Been hearing about this and am curious about specs. I get the feeling its not for low end PCs so its likely never going to work for me, but I'd like to know for sure.

512 MB video RAM
2.4 GHz dual-core processor
DirectX 9.0c

I made the mistake of driving the Toyota MR-2 around Laguna Seca event after trying out the Ford....it didn't go well

Weekend Test Drive.

If you do buy it (like $16.00) they are doing events on Thursdays to win up to 10x the amount you paid for the car for driving the most miles in an event.

Just downloading this at the moment, not wanting to pour my own money into it but can anyone offer some useful advice for a new player? Also, does it work well with a DFGT?

I use a DFGT and it works fine.

Head over to the new forums and there is a sub-forum for setting up your wheel.

http://community.simraceway.com/index.php/forum/4-controller-setup-guides/

Works ok out of the gate, but you will want to tweak the settings a little bit. Make sure you're running the logitech profiler as there are many settings there you will want to change.

Their website chat is helpful as well. Orange tab on left side of simraceway.com home page.

The only useful advice I can think of is:

- Don't buy any cars with real money unless it's a Tuesday and the Test Drive Tuesday car is one that you want.

- Don't bother with anything that isn't a quick race or event because you won't earn credits for offline laps. You get 5 credits per lap otherwise and you use them to unlock cars for free.

That might be it.

The events are collecting as much credit as the Quick races online, it might be a better way to get used to the cars and tracks.
As infinital said, spend a little time on the forum in the Controller set up section, it will get you the best feeling at the wheel faster.
Personal advice, if you like driving in cockpit view, like me, remove the wheel animation.

Three tracks to test at Today. Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca, & Daytona (probably Oval)

Buy It today for $1.25

That car is a great SIM car, free to try at Simraceway. Just bought it with credits earn in the game. What a pleasure to race that car.

Waow, this last screenshot of the donigton racetrack with the wireframe is very nice!

Is there any other screenshots of circuit with wireframe on it ?
Thats very informative :)

There are some on their Facebook page. One is of a NASCAR oval, but there have been other ones.

Or on their blog. Blog.simraceway.com

I saw the picture of Darlington Raceway, but when I checked their facebook page, I couldn't find it there.

I did see the update work on CotA and their progress on TT Assen though.

From Twitter:

@simraceway: We are releasing a modern-day pony car today which lapped the Nurburgring only four-hundredths of a second slower than a Porsche 911 Turbo S

According to Wikipedia, the 911 Turbo S (2010)'s lap time is 7:41.23. I've seen videos and posts about the GT500 doing time attacks at the 'ring, but no mention of any lap times... But I imagine you're right, it's either the Shelby or an actual racing car I suppose, and you'd expect a car like that in racing trim to be faster than a 911 Turbo S road car anyway just because of the tyres and aero.

Like this Ford Racing Mustang Boss 302S, I mean:

I gave the demo a shot and must say I'm impressed with the physics and how the cars drive. Tried a couple of cars each at Lime Rock and Laguna and enjoyed it. Sounds isn't quite "realistic" but it's still more enjoyable than most cars in GT5.

Unfortunately, my PC just isn't up to snuff and I had to turn the graphics settings pretty low to get it to run smooth and it doesn't look very good as a result. I'll fiddle some more with the settings and see what I can do.

Finally a game that features my local track, TT Circuit Assen. Thanks Simraceway!

Guess what I will be wasting my time on this weekend? :P
