, I can use credits for that.

On the affordable price range, I can never get passed how awesome the Mclaren M6GT is, the Formula Renault is great too, very easy to push the car hard and its a rocket ship. I bought the BMW too with some spare money from the last car I bought, I didnt even drive it before I bought it but at 80% reduced I couldnt resist.

Quite crazy but my once tiny list of cars has grown to 27, including a few more expensive ones like the MP4-27 F1 car (test drive tuesday reductions!) and Mclaren F1.

So, last night I decided to give Simraceway another go. So I hit the track again, but immediately my new version of the game had problems, where the updating service failed to work, so after some tinkering and failing to get it working, I called help from the site's positive staff members, and got it working. After a further 6 hours of updating (20 update), I was ready to go. Though it was 2:45 AM and I wanted to sleep.

Today, I got to test the new updated version of the game, so firstly I took my BMW 1M that I had purchased previously out for a run... After failing to drive it and then giving up, I took to the events in the Evo at Sonoma (also known as Infineon but with a different name), and claimed up 42nd with a time of 1:54:177, I'm rather proud of that. But this time, I decided to test the online functions, on the track with others. I came across some horrible drivers, and ended up having to avoid them at all costs (one particular example, igonzalez or whatever his name was, managed to literally take me out in three races, and I mean right out, the engine would no longer run. In one of the races he took me out within 10-20 meters... Avoid him, everyone hated him). However once I had worked that out, I enjoyed many fun races at Watkins Glen (a track I am not familiar with) and enjoyed many top 3 finishes and a win. The game is way better before, and today alone I earned over 300 credits. And I've only been playing for about 4 hours! Back in February/March I earned 490 credits over 10 days!

There are now enough other users for it to be enjoyable, some races having up to 12 drivers, and the content is more than satisfactory. The guys have done a good job at creating a cheap and amazing game. 👍 Now I'm saving up for something... Don't know what, just something that will be fun, but not too pricey.

Edit: And some more racing later, and I've had some really enjoyable races with some good drivers, won some, lost some, did some commentating to others possible amusement and definite distraction. :P Sad that it's 2 AM and that I have to stop.

I also had some issues with yesterdays update, couldnt install one of the cars I bought (BMW M3 GT2, it would install but then wouldnt be available to use and then would just reinstall itself over and over), but they helped me sort it quickly. It is a beta and at times there are some issues but for the most part I've had a problem free experience with SRW, and its a far better service now than it was a few months ago.

As for the online racing, aye you got a few idiots, SRW just started an early stages protest system via the forums, if you get into these situations with idiot drivers intentionally causing trouble then you should report them on the forums, it's likely a replay file will be requested from you. Otherwise I've had a great experience too, a lot more people starting to sign up now. Though I spend most of my time doing the hotlap events because I generally just enjoy driving around, so you might not see me much in the races.

Fair enough about the enjoying just driving around. For me I'm sort of looking for something that is more fun than anything. I've done a lot of driving around after getting sick of every game's AI, so I've needed something else. And this gave me that.

Beforehand I've never really done any online racing, I have done a little on GT5 but the problem is that entry requirements are always so open that people just get something as fast as they can find so that they win. And with the option of being open to entry there, most people just leave the moment restrictions get tight enough to make it fair again. But Simraceway has a way around that, which makes the competition close, and really shows driver skill. In GT5 time trials I'm very bone average in my times, like bottom of 2nd quarter, and in races near the back online, but with tight restrictions like Simraceway, I'm in the top quarter in the Hot lap events, and for my last three races last night I got 2nd, 1st, 1st.

Price is $15 or 15000 credits, quite steep I thought!

Also had this email "My Simraceway team has recently reviewed the results for the Beginner MP4-27 at Mid-Ohio (Event 1947) which took place October 25 I’m writing with news that you have taken one of these prizes: 1st Bigbazz $10"

The first prize money hotlap event I've won and I didn't even remember entering the beginner one lol! I got disqualified for a prize event I thought I won a while back though, they are very strict with their rules of clean driving, Alonso's qualifying lap at Brazil last weekend would have been disqualified in SRW!

Is anyone using a CSW with this game? Ive been searching the SRW fourms for wheel settings, but cant find anything but logitech wheel settings. If anyone has some setting suggestions could you post them? Thanks.

Just a quick question for you guys. Is there any way to earn credits on SRW by myself? Or is it all multiplayer based?

Hot lap events are technically single player but you still have to connect to the Internet to do them.

Connecting to the internet is fine. I just can't dedicate the time to stay with a multiplayer game very long. So you just get a certain amount of credits per lap or how does it work?

You get five credits and rep points per lap, rep points don't really do anything other than record how many laps you've done though. You have to do an out lap first which isn't recorded, but after that it's 5cr per lap... As long as that lap isn't disqualified. So the fastest cars aren't necessarily the best for earning credits. The Sonoma Kart event is quite decent, but a few months back they had a hot lap event using the Indy car on one of the ovals, it was crazy how quickly you could earn credits. Then they stopped it.

Sounds good. Thanks for the help man. I installed it and got everything set up a couple of nights ago. I just wasn't sure about the whole credits bit. I really want to get that F1 LM. It's been my favorite car since I was probably 12:)

Best of luck to you, by my count that's... 2,500 laps! Try entering events with monetary prizes, the law of averages should mean you luck out and win enough cash before you hit that many laps! My wishlist is much cheaper: GT86 (added today?), MX-5, RX-7 and RX-8... A total of just $1.10 or 220 laps. But the F1 LM does sound like fun from what Bigbazz has said.

Well if I get it I would probably just buy it outright. That doesn't bother me too much because its the first time its been in a game I've played. I knew from previous statements on this thread it would take an insane amount of hotlapping.:) The credits would be more for cars like you want.

Personally I would keep the credits earned for the cheaper cars and then just buy the expensive cars with cash, for the price of a beer your choice is pretty big. Keep an eye out every tuesday they have a car that is free to drive for the day, alongside that they give you a discount (varies car to car) on that car for the day if you decide you want to buy it.

I've bought a whole bunch of cars on the test drive tuesday days though the Mclaren F1 LM I bought the day it was released, just couldn't wait! The cars are top quality and considering how fast the game is growing and the fact that its free to begin with it's more than worth it to spend the money on the cars you want.

Go-Karts are usually the best way to earn credits, due to the shorter laps.

Edit : Oh and they also added a new car. 2012 Toyota GT86

Cost is $0.25 or 250 credits.

Ya that's my theory too I guess. I got the game for free so I don't mind spending some money to get the cars I really enjoy. I'll definitely keep that Test Drive Tuesday in mind. I've only drove the Evo in practice but I really enjoyed it.
