i got into cars when i was about 15, just before i got my drivers permit. The day i had gotten my licence, i had the oppertunity to test drive various cars for a first car. I ended up favoring the RWD chassis and bought myself a 1989 300zx N/A. After a year of driving, you tend to get more familiar with the control of the car, in seattle car control is a skill you should very much be familiar with, since roads are really slippery here. When i eventually became more of an aggressive driver, because i was always late getting up for school in the morning, and so i would speed through residential areas. Since it was early, there would be hardly any cars out, so after another year i eventually took turns sideways, at first on accident because seattle rains alot. Then i got use to the breaking of traction and it eventually became second nature. Then when i had to bring a friend to school one time, and scared the **** out of him because we were being late..and i was driving really fast told me about drifting. He was a big car nut..and taught me some stuff about what i was doing. Then introduced me to initial d, after i watched initial d, my Z died and i ended up crashing due to brake failure. At that time, i had already taken 2 quarters of automechanics and decided to swap in a VG30DET into my z31, and as my daily driver (since the z is not gona be my project car), i bought a 98 240sx SE. So i would say, i learned what drifting is when i was 18-19. I was drifting around 16-17.
