Where did you buy the game? If you brought it in the USA then it will be NTSC! You may have raced people with a PAL copy before due to World Events. The regions are lifted on these and anyone in the world can race eachtother 👍

I was just wondering how this competition will run in regards its sounding like there will be online races which sounds great in theory but may just be too hard to judge fairly or organize due to PD taking the world events away/lag updates etc.

I'm just skeptical about contact between racers for one. The fact is there will be UN avoidable contact at times due to close racing, adrenaline to win and just plain mistakes causing you to miss breaking points etc (It happens) ruining your race along with who you hit. I just wonder how this will be judged, I'm sure that the fact there will be a large variety of people young/old experienced/novice fast/slow etc that will hold different opinions of each incident depending on what they sore, it’s not like an administrator can watch the footage over again to decide.

The best way I can see it been fair is to be judged on closed environments, for instance time trials, after all it is a driving competition not a tuning competition and that would give everybody the same environment to be in, identical cars, tires, suspension, penalties and giving a time flexibility for everyone to work around. This also means the possibility of car and tire configuration is endless and will test everybody’s driving ability from thrashing a forgivable FF hatch back on N tires around to trying to get the Z06’s power down around London etc.

You could post a track, car, tire limit and a deadline for all the times to be in or better a deadline for when you (JUDGE/ADMISTRATOR) will go online to the ranking a takedown everybody’s time on the list, if they don’t make the top 100 then that’s tough you simply didn’t go fast enough to beat the qualifying time, this is only what they do in qualifying anyway you have to be within a certain percent of the fastest persons time to enter the race. See Moto GP, when it rains if your 2seconds slower than the fastest person’s time then you can’t race the following day!

The people that qualified get ranked 1-52 or however many qualified e.g.
1st = GTP_Wanna_B
2nd= GTP_JackStanley
3rd = GTP_patriotzero

Etc all the way to where people qualified so for instance if only 3 people qualified that event then everybody else gets 4th.

These places are equal to points so GTP_Wanna_B would get 1point from this event and GTP_JackStanley would get 2 and soon on, THE WINNER OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP would be the person with the least amount of points after the final event!

After each deadline a new event time trail could be released to us with a deadline for all times to be registered by. This also leaves the possibility of a drift event in the championship which would further test people ability. With points being given exactly the same.

Please feel free to comment on this post it’s just my opinion, I want this event to work just like everyone else, I’m just trying to highlight future problems that may occur and remove any controversy that may happen.

The best way I can see it been fair is to be judged on closed environments, for instance time trials, after all it is a driving competition not a tuning competition and that would give everybody the same environment to be in, identical cars, tires, suspension, penalties and giving a time flexibility for everyone to work around. This also means the possibility of car and tire configuration is endless and will test everybody’s driving ability from thrashing a forgivable FF hatch back on N tires around to trying to get the Z06’s power down around London etc.

You could post a track, car, tire limit and a deadline for all the times to be in or better a deadline for when you (JUDGE/ADMISTRATOR) will go online to the ranking a takedown everybody’s time on the list, if they don’t make the top 100 then that’s tough you simply didn’t go fast enough to beat the qualifying time, this is only what they do in qualifying anyway you have to be within a certain percent of the fastest persons time to enter the race. See Moto GP, when it rains if your 2seconds slower than the fastest person’s time then you can’t race the following day!

The people that qualified get ranked 1-52 or however many qualified e.g.
1st = GTP_Wanna_B
2nd= GTP_JackStanley
3rd = GTP_patriotzero

Etc all the way to where people qualified so for instance if only 3 people qualified that event then everybody else gets 4th.

These places are equal to points so GTP_Wanna_B would get 1point from this event and GTP_JackStanley would get 2 and soon on, THE WINNER OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP would be the person with the least amount of points after the final event!

After each deadline a new event time trail could be released to us with a deadline for all times to be registered by. This also leaves the possibility of a drift event in the championship which would further test people ability. With points being given exactly the same.

Please feel free to comment on this post it’s just my opinion, I want this event to work just like everyone else, I’m just trying to highlight future problems that may occur and remove any controversy that may happen.

At the minute the time trail is just to get a list of the guys fastest to slowest. This may not be for everyone as they may not like the car / track but it will put them in their average position.

The way I see the event running (cant speak for GTP_Wanna_B but he has the final say) is that Id prefer to focus on the racing. Time trails get boring after a number of times. I think racing is alot more exciting and there are more time trails on this site than focusing on racing itself.

You talk about racing accidents. This is a factor when racing anyway. Something we have to put up with. Of course we dont want people to crash but they get close now and then. What if Glock had hit Hamilton on the final corner... Just a variable in racing. To help out I will try and get people to be racing stewards. Sphinx (I believe) has arrenged this for Stage 2. People not involved in the event will drive behind the racers and if an accident occurs we have a 3rd party answer.

Of course we will have a rule that "No contact allowed" when we progress into the second round.

Great orginization of the event Jack! I commend you and all of the other fellows involved in setting up this event 👍. I also really like the idea of having a steward in later rounds for any accidents that may take place. I'm also happy this event will be heads up racing and not a time trial. Should make for a much more heated and hard earned victory in the later stages. Cheers :cheers:

If you mean what times people have submitted...no, lol. The idea is, you do your time trial on the quiet and then we allocate you depending on times achieved, no one gets knocked out at this stage.
If you was not refering to this, please explain and we will answer.
 
Just like a leader board of the top 10 or something. Just so we known whom we are racing for the fastest time because there are some guys doing 15.2 and its rather daunting lol.
